  1. I found out about this event today, and the event is today. http://www.bedfordtoday.co.uk/news/local/will-you-walk-like-a-lady-for-hospice-1-5244026 It's a fund raising "Walk a Mile in Her Shoes" event for Bedford Daycare Hospice, a missed opportunity I feel.
  2. Yeah, filled the bath half up with water. The bath can only be secured to the wall at the back and one side, the rest is supported on the supplied legs and some spreaders to spread the load on the floor. I am considering blocks beneath the bath at the unsupported areas to stop the movement before the next attempt at re-sealing it.
  3. This made me chuckle. the anonymous heel wearer is probably talking to someone saying that he noticed some guy keeps looking at him, and they're telling him to speak to the guy. His reply what to a complete stranger who may turn out to be a local nutter?
  4. My hobby is collecting old microcomputers and game consoles and now have a room devoted to it. It's been gradual but probably in it for well over £1000 too.
  5. Oh dear, sounds like you are having some issues there Freddy. At this end our bath panel has shifted and pulled away from the sealing strip so it all needs to be pulled out and reseated and held in place somehow before fitting a new strip. The bath also moves too much on one side as it fills with water so it keeps breaking the sealant at the end on that side so I've got to find a way to deal with that.
  6. Interestingly my wife recently mentioned a guy around my local area wearing heels, she has seen him on several occasions. Just this morning as we were going out in the car she spotted him and pointed him out. There was a bit of a distance between us in the car and where he was walking, but there was plainly a heel on his boots.
  7. Please post some if not all, always interesting to see what people are wearing or collecting.
  8. Look forward to pics and story as always.

    Out And About

Very nice looking boots, the kind of thing I would like to wear. Congrats on gaining more acceptance with your newly wed friends.
  10. We have two cats, the eldest is around 15 years old and we got him when someone moved from a second floor flat, where he was regularly jumping out of the windows, to a 4th floor flat and they feared he'd start losing his 9 lives quickly. The other is only a little younger, so both old men now. They took well to the dog when we introduced her ;-)
  11. How about these sweet shoes?
  12. Definitely a positive experience then, maybe it's not as unusual as we all believe in our heads to be trying on ladies shoes, even in Matalan?
  13. Photos sound like a good idea Freddy, we've had the weather for a few days now.... Recently we were discussing the fact that I need some new jeans, and as we discovered mens jeans still don't flatter Mrs Shyguy suggested some more womens jeans as before. Then she was trying on some clothes to go out and found a few pairs of hardly worn jeans which no longer fitted her as she is on a diet and doing well. Next thing I knew the jeans were thrown at me to try on, no ifs, ands or buts. One pair was too short from waist to between the legs so no go. Two pairs were a great fit, Mrs Shyguy said they weren't flattering but OK to wear for shopping and general family stuff. I did remark on her turn around from no womens jeans to this, her reply was "they're jeans, just jeans and who can tell the difference? As long as you look like a man in them they're fine".
  14. Close, Evans was the shop the shoes came from. Very comfortable and perfect fit.
  15. I just pulled out a stack box under the bed and found some shoes I really liked, and still do. These have probably been posted here before but I'm calling them my forgotten treasure. So what are your forgotten treasures, and what are your opinions of these?
  16. Just seen this on Facebook, take a picture of a wooden floor and post to this facebook page and you can win Christian Louboutin shoes.
  17. Recently my daughter was going to an event and needed to glam up (being a teenager she's only got trainers and hoodies as far as I can tell). After her and my wife had sorted her some trousers and a feminine top to wear, the shoes were next on the list. Having exhausted all other avenues my wife took me aside and asked if they could peruse my collection for suitable footwear (my daughter has the same size feet as me) and I agreed. After they'd decided nothing suited their needs that I had (my daughter thinks they're mums still though) my wife came out to me and said "you have some really nice shoes". This is the first time she has called the shoes I have "nice" so I was taken aback and didn't take the opportunity to push the envelope a little.
  18. A lucky find there, before the damage was done. Now that's preventative maintenance
  19. Tucked away in the wardrobe or under the bed in a stack box.
  20. Those are very nice, might be a better fit in the girly shoes thread though rather than unusual or probably never wear.
  21. Earlier in the week I recorded a Sky Arts Playhouse Production called The Pavement Psychologist and I just got around to watching it. Some interesting heels and a focus on footwear to a small extent. Worth a watch if you have Sky or can download it as the story was OK too.
  22. One of those little facts of life, stood up from a crouching position and my knee gave way and has been very painful to walk on since. I can now make it upstairs without using my good leg to heave me one step at a time so it's improving but can't take too much lateral movement. It will heal, so I'll be able to heel.
