    Mules

Just got these off Ebay. Heels just over 4 inches, and slim at the back - about half and inch. I'm looking forward to wearing these in the warm weather we might have. I like toe-post sandals and snapped these up as they're the highest I've seen. They're Harley Davidson! Why on earth they do high heeled sandals I have no idea, but I wouldn't choose these for riding a hog. However, I'm not complaining. The jeans are hiked up to show the heels - they are floor length but might well get hooked up between my heel and the top of the wedge as I walk. Maybe they'd be best with shorts...

    Jealous!

In some cases I'm sure it's a question of having worn them as marriage bait, but now no longer needing them. As someone once asked, 'If all brides are beautiful, why are there so many ugly married women?' Funnily enough, my elder son doesn't seem to have a high heel gene in him. He's recently married a girl who, like her mother, doesn't seem to possess any heels over an inch high.
  3. My local citizens had a nice sighting of a man in heels yesterday! Me... I was, as usual, wearing my 4.5 inch wedge boots under long cords to go round our local market, and got back to the car to find a very flat back tyre. Nothing for it but to change the wheel in full view of everyone with my heels plainly visible to everyone. No comments, but then I never have. I even had a very kind guy stop and help me. I'm rather glad I wasn't in stilettos, even if only because I'd have found it more difficult to use the wheel wrench...
  4. OK, Won these on Ebay. Not as high as I'd have liked and a bit on the small side, but at least they're something like what I wanted.
  5. Those are the ones I asked the seller a question about and she immediately hiked the price by nearly 50%. I told her I wouldn't buy them on principle because she did that, and she didn't like me calling her sneaky. If I'd just ordered them I'd have got them at the advertised price. I've put a bid on a pair of wedge loafers. Not as high as I'd like (about 3.5 inches) but the only ones anything like what I've been looking for. They come up a bit small for size, apparently, but I'll just have to see whether they fit.
  6. Well, my favourite 5.5 inch stilettos have worn down so that the metal ferrule hits the ground. Perhaps I should try those before reheeling them... I think Brighton would be the best place, as there's an anything-goes philosophy there, and it's quite noisy in places.
  7. How about these? Very shiny... I picked them up in a local charity shop.
  8. Now you know the reason why I wear boots.... ;-) I'd heard a similar expression substituting Harwich and Frinton, BTW.
  9. Out in public. Photo to prove it. OK, I didn't go far as the heels made quite a racket in the quiet street, but a first for me. I had my other wedge heels on for the rest of the day and probably covered at least three miles in them, as I was putting out leaflets and afterwards my wife and I went for quite a long walk along the seafront (Seaford) and round the shops.
  10. Just bought these. Spur-of-the-moment thing - 90 minutes left on auction, no other bids, about £6.50 including carriage. Five inch heels with an inch platform. Thinnest heels I possess - about 8mm wide. Really easy to walk in, and if I can have the guts to wear stilettos I'll be on the street in them, and hiking, perhaps, as they have rubber cleated soles. Not good for mud, though ;-)
  11. I love them, although they're not as subtle as closed-in styles. I have several pairs of sandals with block heels - I've worn one pair under long jeans and no one noticed. I'd love to try stiletto sandals but that might be a bit much to start with. They're so beautifully wobbly, though!
  12. Got them, thanks, and they look absolutely wonderful - just what I wanted. If you see some high wedge loafers in your travels...
  13. I'm fortunate she tolerates my heels. I think it might be going a bit far to ask her to choose, but perhaps if a timely moment arrives, I could do that.
  14. Those first ones sound very much like what I'd like - in PU for now. They're an understated style with a lovely elegant heel. How would you like to arrange payment etc? Paypal? Send me a PM.
  15. At least 4 inches with no platform, in PU or leather as I think they are less obvious than suede. Let me know what you have... Even better if I could get some by Thursday!
  16. Just bought these on Ebay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/371560314636 They were cheap, and possibly not my favourite style, but they are unusual and I'll see what they look like on my feet. I also want some plain black stiletto ankle boots - I've decided to push things by wearing stilettos in public to see what the reaction is...
  17. Welcome - the beginning of your love for heels sounds similar to most people's stories although I doubt many stole them! I's a great help when your wife knows. Mine tolerates me wearing them, and I'm going out in them in public more and more.
  18. What do you mean about sale them? I'll be interested to follow those shoes and see if she sells them and if she lowers the price. I think the sandals are New Look but I'll check.
  19. Interesting experience with a sneaky Ebay seller. I enquired about some shoes that have been advertised for a while, at a price rather more than I would normally pay. Guess what? I suddenly notice she's increased the price from just over £40 to £60. I told her to get stuffed. I don't want to deal with people like that.
  20. Re wide band, I got these from Ebay a few months ago, and they are extremely comfortable, and my foot is nicely balanced in them with good weight distribution between sole and heel. I'm sure the second strap is the reason. With just the toe strap my feet would slip down and they'd be very uncomfortable.
  21. I find myself more likely to go over in flat shoes - possibly I'm more aware of the surface in heels.
  22. Haha! So now find me some elegant block heels if you can't come up with wedges! These are the only others I have, but my wife doesn't like these either. The heels are 4 inches, but you can see they're narrower.
  23. These are the ones: lift 3.5 inches, total heel just under 4 inches
  24. Oooo. That's a shame. I thought for a minute... My wife doesn't like my block heeled Oxfords. She says they look like old women's shoes!
