  1. Today I finally had the opportunity to wear the boots Freddy gave me a while ago, albeit just around the house. I had offered to do some vacuuming and other chores while my wife was out and it just seemed like a good idea to wear these boots. I also had just been out and had my black jeans on which meant I could see how they looked with them and how they covered the heel. When I first got them both my wife and I thought they looked small in size but they are in fact perfectly sized for my feet. Wearing them today the only thing I found was the rise to the heel felt very steep considering they aren't extreme high heels. They are easy to walk in though and apart from making my arches ache after about half an hour are very comfortable. The boots are also very quiet on all the laminate floors in my house. Anyway here are the pics, I think you'll agree even my usual length of jeans seem to cover them well...
  2. Another great example of other people being too busy to notice what you're wearing on your feet in this line Freddy. Possibly she didn't notice because you walk naturally in heels and also from the few times we've met and spoken I'd say you have a lot of confidence which goes a long way to covering up the little things and stops you stumbling when walking or talking. Maybe your colleagues are more embarrassed to bring up the shoes they found and moved than you would be, I can see how it could be a difficult subject for some people to discuss.
  3. I like the look of those, will have to watch ebay and the sales for them later in the year
  4. I was just browsing around Youtube and saw a video about the "walk a mile in her shoes" events. I followed some links and found this Facebook page which says thet a walk in her shoes event in London supposed to take place today (19-6-11) has been postponed. I just thought it strange we'd all missed it
  5. Well I got back into a pair of heels today for my dog walk this morning. As it was wet my boots were ideal and the change in posture helped ease a niggling pain in my back again. The dog was happy to enjoy a longer walk too How was the Bullring Freddy and did you succumb to the dreaded flats?
  6. It's strange that I was going to write a similar post to yours Freddy but you beat me to it. I've been busy with life in general including some diy projects around the home and haven't had the inclination to wear heels for a few weeks or more either. I've also not missed the heeling feeling as such, and have not even bothered with heels for dog walking on the weekends which was a given for a long while. Maybe this weekend though. A thought just popped in my head, maybe because it's summer and not really boot weather that I haven't been wearing heels as I only really have heeled boots which are wearable outdoors and nothing else.
  7. I moved this topic from the "Shopping Experiences" forum as that area is more for discussing how you get treated as a guy buying womens shoes in various stores. With the moderator bit out of the way, I've got to say the shoes pictured are very outrageous and wouldn't be something I'd consider personally, but to each their own. Do you actually own these boots BootedUp? If so how do you find them to wear and where would you wear them? Just curious, thanks for posting the pics.
  8. Thanks for the links to the Pierces, I have heard their music before but didn't know the name of the band behind it. I like their style too.
  9. You'll find you'e in good company here. I am also in my 40's but married. It would be good to see some of your shoes posted and to hear of any of your stories or thoughts regarding your choice of footwear. Look forward to hearing more from you.
  10. I think that would be my view too, if he looks like something out of a comedy sketch then probably not. I'd say if the friend was going out in a skirt and looked ok then probably yes. Good analogy though Freddy, taking us into the situation as we appear to others can only help to make us more aware of how others might be feeling when we stray from their accepted view of how things should be.
  11. Which seems to prove that the oft repeated phrase "most of the fear is in our own heads" is true and worth repeating. Brave move though considering this is a business client it could have had an impact. You must have read the situation well.
  12. Let me know if any are for sale and which ones as I may well be interested.
  13. Thanks for the mini review FF. Might look into getting a pair again.
  14. A great looking boot for sure. Thankfully only a max size of 41 so very unlikely to fit me or I might have been a little tempted too.
  15. The trick to getting rid of your unwanted stuff on freecycle is to put it on as an offer, often people don't realise they need it until it is offered on there As for being on here a bit early, I am an early riser every day and for some reason earlier on days I don't have to be up. Go figure.
  16. For disposing of your unneeded stuff, have you tried freecycle? Usually someone wants the leftovers of wood and rubble etc. for their own project and will collect it, saving you the time and petrol of the dump run.
  17. Strange coincidence as I have seen these styles with heels and as a wedge and thought they'd possibly be suitable for any of us heel wearing males to wear incognito. Was in New Look last weekend when I saw the ones you linked to and quite liked them too, so it will be interesting to read your comments on them. I have considered just diving in and buying a pair on a few occasions though.
  18. Looking forward to those pics and video.
  19. Ebay + Boredom = slightly annoyed wife. I was bored and browsing boots on Ebay as you do when I spied some 2" heeled wedge boots. I placed a stupidly low bid which won, and paid and forgot about it. Today they arrived and when I got home I got a rather cold reception as I was handed the box. I'm not sure if it was the fact I hadn't told the wife first, or that she is waiting for two pairs of Converse trainers and was disappointed that they weren't in the box which arrived today. :-) Ironically one pair of Converse she bought are mens and I didn't waste any time pointing out the irony as she was using my Paypal account to buy them after all the discussions we have had when she states I can't have a pair of shoes because they are womens shoes. Maybe have some pics soon.
  20. I know I'm not model material for this :-) but it sounds like fun though.
  21. Looking forward to hearing more about your footwear, and the promise of pictures too. Welcome to the site and hope you stick around and join in the conversations.
  22. Great find with some good looking shoes being showcased by the pair of them.
  23. I was given an award at work for being helpful, and the actual award is £50 worth of shopping vouchers. As my wife was reading the back of one of them and I was reading another it seems we have different ideas for their usage. I noticed they were valid at Brantanos, Shoe Zone, Barrats. My wife only seemed to notice they were valid in non shoe related shops. I'm hoping we can strike a deal on the use of the vouchers What do you guys think, shoes or clothes?
  24. See there you go again trying to make us all jealous lol. That's a real boon to a shop when the assistants can be as positive and helpful to all their customers as the one you dealt with. Far from overshopping the store it seems you got yourself noticed and seen as a good and worthwhile customer too. Nice boots you ended up with and a real bargain you otherwise might not have got, win win win then.
  25. A nice looking pair of boots, and I like the shape of the front for a bit of stealth with longer jeans. Looks like you found a bargain with all the reductions too.
