How do sellers get away with this word faux? If they used the English word no one would buy them! False leather? Either they're leather or they're not -
Oh indeed. I don't like her choice in shoes, but you can't have everything...

Yes, I think she's doing a wonderful job, especially as she voted to remain. A milder version of Maggie Thatcher? A lot of people hated her but I admired her courage, and she helped get the UK out of a very large and deep hole. No, I don't want to be drawn into any heated discussion about her - just a comparison... We should definitely campaign for zero VAT on high heels!

I'm surprised you're finding so little outlet for them. Let me know what you have with heels over 4 inches (all styles) and I promise to give you more than Ebay are allowing you!. -
Surprised that term hasn't been decimalised. Ideal bike for heels - no chain, no gears, and a wonderful excuse for 30 inch heels
-
I was just trying to introduce something heel-related to the cycling conversation! Perhaps they should be made obligatory for the Tour de France. Could be interesting on the hairpin bends. En haut les talons... Now I'll turn back over and go to sleep
-
But do you wear heels on your bike? ;-)

My usual wedges with rubber heels, so silent, although the floor was carpeted so that wouldn't have made any difference inside. However, I've worn noisy wedges and stilettos too, and got no reaction. The heels don't show when I stand, but they do when I walk or sit down. I've been to conferences with 5000 people present, in my usual wedge boots, and even asked a girl who knew I was wearing them whether anyone had mentioned them to her, but no one had. Regarding foreign travel, I flew to New York last year wearing my concealed heels (about 4 inches), and had to take them off through security, so I was tiptoeing through to keep my trouser bottoms off the floor.
-
My heels are about 4.5 inches. I'd say about a third of the women were in heels of some sort. It was a smart casual dress code. At conferences they dress more smartly, and many heels are higher than mine, even if most of those are coupled with platforms (not the London station variety). Actually, I had a new 'excuse' ready if anyone had commented: it was April Fools Day and my wife had put out the wrong shoes for me... Sadly I didn't get a chance to use that line. No one has ever commented, at various company events, or elsewhere. Funnily enough I've worn heels on the Underground, from Euston to Victoria, so you were just there on the wrong day, Shyheels. ;-)

So I'm at a company seminar with about 100 women in the room. It's so gratifying seeing only one pair of heels higher than mine...

Then here is the ideal place for you and Puffer to chat to each other... I agree with what you say about the genuineness. In the FB groups I mentioned there are always posts from people who seem to think they're like any of the myriad groups aimed at CDs, but in general things keep mainly to heels with men's clothes.

Pleaser Domina leather (not synthetic!). 5.5 inch heels. My favourite stilettos.

Well, at least this has spurred a few contributions! Regarding hiding our true selves, I'd have hoped that this site would be a safe place for people to pour out their troubles and/or give advice and support. After all, it happens on a lot of sites catering to what certain members of 'society' regard as 'perversions.' There are two quite lively FB groups I belong to, where there are contributions by quite a few people. As you might expect, most are from a handful of people but at least you know others are looking at them as there are often lots of likes. I'm not suggesting this should be like FB - just giving an example of active groups. Unfortunately everything comes down to apathy, and it's more effort to keep things going here, actually having to log on specifically, than just to see group FB messages amongst others you'd log on to see anyway. I have a Russboots FB account quite separate from my main one but there are several groups I'm in, and of course private messages are easy and quick. Social media has moved on, whether we like it or not, and also I find sites like this difficult to navigate on my phone. One thing that didn't help in my case was that it took almost a year to be accepted onto this site after I'd sent a request! I wonder how many others were keen but just filed in the in tray for months. I was in contact with another member here during that time, and I gather there were quite a few whose requests were just ignored or 'lost'. I almost didn't bother when I was finally granted access - I felt like telling Tech to get stuffed. He'll probably chuck me out now...

Shyheels. I agree with you about what the site has become - obviously most people have voted with their (high heeled) feet. Re file size, the max is about a quarter of a typical file size taken with my phone or camera, which means that if I want to post a photo I have to edit it first, probably decreasing the size in order to bring the number of pixels down. So nothing can be spontaneous - I have to download the file to the computer, open it on Paint Shop Pro, crop it and probably then still have to reduce the size to bring the number of pixels down enough. So what do peeps suggest? Keep wringing our hands and blame everyone else, or make something of the site? Next question: what?
-
Well, I suppose it's as dead or alive as we make it. If none of us contribute it's going to be dead! I'm as guilty in this as any, as I hadn't logged in for weeks. Perhaps we need a think about what we want and what we're prepared to contribute to. There are at least two heels for men groups on FB, which are very much alive so why not this site? One thing that would help a lot is larger file size possible. It's a pain trying to upload pics here as very few are under 0.5 meg without editing

I will admit to being guilty of helping this to be quiet, as I haven't logged on for a while! I'm in my daily heels but hoping to wear stilettos on Saturday at a pub meeting in Brighton. I'll go in by bus with my public heels and change into my 5.5 inch courts when I arrive.Interesting about HHP. I used to go on it a lot but now don't find it very inspiring. In my view it's never been the same since the interface was changed several years ago.

THIS weather??? Not sure that style would suit me though, and I definitely don't like the sandals. What a waste of heel when you have platforms like that!

I'm trying to find an acceptable way to show my heels to my younger son (25) and his girlfriend. She's lovely and almost bound to accept them. I intend wearing my cowboy boots with 3.75 inch heels on Friday to meet up with them - and her mother! I've worn my concealed heels before, but that's just what they are - concealed. She might have noticed them and recognised them for what they are, but she didn't say anything. I have a dialogue with my wife at the moment who wants me to get rid of anything I wouldn't wear when family and church friends are around, so...
-
Excellent advice! Someone else suggested I wear pink thigh boots.

Well, I did it. Brent Cross in stilettos. I then had a walk in Stanmore, through a supermarket to the high street, then along the high street, bought some fish and chips and walked back to the car park. I then took the food into a park and sat on a bench, as per the picture here, with heels in full view to several passers by. What's the matter with people? I'm sure a lot of people noticed, but I got no reaction at all. What have I got to do to get people talking to me about them? ;-)
-
Nothing was said, although he'd have had to be very unobservant not to notice them. Lovely to wear - I want to go shopping in them, possibly Brent Cross on Wednesday as I'll be in North London with several hours to kill. Of course, I could also wear my stiletto boots...
-
Now wearing these today at work. Remembered after getting here that I have a visitor arriving, and these heels are noisy!
