    Brantanos

From the album: Shopping for heels

These are a satin fabric with a lace overlay design, 5 inch peeptoe court in a Uk size 9. A very nice fit and quite easy to walk in. Again they were on sale at £30 so a bit steep for what they are considering I have a similar pair at home, though i do prefer these.

A front view of the lace up, suedette courts. Not overly impressed with the look from this angle. and at £30 I don't think I will be purchasing

A pair of black cut out, lace up, suedette heels, bit of a hassle to put them on, but they are quite comfortable in a Uk size 9

    In New Look

From the album: Shopping for heels

A pair of 4.5 inch heeled suedette ankle boots. This is the only shot that came out of a good enough quality to be posted, the mirror in the store was somewhat grimy and I think it confused the autofocus on the camera. It's a shame as tried 4 different pairs on in there.
  5. I have been browsing New Look again recently and I have spotted some pairs that I like and am thinking of getting I didn't have time to try them on last week at the Preston shop, but they do go up to a size 9 so there should not be a problem with them fitting fingers crossed.... Link to the site they are on is http://www.newlook.com/shop/womens/boots/suedette-shoe-boot_209176901 and http://www.newlook.com/shop/womens/boots/lace-up-bootie_212625101?icSort=-publishDate I have attached a couple of pictures as well, I think that they will go well teamed with a pair of jeans and won't be too obvious. They do have a similar pair to the suede ones with a thicker, lower heel, about the same as the first pair which have a more masculine look to them. For some reason I cannot find those on the website, so I guess that they are still quite new. I have also been after a pair of high courts for a while and these are currently on my list for future purchase http://www.newlook.com/shop/womens/shoes/suedette-platform-court_206831201 or http://www.newlook.com/shop/womens/shoes/round-toe-court-shoe_210861601 though next also have a pair similar but at twice the price £40 versus £19.99. The only thing is that I will have to order the Next ones because none of their stores keep a size 9 in stock, though their 9 is a 43 whereas New look tends to be a 42 so the Next shoes will fit beter, though I wont pay that much for them. Probably waiting for the sales What do you think guys?
  6. Thanks for your comments, I did purposely wear those jeans as they would show off the shoes to the best advantage, all my other pairs of jeans are very long so that I can disguise my heel wearing, I have put some more pics on today with another pair of jeans, which I dug out from the back of the wardrobe which are a little shorter than the others. I am after a new pair of heels from New look and will put photos up when I get them, which is likely to be after payday on Friday.
  7. Thanks for the tips FF2, they are useful and i will bear them in mind on my next photograph session, I have got a new digital camera, its not the most expensive as it is ideal for point and shoot! but it is 16 megapixel, which is improving the quality and I have got the front room to use now which has plenty of space and a good overhead light source. My window sill is at the perfect height for shots to include the feet, how convienient. I am going to see if her indoors would like to participate in having more pictures taken of her in different pairs of heels, she has got loads of shoes that she never wears so i might use that as an excuse to get pictures of them I really want to start getting some outdoors and on location shots of me in heels, but she is quite anti me wandering around in my heels when I am with her so i think that she would probably not attend any gathering of us in heels! I did see a really good video on you tube recently of two women trying on heels in new Look and i think that some pics of some of us trying befre buying might be a good idea, not sure if any one will be up for it though
  8. From the album: Work Heels? - I wish

My Newlook 4.5 inch heeled "Suedette" black courts with the elasticated cross straps. These would be good for a day at the office as they are very comfortable, though I am not overly sure that they go with a suit.

  17. Thanks for the positive comments guys, I am starting to get the hang of photos to be uploaded. The spare room now has halogen lights and white walls ready to be used as a studio her indoors thinks its been "Made over" I have wanted to do a photography course for a while but its been a case of 1. no time and 2. no cash. i am detemined to have a go soon though and hopefully improve the quality of pictures that I am taking. Freddy, I know it a real pain and I just wish that my wife would decide one way or another what she thinks about my heels..... I have a feeling that she complains when she thinks she will get something out of it (Wrong Idea!) I am not that daft! But she did let me take some oics of her in her boots and they are in my gallery, so we must be having a good day!
  18. Freddy, I may be back down South from 6th March for a week if a meet up is any good, I just have to make sure that the car has passed its MOT first before I make any final plans!
  19. I have put some new photos into my gallery, of me wearing some jeans and a selection of different shoes. I have used my new camera on self time, so I hope that they look ok, I do have some more to put up, but I think that is enough to start with. Any comments let me know, and I will hopefully soon get some pics of me out and about in heels Mrs heelman is on a downer about my shoe collection at the moment, but its amazing what £40 to go shopping with can do to change "Its the shoes or me!" to "I suppose I will have to put up with it!" I dont normally give in to her demanding ways, but I just cant be bothered with the argument at the moment (Early shifts and I am dead tired!)
  20. That we did there was a good deal of walking and it was most enjoyable, my feet did not hurt at all the next day! hope that you all like my writing style though any constructive ideas gratefully received Sorry typing error again!
  21. I would like to see a forum on last minute meet ups as that would be very useful and also one for "adventures" in heels, the suggestion for a "OK" to go in heels forum, where we could list openly friendly and accepting places as well as definite No Go places.
  22. Other than my wife, I have never had a stranger ask the Why question, it is most common to receive either positive (In the majority of instances) or negative comments about wearing heels. I have had comments about what I am wearing and it seems to me that those who notice and comment are the people who have already accepted that men can wear something different, and are just letting me know that they agree with my idea of male styling or not as the case may be. I think that the why question is most likely to originate from the older generation as they have the ingrained sterotype of what males/females should wear and are more likely to question someone differing from the norm. (I know that my 80 year old Mother comments frequently on the "Strange" styles that she sees in the street or on the television). I could see younger children picking up on the idea, but I think that styling has become so much more liberalised that most youngsters will already have a good idea as to the why, though I dare say it wouldnt stop them passing judgement. As it is most of the Secondary school age kids that my sister-in-law (14 going on 24) hangs around with all look pretty much the same, longish hair, skinny jeans, low heeled army boots or converse trainers and hoodies, some of the lads are out and about in make up and dying their hair, so fashion is slowly merging into a wear what you like and feel comfortable in rather than what you must wear style. freddy as for the efficiency argument, I am inclined to agree as I know that I am a lot slower walking around in heels than without and if I were wearing heels at work, I would be more careful not to damage them!
  23. Mrs Heelman was NOT overly impressed with my latest purchase. The heel is actually 12cm so 4.5 inches with a 2.5 cm or inch platform. They are good quality, you can really smell the leather on these and as I mentioned before the fit is absolutely perfect. A little obvious for general day to day wear in public, but I think that they are great for a night out around town. I wll be keeping an eye out for more Debenhams reductions in the future :-( I've added another couple of photos of me wearing these boots..
  24. I bought these ankle boots at Debenhams on my recent trip to Oxford St, and I must say that they are the most comfortable boots that I have worn in a long while! What do you guys think? They were £45 down from £150
  25. On Sunday 6th Feb I had arranged to meet up with fastfreddy2 on Oxford Street for an afternoon discussing and viewing heels in various stores. For the afternoon I wore a pair of Brantano calf length suedette 3 1/3 inch heeled boots under a pair of jeans, I travelled into Central London on the Central line and had a good wander around before meeting FF2 up for a coffee at Starbucks. After exchanging greetings and a discussion of our high heels interests, it was off to sample the various shoe stores in the vicinity of selfridges. We had a good look at Barratts, New look (We both had a try on of some heels that we liked, got absolutely no reaction from the young girls also shopping in there!), Next, Primark and then to Selfridges. We had popped into Superdrug for some items, when we were observed walking around by a gentleman at the back of the store, who was really observing our feet. I found what I needed and whilst queing to pay this chap comes out with "I like your shoes!" "Thanks, do you like mine or his (Pointing at FF2) more,?" "Yours definately!" was his reply... so I asked him if he wanted a pair to which he just laughed. It just goes to show that there really is no problem with wearing heels out and about, as long as you are sensible in what you team your heels with.. I think that he would have been most happy to join us in wearing heels IF he were brave enough! We had a good look around the shoe floor, what an absolutely fabulous place, though the prices on some of the shoes are out of this world! The only shoes that I wasnt overly impressed with were Christain Louboutin, for some reason they really didnt do anything for me! (Strange I know). Knowing that we were never going to buy a pair in there, we headed off to Debenhams for a coffee. After coffee we had a quick wander up to the shoe department and I managed to find a pair of Nine West ankle boots down to £45 from £150, they were in my size, but I just couldnt make up my mind. So it was a quick look into another branch of Next and then aldo shoes before at 545pm I decided that I really MUST have those Nine West boots and nipped back to Debenhams for them. I bought the boots and said to the assistant that I was going to wear them now, "You must show us what they look like" she said, and after changing into the boots I went over to the cash desk where she and 2 of her colleagues were waiting to finish their shift. "Wow those actually look really good on you" she said "More men should wear them". I think that it might have made their day. So it was off for a quick bit to eat at Carluccios, where we were seated in the window, I must say that my new boots were a little obvious but I did really like wearing them. I know that the lady on the adjacent table noticed what I was wearing after visiting the facilities and had a real strange look on her face! That was it for the day, I changed into trainers for the train ride home...and look forward to another adventure in heels soon....I hope that some of my fellow heelers on here will join up with us, It really wasnt as daunting as it sounds! I have attached a picture of the boots so that you can see and will be critiqueing them shortly.
