  1. I know what you mean Freddy, I use either my iPad or mostly iPhone to post stuff on here, which means that occasionally just as you go to send, you lose network and everything that you have spent ages typing, trying to type a long item on the iPhone is a real pain due to the size of the keyboard. The other down side is that there are no emoticons via iPhone/pad other than emoji which means the reeader has to have apple equipment. The joys of posting eh.....
  2. Northampton is not a major detour for me on the way to Mothers so I shall probably call in next time i'm on my way down
  3. Goodluck Freddy, Hope you get the courage up to wear them..... I would go fir the first pair, if you wear a similar pair of jeans to the other day, I doubt that many people will notice. Anyway Goodluck
  4. I am after this pair of heels from Barratts http://www.bigshoeboutique.co.uk/en/patent-round-toe-platform-court-shoes-size-9-10-254951 and if I get them I shall be quite happy to wear these to Westfield
  5. I know exactly what you mean about the practice Freddy, I was most disappointed that I couldn't walk in those River Island heels, and I am blaming the shoe style rather than my own lack of practice. I also blame the fact that I am carry a few more pounds than I would like at the momemt (Which I am trying to shift for the WHM in December - and that is another story entirely). Though I think that when you are wearing a more "Girly" style of heel, I find that I need to adopt a more feminine gait, think almost crossing your legs as you walk, which as a man is a little more difficult! I have managed to succeed in this eventually, though when I was at my lowest weight last year. More importantly though is the fact that you are quite right and we are all here only the once, and it is better to have tried, even if you were not completely successful the first time than regret it when you are 80 and can no longer wear any sort of heel I should be back in London in three weeks, and assuming Her indoors doesn't tag along, I would be quite up for a Westfield meet in a more girly style.......
  6. Welcome and hope you enjoy the site, I have a size 9 foot and struggle over here in the UK, hope you have success in finding heels in your size
  7. Welcome and enjoy the site Those are some really nice heels you bought there (Jealous .... You bet) Do you have a lot of scope for heeling outside?
  8. Well Freddy I purchased these http://www.next.co.uk/x50306s1#829401x50 in Next at Westfield last week and spent the next hour walking (or trying to) around in them. I got the black patents nit berry..... Sorry couldnt find link to the blacks pair. As I mentioned I had to take them back for a refund as fir some reason I just could not get on with this pair at all ( I have worn similar or higher with no problems) As I mentioned at the first posting, I was spotted only once by a rather bemused young man, who really didn't know what to make of it! I think that you should give some girly shoes a go...... I got away with it and it is the perfect place for very thin heels. I must say I enjoy wearing more girly heels if I am somewhere I can get away with it! The only problem with Sunday was the train ride home, though I think that I would have git away with it!
  9. Yep Freddy, Definitely girly.... But I like girly heels, I would wear them, if I thought that: A. I would get away with it for the most part (Possible) B. I would get enough use (Doubtful) I shall keep an eye on them and possibly get a pair for the WHM in December
  10. Those are seriously nice boots..... I want, shame they don't do my size!
  11. Well Freddy, Those pics came out very well considering the equipment. I must say that we got away with not being noticed (apart from House of Fraser - and he wasn't bothered) and I am not sure if I prefer a little positive comment or remain incognito as it were. But anyway a very enjoyable afternoon.
  12. I had 30 minutes to wait at Marylebone, so I thought I would get the story online. Freddy if you can get any pics on that would be appreciated, I,ve got the iPad here and it is not very good for uploading to the web from it's memory (Or I don't know how to do it! But I totally agree, I would go again..... Especially midweek when the offices are emptying out!
  13. Today FastFreddy2 and myself met up on Oxford Street for a shoe browsing expedition (For want of a better description) Both having a look at and looking out for high heels being worn. And before you ask apart from ourselves we saw no other men in heels! The title says it all though...... With a few very notable exceptions, the female populace shopping in London today had a propensity for wearing flats:-( After a coffee and chat I browsed Debenhams shoe floor..... The sale is on but not a great deal in my size! We had a walk to house of Fraser. Now there were several pairs of very nice heels.... Including the NineWest stilettos which I had previously seen at Westfield but were still priced at £65. After a good browse and being spotted by the male assistant, we headed for Selfridges. It seemed our luck was changing as the first thing we saw was a lovely young lady trying on some fabulous steel heeled stiletto ankle boots. This alone was worth the trip into London. After a good wander around the whole shoe gallery, we had descended to the ground floor when I came across a gorgeous blonde wearing bronze stilettos.... These again were worth the journey! We visited Next, but due to the sale, it looked like a jumble sale! We didnt stick around there very long. A visit to New Look followed, where you can always be assurred of the sight of high heels being tried on... Again we were not disappointed. The afternoon ended with a quick browse of Primark..... Again lots of nice women trying on some really nice heels. Pics will follow Ttfn
  14. http://m.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10001_10001_58958+2616700109_-1?breadcrumb=Home%7Etxtwell Heres a link to those heels...... They had about 6 pairs in various sizes up to 9 on display
  15. It was more the price than the collection size, though they are REALLY nice heels! I just cant justify £65 on shoes I might wear infrequently. You never know I may check my local Debenhams
  16. Well with Amy Childs are you really surprised? Good on the outside but nowt inside...... She is a sad indictment of what is wrong with Britains youth, and the reality TV era (Rant over)
  17. Sorry Shyguy I was solo today and didnt get any pics! And I must say that the ladies of West London were predominantly in flats today. Though I saw a couple of young ladies trying on going out herls in Newlook..... Pretty nice but only had my phone
  18. I agree with Freddy, I don't think you need an "Excuse" as it will be perfectly obvious to those whose see the pics that you like heels. As your wife is happy with your heeling being out there, I'D say nothing and I bet you probably wont get asked about it. If someone does ask, just be honest and say you like wearing them. Most people if they notice will think you have an eccentric or bohemian style. We have a guy at work who for want of a better word has an outlandish fashion style ( think curtain material made into trousers) and no one worries about it..... Its just his way. So if you keep on with the heels, people will just accept it, because they are familiar with it and that makes your heeling a normal abnormality (if I make sense) Good luck anyway
  19. I had a wander out to Westfield (White City) this afternoon, primarily to see what Barratts had to offer. Barratts were extremely disappointing in that they had no large sizes in stock:-( So I was pleasantly surprised to find that Next had a fair stock of size 43 wide. I was wearing a pair of 4 inch black suede courts (from Brantano) with a pair of knee highs! They were pretty inconspicuos under my jeans, unless you were very observant. I went to check out New Look and found a pair of Black wedges with a beige sole, which go extremely well with jeans. After I had finished trying them on a put my courts back on, I noticed a young lady watching me with a curious look on her face, when she saw me notice her, she just smiled and turned back to her friends without do much as a comment. I changed into my new wedges outside the store, and finished my wander about in them. They are a tad higher than I usually wear, but are very discreet. I finished with a try on of a size 9 Nine West stiletto in Debenham. On the positive, they fit well and would be reasonably discreet, on the negative they were still £65 from £95. Maybe if they were cheaper I would have bought them. I was also watched by a lady whilst trying these on, also without a comment. Westfield was quite busy this afternoon, and I went pretty unnoticed! Apart from one guy (16-18 ish) with his girlfriend. The poor lad didnt know what to make of my footwear.
  20. Freddy I think a city break ... Oh say Madrid, youve got the weather and really decent shopping, or perhaps Milan?? I think a glass of something cool sat on a piazza watching the (Almost) universally fashion concious Italian women wander past in high heels would be perfect. Unfortunately I am stuck with one week at Thorpe Park in Cleethorpes:(
  21. Grocery Store: sometimes Shopping Mall: Often Electrical outlet: never Hairdresser: never Car workshop: never Dentist: never ( not a good one- no hiding!) Stroll in town: often Cinema: sometimes Restaurants: occasionally Bars/pubs: once or twice (away from home) At work: never (not allowed- safety shoes) With colleagues: sometimes (twice wore 4 1/2 inch stilettos to charity do's) also one colleague knows that I wear heels and doesnt care At friends house: no Ferries/airports: no Relatives: yes occasionally ( my mum thinks my block heel ankle boots are for men lol) It all depends on what my mood is and if I am alone or with the wife!
  22. I have seen quite a few men while they have been crossdressed, and only two others in Man mode! And one of those was full on high heel stilettos, walking towards Arndale in Manchester. He did actually look pretty good, as his whole ensemble matched...... Skinny jeans, tight top and the attitude to carry it off. It was a busy Saturday afternoon and most people did not even notice!
  23. I am pretty sure that she had me Sussed with hindsight, it is very rare for a salesperson to comment at all, the only one who ever does is the shoe manager at New Look, but then she knows that's I always buy shoes there and is helpful in pointing stuff in my size.
  24. Went to Matalan today, looking for some ankle boots. They are the only place that had ankle boots at this time of year!! I managed to find a pair with an elasticated ankle for just £6 in a size 8/42. They fit ok, little bit tight but hey ho. When I went to pay, the very attractive 20 sonething blonde assistant, looked me straight in the eye and said "are they for you?" It took me totally by surprise and I almost missed the chance.... But yep theyare fir Me was my reply! She was totally unfazed by this answer ( I guess she had me sussed out already). The moral of this story is buy in store....... Because you can.... Happy shopping folks
  25. Freddy I thought that the brown boots might be to your liking, I was still wearing them at my Mothers house abd just told her that I'd got sime cuban heeled boots! To be honest she has no idea what is or isnt in fashion:-) I hope to wear the boots outside of jeans, along with the matching leather jacket........ I think they go together quite well, maybe next time I am down in London!!!! And did any one see the article in the Metro about "Man tights"? They might be a step in the right direction
