  1. With membership now showing 144. Some of that figure will be the original group of around 50-60, if I remember the figure, when I became 'active' on the board a couple of months ago. Since that time, many more have joined, and there are new posts most days, making it worthwhile visiting. :-D The site still hasn't developed a personality yet though ... This will need more posts from the membership. The "Hello" section is doing well, with new members giving us all some idea of how they got started with their interest in heels. Contrary to what might be believed, these always make for interesting reading. Dunno an 'incident' [caught, nearly caught) thread somewhere, might be useful? .... Now there's a thought. I might write up a sizing thread, comparing different sellers sizing to indicate what is likely going to fit. Almost all stores now do mail order, which is helpful, but the cost of returns is always unwelcome. Certainly with a company like ASOS, the delivery and return charges, can be all but prohibative. Getting it right first time is always best. ....
  2. Looks like Camden it is. ;-) "Select" currently have a PU 4 1/2" stilletoe court shoe for
  3. I think it prudent that you be advised, your thread is showing signs of becoming something outside the accepted remit of the site? [For the most part ~ men wearing heels.] But to answer your question .... "Sandle-toe" hose doesn't have a reinforced toe, and is probably most suitable for shoes. High 'sheen' hose with body control will look something like >> this << though my feeling on this type of hose is that it isn't really suitable for men.... Experience suggests >> this << is more practical. :-D
  4. Looks like I may be visiting London on Friday, in heels. Subject to confirmation ..... Camden late afternoon, possibly around 5pm, with a short journey to Oxford Street for more browsing. Some inexpensive Italian food around 8 or 9pm. Or .... Westfield for a short walk and some food, around 6.30pm, to around 8 or 9 pm. Will be joined I hope by one other member, and probably my (female) walking partner. :-D
  5. Yep, the green skin and second head are great distractions. :-D
  6. Post borrowed from another Forum on this site: Just click on the post link [arrowhead immediately to the right of the authors name] to see the original. :-D
  7. I've a number of times found myself going to public places in heels, and would have liked to have shared the experience with other like minded people. There are regular places I go to, mostly around London, though Lakeside (Essex) and Bluewater (Kent) are also popular. I've started this thread as 'primer' to anyone else who might be out in heels around the UK, and would like to meet F-2-F with others who share our interest. I for one don't expect to meet others wearing their heels, especially if they are joining me at a local (to them) location. That said, what I mean is; I don't expect to meet men wearing their heels. ;-) :-D I'm fairly discreet. I'm slim-ish, and for the most part wear long jeans/trousers over thick-ish 4" heels. Basically, I look taller than I usually do, and other than that don't look much different to when I wear flat shoes. ;-) So should I be fortunate enough to meet of you while out and about, it won't be me 'sticking out like a sore thumb'.
  8. Huddersfield? I think I'll start a specific thread in Chit Chat Cafe, where a last minute meet thread might be more appropriate? I certainly won't expect to be looking for it in the Website Requests Forum. :-D
  9. As a general fashion statement, (so applies to men and women alike), the whole purpose of shoe over boot is to show some flesh. ;-) Okay, not necessarily naked flesh, but dark hose seems a bit counter to the purpose of a shoe over a boot? Since you asked, I would suggest flesh/neutral coloured hose of good quality and low denier rating. I too would be loathe to wear any shoe without some sort of foot covering (hose/sock), so appreciate where you're coming from with your remark. I've recently acquired, some all but transparent flesh coloured "knee highs" (go to the top of my calf and no higher). Look absolutely awful on their own, but hidden under jeans, allow the wearing of pumps/court shoes with a 'naked' look, even when my ankle and foot is covered. :-D
  10. @shyguy: You know I've said this before (once or twice) on other forums .... but, my thinking about age being pertinent to our interest ~ is this; Around 16 years old to perhaps late 20's, younger people are not so bothered about the personal tastes of others, if they aren't 'mainstream' as most of us understand it. Meaning, were I 25 years old, and I told my 20 year old girlfriend I was interested in wearing heels, I suggest (because I can't know for sure), that there's a better than even chance this would be acceptable to her. Possibly because at that age, I would not necessarily be considered a longterm marriage (ie family) prospect.... Again, later in life maybe when closer to retirement age, to a point where age/time together has given two people both confidence in their relationship and place in life, men wearing heels may not be a complete catastrophe. Some have reported their spouses offer full support if it makes the wearer happy. And if I were to fall into a category at all, I suppose it would be this one. Seems for most (though not all), the middle years might be the more difficult? The fear of creating the wrong impression in the immediate circle of friends/work colleagues, can be quite a threatening prospect that becomes an effective barrier to experimentation.... What say you? @purplespirit Welcome. :-D Please do let us all know how you get on. Your views, experiences and suggestions will be of interest to us all.
  11. You've a lot of self-control to own the one pair. :-D "Hello" and welcome.
  12. Great story. Not at all boring. I'm sure many of us here, have had similar experiences over the years. But most here are men dressing as men full-time, but have a taste for wearing heels rather than going the full 'en femme' route you have now tried. [Have you looked in at HHplace.org where it's maybe not so unusual for some of the membership to have tried crossdressing?] Interesting remark about age, and the single (so far) response. I'd offer that historically, younger people would be out practicing whatever their interest is/was, rather than writing about it online. More recently, with the upsurge in self-publicity [Facebook, Twitcher, Blogging,] it's maybe not so unusual for younger people to spend time sharing their personal experiences as/when they happen? I wish I had the confidence I have now, when I were younger. It may not have led to me wearing heels full-time, but certainly everyone who knows me, would know I wear heels..... And possibly everyone would have seen me wearing them, at least once.....:-D
  13. Sounds like a familiar story ... ;-) If I were to be jealous of anyone over anything, it would be that. :-D I'm very envious of you .... in a friendly 'wish I were you way' ....
  14. Rather frustratingly, I've just spent 2 hours editing something I started 2 days ago, only to find on "send" the RJ45 plug had left my computer. All work lost.... Maybe when I calm down a bit, I'll recompose the whole thing.
  15. Last year I told my mother, and her only remark (which she repeats from time to time) is; "Why don't you wear them all the time?" My father will never find out though, if I have anything to do with it. That said, he's unknowingly seen me wearing them a number of times.... Sounds like you want to tell your famiy for a reason? Are you planning to start wearing them full-time? Without lots of further background information, the best advice many of us could give, is to propose making a list of benefits vs drawbacks. One drawback, has got to be 'disappointing' your parents, against their expectations. It's why I don't plan to tell my father. I look forward to reading further responses, and news on any progress. ...
  16. If there's a problem here at all, it's that (as mentioned before) it sits in the shadow of HHplace. You are right about posting. In the short time I've been active here (4-6 weeks perhaps) membership has almost doubled. Posts haven't kept up. In fact many posters here are regulars at HHp too, and I'm glad to hear from them. With over 50 new -recent- members, it would be pleasant to see perhaps half of that member starting to contribute? The "Welcome" area is a great starting place. For my part I never stop being curious to how people get interested in wearing heels, nor hearing about their experiences, no matter how limited that might be. The type of footwear people are interested in, is also worth hearing about. For me heels have quite a visual appeal, so seeing pictures of shoes or boots worn by members would be great contribution too. So there's 3 or 4 things anyone and everyone could contribute with? If you are a 'newbie' and haven't posted yet, perhaps you might like to tell the rest of us about some of these things. Possibly you feel your story might be a bit dull? I've yet to see one myself. First hand accounts are always of interest, as are any 'nearly caught' stories. Some people who have become members might also be a little unsure as to why they are interested in heels, and maybe are a little embarressed about their interest? Why not enjoy the anoniminity of the Forum, and discuss your doubts and fears with like-minded people? I heard a great story last year at one of the HHp meets. A chap who had been a secret wearer of heels had become miserable with it over the years, thinking his was a completely unnatural desire. Apparently he wept with relief, when he found (thanks to the Internet) that his desire was far from unnatural, and in fact was shared by many other men. I have to admit that until 15 months ago, I too thought the only other men interested in wearing heels were transvestites, and drag queens. Thankfully, I now know better. So new members, please feel free to contribute. We ALL really do want to hear from you. .....
  17. I think I would need a few goes at this, but since I can't ...... I like the look of a pointed toe, but find an almond shape the more comfortable. So providing it was designed to fit me, a pointed toe boot. Black leather, with leather stacked heel, in fact not unlike the Harley Davidson boot I already own, but with the leather heel closer to 5" in height. Possibly 4.75", walkable, but a slow walk .... The heel might be slightly angled forward to help with my walk, and not unlike the Western Ranch style. If I'm in a hurry, I would wear flats after all. Unlike the HD boot, the top of the boot would only come just above the ankle and be fairly tight, providing ankle support. No platform of any kind, but to come with a well padded footwell. These would be shoes I'd like to be wearing ALL day of course. .....
  18. Hey, steady .... They're a very good copy of the
  19. Still in business, and "I will ship to anywhere in the world". Chap sounded a bit Greek? [Which might not be news to anyone but me.] I mention this because the two chaps who used to run The Little Shoe Box in London, came from (roughly) the same part of the world as Mr Western Shoes might have? Didn't have the gumption to enquire about prices..... It won't be the sort of money I'm used to paying, that's for sure. Better start saving ..... ....
  20. With those trousers, the heel looks practically invisible. How do you find them to walk in, starting to get easier? I've not ventured anywhere in mine yet, as asphalt will wreck the heeltip in no time at all (though I now have spares) and paving slabs have heel scuffing edges ..... So I'm looking for a restaurant/bar/theatre/cinema/mall that I would be comfortable at, wearing stilletoes. Oxford Street is an obvious one, but the paving there doesn't lend itself to thin heeled shoes or boots. I've some equally high [4 1/2"] thin-block heeled boots I wear in the West End that are wide enough to keep out of the cracks, but the ones you have look much more .... "expensive"? Even though they may not have been. .....
  21. Recent Ebay purchase by any chance? I entirely agree, the only important opinions/feelings, are those of your immediate family. As before, good luck with the journey. ....
  22. Ooooh. I think many here will know you sir! ;-) I've said this many times; Often, the thing stopping us doing what we'd like to do, is us. ;-) You've a head start over many anyway, in that you've a supportive GF. Go enjoy. ....
  23. Thank you for the link. I'll try to get in touch next week.
  24. I think you are being optimistic. :-D I agree you did all the right stuff, and successfully averted what could have been a catastrophe. If you are going to get 'made', it doesn't want to be by a close family friend who might broadcast your interest should she ever stop being friends with your daughter? If ever your eldest announces she wants to be a detective though, please don't stop her. She plainly has an aptitude for it. :-D And just to worry you a bit further ..... When a teenager and sometimes finding myself with access to the inner sanctum that was my parents bedroom, I would go over the room with a fine toothcomb, not searching for anything, just being 'child' gauge nosey. It was how I started wearing heels IIRC. I found some of my mums shoes, and tried them on. Which got me to where I am now ..... I think by the time you get 'proper' caught (red-handed caught), your girls will have suspected for some time, and probably, won't be bothered. As long as you're not caught by one of their friends too, because then they might have to excommunicate you publically, to save face.... Safe journey. ....
