  1. Giuseppe Zanotti is currently my favourite shoe designer. He consistently produces attractive heeled shoes and boots I'd like to own [but probably never will. ] A couple I saw today while browsing the Internet ...... GIUSEPPE ZANOTTI I18033 US$ 1195.00 GIUSEPPE ZANOTTI WI1704 US$ 995.00 These plus 20% VAT if you import them .....
  2. Little bit of an update ..... My mate out with a girlfriend, found himself in the West End shoe shopping (for her). He sent me some piccies of shoes they'd seen while out .... Mostly a bit OTT (garish) but courts with very high heels. I sent him some piccies of shoes I own and wear. Mostly to see whether he shared the piccies with his girlfriend. HE DID. In fact she took the rise out of one style He also sent a piccy with her wearing her new shoes, which both me and Mrs Freddy liked. [she has good taste in heels.] Though we only exchanged a small number of texts over a short period of time, none of it was negative, and his girlfriend even asked how one pair felt to wear. Quite made my day. Reason for edit: Detail added.
  3. I don't know if Guess have tweeked their web site to stop 'shopping robots' delivering links like Kurt Geiger has, but I couldn't see an image on the link? [Took me to the Guess homepage.] Here is a link that works [i hope.] Guess Carrie on Amazon. And another link with some colour options. >> here << Sadly, Guess come up a little small for me. [i've tried them at various TKMaxx stores.]
  4. Eh? Both liked how you looked in womens jeans, and that it? The only reason I own/wear a mans jean [which I don't find that comfortable unless I get a size too large,] is the cost. And with dark indigo or black bootleg jeans [in three leg lengths] available from Marks and Spencer for £12, I'm not sure cost is much of a consideration, unless put against Primarni mens jeans at £8. I would have thought the only person other than the wearer who would know your jeans were girls stretch jeans, would be your spouse. And I suppose that's the problem right there? Been there, done that. Not on a motorbike for some time [about 28 years]. But more recently on a mountain bike, or out walking in the country. I have no shame when it comes to keeping warm ..... Tights, leggings, leg warmers .... With my legs [twigs] I need all the help I can get to keep them from freezing solid. Mrs Freddy just laughs it off when I start looking at 'girlie' leggings .... She's convinced I buy them to look femme, though how that would be possible wearing a reflective fleece lined cycling bib-and-brace over them, is anyones guess. ....
  5. Full marks for the crazy man! Of course you realise, you're now on a slippery slope .... You now know you can do it ..... How long until ..... And hope she never reads this Forum? Well done Ludovic. The first adventure of many I hope. ....
  6. I've almost got the same 'thing' for jeans/trousers as I have shoes. Must have 15 pairs I've never worn. [similar amount of leggings .....] I'd seen some on House of Fraser site that I fancied, but were out of my price range [really.] They had a sale and I was there ..... So I bought them, just to see how they looked. Front look Rear look They fit, really really really well. [Comfortably tight in all the right places. ] Even in the sale, they were a tad over £60 ..... And I think the bottoms are a little bit too large to be anything other than 'girlie'. Shame. Sooooooooooo tempted. P.S. I'm also wearing 4" Faith ankle boots. .....
  7. Any thoughts on the pictures posted? Turns out there's no 'member only' option .... That I could see anyway.
  8. Yep, what he said. I think anyone would be proud to call you friend, given your courage.
  9. I have to admit that up to the present time, I've not actually had shoes bought for me .... That said, I took some shoes back to a shop today [that I liked but were expensive] and I got the offer of them as a present "If you want?" As I had a birthday a couple of weeks ago ..... I'll see it as more of a genuine gesture than an easy option, if they come back tomorrow - wrapped up....... I was tempted, but then would I actually wear them, mindful of their price? Good to see some piccies. I'm less of a shoe/sandal guy and more of a boot [ankle boot/bootee] kinda fella. Consequently ..... I'd have been interested to see you in the grey boots shown in the mirror on the floor? Sorry to be so ungracious..... You are to be admired for having the courage to try any shoe on in public. Well done you! Keep up the good work. .... Reason for edit: Link added.
  10. whooops! Banana skin moment? Been almost 4 years now since my birthday and Christmas list had anything on it other than footwear ... Not Mrs Freddy's preferred choice of course, but a pressie is a pressie..... ....
  11. My No.1 and No.2 heeling fears wrapped up in one situation. Potentially abusive teenagers and video/pictures published on the Internet. You must have some considerable will-power. Finding myself in an identical situation, I'd have left the store $25 poorer and one pair of shoes richer. Great report. Very interesting read.
  12. We here in the UK are enjoying something of a late mini heat wave. Only last week it was cold enough to need the heating system on, this week we are in 'skimpy' clothing trying to stay cool. Mrs Freddy is busy sunbathing as I write, I'm [supposed to be] busy rubbing down walls. Still. I'm out tonight in London without herself, [she's off out tonight with some friends] and we'll both be out tomorrow night enjoying the warm weather by the Thames, somewhere along the South Bank, All are welcome. .....
  13. I'm good with the Mercy too. Think Mrs Freddy would like the style as well, it being similar to some boots she already owns and enjoys wearing.
  14. Can't understand the idea of 'sandal boots' ..... Bit like perforated wellington boots? Seems to be quite trendy to own open toe boots following on from gladiator styles seen in the past couple of years ... I can understand sandals, shoes, and boots, even shoe boots..... But I'm obviously getting too old [staid] in my taste for this youthful fad. In my day, boots were something worn to protect your feet from inclement or wet weather. How much use is a boot with open toes? .....
  15. Apart from a couple of weeks when we had some sunshine, this has been the coolest, wettest summer here for some time. [something like 20 years.] Things really getting cool now..... My only consolation is that money I might have spent on going out or time away, is now available for buying [yet more] footwear. .....
  16. I'm pretty much in the same position. I had [previously] never purposely walked around my immediate home area in heels, though my choice of [new] home location was to allow the possibility of a certain amount of this. I moved to a small estate surrounded by some light industrial buildings which means that during evenings and weekends, I'm not far from quite desolate long walkways. These provide some walking opportunities if/when I decide I want to use them, but I do get to walk around crowded shopping malls in heels, and these would all be 30+ miles from anyone I know. Mindful the country you live in, I would have no experience [or anticipation] of what I might try to get out in heels. I can only hope you work out something that'll give you some of the opportunity I make for myself, to enjoy wearing heels doing 'regular stuff' in the big real world ..... ......
  17. What could have been my favourite boot of all time, if I'd found them with a US retailer who would ship to the UK. This is a YouTube video, and it not office safe ...... <noisey> Very similar to the Alpine in basic foot shape, but more solid up through the calf to the knee. P.S. @Eoneleg. Cool avatar.
