  1. Hope everyone lurkers and posters alike has had a great Christmas day. Anyone get heel related gifts?
  2. Some great looking shoes in the pics you linked. Like the RI Chelsea boots I'm in MK tomorrow but shopping for xmas with my little girl to get Mrs Shyguy a few gifts so no chance to look at heels. Although she does want some new boots which could give me an excuse lol.
  3. Great looking boots Ludovic. I like the second pair in your list out of all of them. The last pair do look like a great pair to try though
  4. Great write up Freddy and loving the accompanying pictures. I don't recall Rhianna mentioning she almost met you and Mrs Freddy, while she was out, in any of the showbiz columns though maybe she just didn't recognise you Her loss
  5. Nice find Freddy and thanks for the video linked too
  6. I like the look of those boots, might have to kep an eye out for sales and Ebay. Thanks for the link Freddy.
  7. Yes thanks Freddy, was in a lot of pain and had time off work but back at work and pain is almost gone completely.
  8. Another good day out then Freddy. Liked the knee boots but not at that price I'm with you on those platforms you didn't like the style of, and in red too Glad you didn't damage your ankle with your slips, I personally injured my leg last week and have been in pain for a week (not heel related but no heeling while it's healing).
  9. I was going to say I wasn't too keen on the flared bottoms of the jeans but noticed you'd already said it Freddy I have an old pair of jeans of my wifes which are stretch jeans and so comfortable. Originally BHS ladies jeans, now mine. I got those and wore them when she had a clearout and even Mrs Shyguy commented how good they look on me, but I can't try any other womens jeans ever again I have a pair of leggings I liberated too but they're only to wear under my jeans when motorcycling as an added layer for warmth, Mrs Shyguy is aware although not completely approving. She understands how cold it can be though as she has suffered my frozen body against hers when she has been in bed a while before I get back from a motorcycle outing the leggings helped prevent her getting cold the next time
  10. Just took a look at the pics Ludovic, very nice looking boots and under the jeans I doubt anyone would realise they weren't mens boots unless they really looked hard. It's great that you found the courage to walk out in those heels, not crazy at all. I know what you mean about the heels making a noise too, but you'll find it's mainly in your own ears, when I walked out in heeled boots (dog walking) I could hear them so loudly but when I was passing one of my neighbours on another occasion I noticed his mens shoes made more noise. You're just acutely conscious of your own sounds as you have been conditioned to think what you're doing is not acceptable in public so you feel vulnerable and look for anything which might give you away. As for the wife, I'm sure nobody here will tell her if you don't lol.
  11. Wow, what an inspiration you are. The inner strength you must have to carry on and accept a dare like the one written about in your tale is just exceptional. Thank you for sharing your story. And as has been said, Kudos to your friends too for supporting you and challenging you too.
  12. Thanks for sharing your experiences Ludovic. I've only tried womens shoes on once in a shop and they were flats. My wife wasn't happy then. As for the phone wielding schoolgirls, you can already here the giggling and "eeeeewwwww's" as they showed their friends the pics if they'd got them. Not to mention the "LMAO" on Facebook et al. Not a great way to announce your secret to the world. Yeah tried that too, when asked what I'd like for xmas I usually show some stores website displaying footwear at least twice. Never worked yet
  13. Nice finds, Ludovic, although the thin heels wouldn't be appropriate for someone of my build my favourite of those would be the second pair (Mercy) . I like the lace loops on those and the rounded toebox. All are great looking shoes though but I'm guessing pretty pricey?
  14. Shame about the camera being left in the car, but sounds like all in all it wasn't a bad day. I wonder if the "Afro-Caribbean girl" who saw you and tried to get a better look for her and her friend have ever felt uncomfortable for being different if they haven't I'm sure someone in their family could tell them what it was like to be stared at for being different. Still you handled it well and it turned out ok At least your fears about the security in the place weren't realised during your trip too, as we always say most of the fear comes from within our own heads. Why did you miss out Barratts ?
  15. I'd love to read a review of the internacionale shoes. Some nice boots linked too, a little expensive for me too. Particularly liked Style 1. The DP boots were nice too. Great finds.
  16. Sounds like a good day in the end then Freddy, and it got you out of the house. I hope things pick up for you and the good times return soon.
  17. As an inexperienced driver you should take all the help you can get to keep things easy. Wear flat shoes while driving at least until you get used to driving some more. I used to wear ballet flats to drive to work each day as I had a 60 mile trip each way. Once you have full control of a car and more confidence then move on to driving in heels. I have driven in heels too, and found they can make things more difficult but not impossible. Most women I know also wear flats to drive and change when they arrive at their destination. BTW Freddy, good to see you posting and finally hear about the Cardiff trip. Glad you and Mrs F had a good time, and all that time in heels way to go
  18. Sounds much like my own situation, so much happening here still that time and motivation are in short supply. Hope you enjoy your trip to Brum, I'm sure we can look forward to a full report
  19. It is all very quiet, but your postings are well received and often stimulate a discussion however brief it may be Personally I have very little to offer at the moment, no shoes in the offing and a full house at the moment means the opportunity to wear heels doesn't arrive very often.
  20. Seems like the heeling hiatus is continuing for most of us. I know for me it's been all boring mens shoes for a while. Until today that is, I decided it was time to bring out the heels and walk the dog again.
  21. My wife was going out for a night with some friends and trying on some clothes and shoes. When she was trying her 2 inch heeled mary jane style shoes one of our daughters popped in and commented prompting her to take them off the possibles list. My daughter tried them on and much hilarity ensued as she nearly broke her ankle in 2 inch heels. When it all quietened down, my wife asked me to put the shoes away, but instead I put them on. My wife dared me to go show our daughters how to walk in heels. Not needing to be asked twice I walked along the landing past the girls in their rooms. Our sixteen year old didn't seem too upset that her dad could walk better in heels than she could though.
  22. It's great that you have found a good reason for wearing your heels outside, in the "Walk A Mile" events. I was recently looking at the event in London England which has been postponed. I found your remark about all your friends trying on the shoes interesting as it kind of mirrors an experience I had wearing heels at a party for fun. I think every guy tried them out, and one wore them for about an hour. It begs the question of how many men are interested in wearing heels given the chance. At least you have started preparing your friends to accept you wearing heels if indeed you are intending to wear them more often.
  23. Nice video Freddy, noisy heels may give you away but other than that the trouser length and style is just about perfect.
  24. I do plan to wear them on an early morning weekend walk soon.
