  1. On Sunday 6th Feb I had arranged to meet up with fastfreddy2 on Oxford Street for an afternoon discussing and viewing heels in various stores. For the afternoon I wore a pair of Brantano calf length suedette 3 1/3 inch heeled boots under a pair of jeans, I travelled into Central London on the Central line and had a good wander around before meeting FF2 up for a coffee at Starbucks. After exchanging greetings and a discussion of our high heels interests, it was off to sample the various shoe stores in the vicinity of selfridges. We had a good look at Barratts, New look (We both had a try on of some heels that we liked, got absolutely no reaction from the young girls also shopping in there!), Next, Primark and then to Selfridges. We had popped into Superdrug for some items, when we were observed walking around by a gentleman at the back of the store, who was really observing our feet. I found what I needed and whilst queing to pay this chap comes out with "I like your shoes!" "Thanks, do you like mine or his (Pointing at FF2) more,?" "Yours definately!" was his reply... so I asked him if he wanted a pair to which he just laughed. It just goes to show that there really is no problem with wearing heels out and about, as long as you are sensible in what you team your heels with.. I think that he would have been most happy to join us in wearing heels IF he were brave enough! We had a good look around the shoe floor, what an absolutely fabulous place, though the prices on some of the shoes are out of this world! The only shoes that I wasnt overly impressed with were Christain Louboutin, for some reason they really didnt do anything for me! (Strange I know). Knowing that we were never going to buy a pair in there, we headed off to Debenhams for a coffee. After coffee we had a quick wander up to the shoe department and I managed to find a pair of Nine West ankle boots down to £45 from £150, they were in my size, but I just couldnt make up my mind. So it was a quick look into another branch of Next and then aldo shoes before at 545pm I decided that I really MUST have those Nine West boots and nipped back to Debenhams for them. I bought the boots and said to the assistant that I was going to wear them now, "You must show us what they look like" she said, and after changing into the boots I went over to the cash desk where she and 2 of her colleagues were waiting to finish their shift. "Wow those actually look really good on you" she said "More men should wear them". I think that it might have made their day. So it was off for a quick bit to eat at Carluccios, where we were seated in the window, I must say that my new boots were a little obvious but I did really like wearing them. I know that the lady on the adjacent table noticed what I was wearing after visiting the facilities and had a real strange look on her face! That was it for the day, I changed into trainers for the train ride home...and look forward to another adventure in heels soon....I hope that some of my fellow heelers on here will join up with us, It really wasnt as daunting as it sounds! I have attached a picture of the boots so that you can see and will be critiqueing them shortly.
  2. Hi Alex, You are one very lucky guy to have so many people close to you accept you wearing heels, and have the confidence to wander the streets in your heels. I would have to agree with you that it is far easier to wander about in a strange place, where you dont know people than to wear your heels in front of people you know well. hope that you enjoy the site, and let us know what you get up to.
  3. Yep, Ive got one of those little rectangles too, and it would be nice to know what it is actually for.
  4. Very true, you do get what you pay for and yes Barratts are "Cheap" in manufacture though not always in price. I must say (Straying slightly off topic) that those Ninewest ankle boots I bought the other day are probably the best made AND most comfortable pair that I have in my collection. So it just goes to show you pay more, you get more. They are actually more comfy than some of my "Mens" going out shoes!
  5. They will work well with a pair of jeans, i dont think that the cross strap would be an issue because its not going to be seen and at £12 thats a realistic rice to pay for them..
  6. This particular colleague is no problems,he is a good friend as well and his exhibitionist tendancies mean that to him, it was no big deal. (He turned up to a company night out in a luminous green tutu and nipple tassels! - and thats all). if it had been someone else, 1. I don't think that they would have noticed my boots and 2. I would not have stayed in conversation with them long enough for them to find out, probably because they would have moved on after a quick chat as most people would do. To be honest if I had noticed him first I would have probably avoided him if I could.
  7. Totally caught at ASDA tonight..... I went shopping after I came home from work and decided to wear my boots to ASDA, no problem, it was not too busy and no one noticed. I nearly put on a pair of pumps but its a good job i didn't! I was just using the self service (Fast - I don't think so) lane, and I noticed that one of my work colleagues was stood there waiting for me to finish. So we started to chat and he walked out with me and then I realised that his car was parked right next to mine . So he says "What the H*&L are you wearing, so I showed him, luckily he is the guy that always comes along dressed up whenever we have an event, so it did not worry him at all, plus I know he will not say anything! I still have a video of him trying on heels at Brantanos for our last charity walk!!;-) I asked him if he wanted a pair, but as I know he has real problems getting womens shoes to fit him I knew he would say no. If he could readily get heels to fit he would not hesitate in wearing them in public, not because he likes heels but because he is a total exhibitionist! She who must be obeyed rolled her eyes when I picked her up from the in-laws and said I bet you were wearing those boots! I really do think she is mellowing to the idea :-(
  8. It all depends on my mood, I have a couple of pairs of flat shoes that I nearly always wear around the house, as they are very comfortable and easy to slip on, as for heels I can go days without "Bothering" and then I get the urge to wear heels and also over compensate and wear heels non stop for 2 or 3 days. But it all depends on my mood, and too an extent whether I am working or on my days off.
  9. I dont think that the noise always stands out as wearing something different, I got a new pair of trainers for Christmas and they have got a rock hard sole, the noise when I walk about in them is exactly the same as if I were wearing a pair of heels, and there are quite a few mens shoes with hard soles that do make a noise as you are walking. Its because we know what we are wearing that makes it seem so obvious, I bet your neighbour didn't even bat an eyelid.
  10. Barratts in the Harlequin at Watford is the only one where I have had possibly a negative reaction from the sales staff, she seem a bit embarrassed looking for size 9's and was a bit uncomfortable with me trying them on, in the end I got one pair from there on that occasion and wore them out of the shop back to the car park. (Its not far and I think I did it more to gauge her reaction than anything else). They were a pair of low kitten heel pointy toe courts, cant post a link because they are no longer on the website, but have attached a pic instead. Tesco still only go up to a size 8 and I really need a 9, but I am glad to see that ASDA has started with size 9's, quite a few different types as well, ok so not the greatest manufacturing but cheap enough. I am now really wanting a pair from Next http://www.next.co.uk/shopping/women/shoesandboots/1/10?extra=sch&n=women&pid=379-151&returnurl=%2fshop%2fgender%2dwomen%2dcategory%2dshoes%2duse%2dformal%2d0%3fx%3d1%26nxti%3d0%26nxtv%3d0%23379%2d151&bct=%26quot%3bShop%20By%20Product%26quot%3b%26nbsp%3b%26gt%3b%26nbsp%3bWomen%26nbsp%3b%26gt%3b%26nbsp%3bShoes%26nbsp%3b%26gt%3b%26nbsp%3bFormal I will have to have a size 9 delivered to the store, just not sure about the thinness of the heel, it is pencil thin. I managed to get the size 8's on ok but they were a little tight due to the height but seemed ok for walking in, will have to see if I can get them soon.
  11. Its true I suppose, the amount of CCTV cameras that us Brits walk past every day , it makes not a lot of difference to one or two shots on the street being taken and yep most people have a camera on their phone nowadays, as long as you are discreet I cant see a major problem with some street shots. And when you watch those "Docusoaps" on the police, they always say when anyone objects.. "He is filming in a public place, he can film what he wants", I'm not sure that the average Joe would get away with filming in certain places but there must be some validity to it. I think that it is definitel worth a go to see what pictures the forum membes can come up with, and it would defo increase traffic on here, I assume that there would not be a major bandwidth problem, not knowing a great deal about web hosting to be honest. And a Wedding, perfect place because you will always have plenty of very nice heels on display.... on the downside the only wedding I'm going to this year so far is in October ;-) Well thats my twopenneth on the debate :-(
  12. Very interesting idea, I too do like to have a look at some eye candy, there is nothing like a nice pair of heels walking down the street, a really nice pair of heels on a decent pair of legs are like a work of art. Whilst waiting for my train the other day at preston, I noticed a lady with an absolutely gorgeous pair of heels on, and I just sat down and casually observed those heels for a while., but I digress... I think that the idea of a 'Street shots' thread is really good, and I would certainly have an interest in viewing those, though I dont know if I could take pictures of heels in the street without drawing attention to myself, its one of those things, I can walk around in heels quite happily but taking pictures of a strangers feet? I don't know I would probably have to ask first... strange isn't it. On the other idea an "Encyclopedia" of shoes, I think has some merits but I am not sure if it would work out, you really need all the pictures in one gallery, but I suppose it could be done. If we do go ahead with that idea, perhaps we should have a both on and off the foot shot, along with a standard descriptive format as you suggest. I think that a photoshoot is a good idea, its easier than using the self timer, the pictures will be much better composed, and it wil be far more interesting. Well lets see what happens......
  13. Well just a little tale for you fellow heelers, her indoors fancied a drive out tonight, so I was wearing my Evans 3 inch courts and she said "Can you drive in those?" "Of course" well on the way back, she decided she wanted a bottle of wine, so we were halfway around ASDA before she remembered I was wearing heels.... too late Unlucky Wife we will have to carry on. We had selected our wine when she came out with, isnt that xxxxx from your work, so much to her disgust I went and had a chat with him. Anyways nobody noticed and she is NOT a happy camper but seemd to be mellowing to heels....
  14. Welcome At least your wife is not totaly against the idea of you wearing heels, so go for it in private for now and who knows..... At least in Germany there is a more liberal attitude towards fashion and style... men in heels hopefully
  15. O bad me, I managed to despatch the wife to the in laws for the afternoon, and decided to have a little browse around town... New look was pretty empty for a Sunday afternnon AND they have organised all their sale stock into sizes.... very helpful So I've had a fun 45 minutes trying onloads of pairs and decided to buy two pair (images attached) First pair are a beige "Snakeskin" style 5 inch peeptoe and the other blue suede lace ups (Which I really like). The peeptoes were only £3 and the others £10 so what a bargain Not sure when I will be able to wear the beige shoes out as they are a bit conspicuous and even my longest jeans do not hide them, but at that price I thought what the hell go for it! The digital camera has like Lazarus risen from the dead and I have put a reasonable couple of photos into my gallery, but I am still thinking of getting a new camera soon, going to go uprange a bit and get one with tripod and timer for those outdoor shots.
  16. Really nice but a little bit narrow, still thinking but like you say £45 is a bit steep just got to justify the expense
  17. Hopefully I have attached a picture of them
  18. Debenhams have got some gorgeous nine west ankle boots down to £45 and the Preston store has a pair in my size. I decisions decisions, I have overspent already this month but these boots are to die for..... We will have to see what happens..
  19. Thanks, I will put more pics up as and when I get some decent ones. My digital camera has given up the ghost, so i am using and iphone camera! Also I want some interesting shots and not just shoes or ankle shots, hopefully will get some sorted soon, but may have to enlist the help of the wife.
  20. Yep, the website looks pretty slick Had no real problems using it, only small glitch as fastfreddy2 says is the user profile, but all in all good site Cheers
  21. That sounds excellent to me........... the more the merrier, I shall stand by for final confirmation of time and place...
  22. I am guessing that some shopping along Oxford St, followed by a sojourn at a suitable establishment for observing the passing foot traffic would be good. I will probably come into the west end by train, and the last tube back to Uxbridge is about midnight. I would suggest an afternoon meet, and then decamp to the restaurant you suggested. I would be fab if hh4evr1 came along as well. Sat 5th or Sun 6th are both good for me, though I am down until Thurs 10th if you want a midweek meet. You pick the day most convienient and I Will be there!
  23. I went on a little shopping trip to Matalan yesterdsy, for a pair of skinny jeans to show off heels (At home). Anyway I found a nice pair and tried them on, yep spot on, these will do very nicely so I went to pay. No problem at the till, except one of the floor staff walked past a couple of times because she had "forgotten" something. As I was leaving she was stood by the door, she looked at my feet, looked at me with a massive grin, winked and Iwas on my way. Should have said somrthing I Know I think I should have stopped and chatted, but there were loads of people about.
