  1. I'm sure there were UK 7's there earlier today? If I'm going to try a pair of size 8's, I'd better get some ordered? They might be quite popular? Not seen them in store, and I have been looking (for another style) and not noticed them anywhere? (That I can remember.... ... )
  2. Similar to the TopShop shoes in style, but PU and nearly half the money .... >> clicky << Not sure about River Island sizing though, as I've never tried a pair on. Edit for: Grammar.
  3. While window shopping on-line, spotted >> these << which look like very wearable heels for everyday use. Claimed to be 4" high, but look a bit lower at a 2 1/2" to 3" max - I would say? Bit pricey though at £75 .... and currently no EU 41 [realistic UK7] or EU 42 [uK8]. They are a new style, so maybe the 41's and 42's will appear later? And Topshop sometimes discount quite quickly on some styles, so I'll be watching out for these. They're made in Spain and seem to be 100% leather. So maybe worth £75 if the right size is available.
  4. I currently have a SIM only contract [ie no phone] with about a year to run. It's a good deal, £10 per month for £180's worth of air time.... Not a price plan I think I should give up. I could 'upgrade', though this will mean converting to a new 24 month contract and trebling my monthly cost for a similar amount of airtime. [My additional cost for the period: circa £480.] Not attractive. Phone only, I can have a Nokia N8 at around £340, or a Samsung Galaxy S II at £400. That's a lot of money for a camera, though I'm very impressed with the N8 in video mode. Time for a ponder ..... The G3 can come in a kit with two zoom lenses, with the fast 20mm topping the price up to £1000. With some discounts and cashback, that could look more like £800. But I can't make calls with it. .....
  5. If you are going to Oxford Street ....... I always visit all the Zara shops, though most of their styles come up a bit small, and aren't cheap either..... H & M is worth looking into (I now know) ...... There's a huge Primarni [Primark] up at the Marble Arch end, with the flagship New Look practically opposite. There's also a corner shop there that sells slightly obscure heeled shoes, but at attractive prices. Good luck with the appointment.
  6. It did pass, but maybe it shouldn't have ...... Nearly got caught again today, this time by the other [male] owner. Was only my acute hearing [and the ability to almost fly down a stairway] that had me back in flats before I got found. I think on balance, it's time to have a break. Let some dust settle... Guess I need to find other venues for my heeling? .....
  7. Very nice outfit. Don't be afraid to smile or grin next time?
  8. Naughty boy...... Glad to see you've popped back.
  9. That is of course a major consideration ..... Perhaps there's a less expensive 'snapper' digital camera around that looks like a phone? I did get a Fuji something or other a couple of years ago, that's an 'instant on' camera, and it's supposed to work in very low light. [iSO 12800] But the digital noise and focussing system doesn't match the chips light sensitivity. [Duh!] Really, I do want a camera that's going to do more than just take pictures of heels in supermarkets. I need a fairly good camera to do the product stills I email prospective customers. iPhone may well do that, but the G3 will do more. [Mrs Freddy gave me a bit of a hard time about the price today ..... But I choose not to have an annual holiday she takes with friends, so I'm still about 3k in front as far as personal spend is concerned .... ] Here is a link [i hope] to something the G3 with 20mm f1.7 lens can do ..... >> Click <<
  10. Not been out much recently .... Building work has taken priority, as has my 'proper' business, so no photo's for the past couple of weeks. Leading up to Christmas is also the time when there are promotions on cameras and video equipment. Currently there is a kit package for the G3 that includes two of the three lenses I expect to use, and Panasonic are doing Cashback on some systems and their lenses. My current shopping list looks like around £1000 long, so any discount would be welcome. That figure is probably less than half what my shoe collection has cost me in the last 4 years .... If only I knew then ...... I would say 95% of the shoes and boots I own may never get worn by me. There are a small number of styles I will take to my grave with me (so to speak) but there are few I either need, or now want. Having a bit of a reality check I suppose .... Photographing people dressed well, seems more attractive than owning a room full of shoes to high or too obvious to wear out. [Okay, half a room. ] Guess I need to invest some time on that well known internet market place, recapitalising in order to indulge a different hobby? .....
  11. It remains reasonably warm here, for the time of year [Autumn] anyway. The rains have arrived though, so umbrellas and canoes are the order of the day. For reasons only understood by Scottish farmers at the end of the 18th Century, we are again in a situation when we have lighter mornings, and darkness by close to 5pm. In some ways I'm quite keen on this, because it means there are more hours of darkness to cover any time I might be outside in heels. That said, it's a benefit I'm not really getting to realise because of the rain ..... We're not getting the light drizzle of yesteryear either. No, these days rain usually means the UK version of monsoon. Hence the 'canoe' remark.... Roll on Spring 2012.
  12. Looks like my 'incident' has quickly become history. [Thank goodness. ] It's left me a bit reluctant to get back into heels there, but I hope it'll pass. I own too many shoes/boots to cut down on their use, I need to ramp up my heeling after all, not wind it down still further.
  13. Usually this is the sort of opportunity I look forward to, but that week I have to work at a bar covering people while absent at court. [Civil Court .... I thought I ahould add. ] Hopefully the appointment is to confirm you're 'on the mend' rather than there getting any sort of treatment. Either way, I hope the only news you get is good news. ......
  14. Not so lucky today ...... Was wearing heels and working behind a locked front door, in the basement. Got a phone call from the same main owner 'Are you at work?' My response, "Yes I am, just leaving. I'll call you back in 5 minutes." Seconds later my phone starts ringing and doesn't stop until I hear load banging on the front door upstairs. He's here and wanting to get in! Fortunately for me, he hasn't got his keys with him again, so I get a few moments to change shoes. But he doesn't understand why the locked door, and luckily doesn't have time to spend chatting trying to find out why ..... Not today anyway. Not sure where this is going to go ..... But the work looks like ending soon anyway. Which given how many times I've almost been caught, might be a blessing in disguise? .....
  15. Mrs Freddy warns me that one day my shoe watching is going to get me into serious trouble with someones spouse or boyfriend. Have actually gotten close to it once ..... but the fellow who started to make a fuss got more response from me than he expected so he backed off. [He was a proper pyscho anyway, with his behaviour completely untypical and unusual. ] I've been to France a number of times, and the men there are not discreet about women watching at all. I have a similar attitude in certain circumstances.... Of course I'm not rude about it [don't dribble or anything ] but if I look long enough to get 'caught', I always pass an appreciative smile to confirm I'm enjoying the view, not appalled by it. In fact once or twice [in many hundreds of situations], I've felt practically indulged with my voyeurism, by willing participants. Maybe a 'flight-of-fancy', but if it were, I would have thought the incidence count would have been considerably higher? ....
  16. Mrs Freddy slipped on wet leafs, while leaving work a year ago. Damaged her foot so badly, I took her to the hospital to have it x-rayed. Nothing broken, but painful to the touch and a year later, she still has problems with it. Rather strangely, wearing heels makes her foot more comfortable? [Works for me. ] I suspect it's because she prefers boots with laces that due to the nature of the design, is going to keep her ankle and foot less mobile? Glad to hear you're nearly mended. .....
  17. Good news. And you got to see Holly wearing her 8 inch heels. [As per one of the linked pictures.]
  18. We don't have the 'men as girls' theme so much here in the UK. It's still pretty much the children running around neighbours after sweets [candy], them often dressed as ghouls or super-heroes. I'd hoped to get out with Mrs Freddy somewhere, but she's been invited to some do on Saturday, with men folk left to look after themselves. Today I got asked if I wanted to work this Saturday night at a 21st birthday party. Money isn't good, but mindful they'll be plenty of high heels around, I succumbed. In an ideal world I'd be wearing them too, but mindful what I'll be doing, it probably is for the best I'll be wearing trainers. If you are out in costume, have a good time. ....
  19. And that's just the body .... A useful range zoom lens [70-200] can add almost half as much again. [uS$2400.]
  20. E. I have to be careful with my comments sometimes, because my social skills are not 'honed to perfection', possibly due to spending too much time in male company. [Where you are inclined to speak rather plainly.] Hence the slowness to respond to this post..... During the past - getting close to 4 years - at least twice and maybe 3 times, seen two legged women using crutches because one of their legs was broken or damaged in some way, still getting about wearing a heel on the other [good] leg. I have been more impressed with the sight of these women making an effort to dress in this way, than I might otherwise have been. Why? Because it doesn't seem to take a great deal of effort to wear heels under normal circumstances, but to wear them when the obvious choice is to wear flats, says much about the femininity and confidence of the person wearing the heel. [Also refer to Jesse J thread.] The thought of you getting around in an attractive heel, isn't exactly an unpleasant notion. Keep up the good work. Reason for edit: Link added.
  21. Once at Marks and Spencer [with Mrs Freddy], I sat next to an older lady in the shoe section. I'd just had herself try on some quite high heeled sandals, only to be disappointed by her comments they were so poorly designed they felt dangerous. Marks are known for their build quality [with price to match] and range of shoe sizes..... So I was a bit cynical about her comments ...... They had my size, and despite the lady sitting next to us, I tried them on. Mrs Freddy was right; they were hard to walk in as the heel wanted to slip from underneath your foot. But interestingly, the lady sitting next to Mrs Freddy remarked [while I tried on the shoes] 'They're lovely aren't they?". Mindful she could have said nothing, it was quite a pleasant thing to say, and a short but good natured chat between us three about the shoes followed. I guess the moral to the two respective experiences is: 'it takes all sorts'? As for picture 03 [if I have the numbering right], the courts with cuffed heel ......... Love them! Buy buy buy! ....
