The saying runs something like "Absence makes the heart grow fonder...." Might be true of love, but maybe not so with me and heels. Playing Bob the Builder [uK children's programme] is keeping me from most of my usual indulgences, the worst of which [most distracting] is wearing high heels. I'm so pre-occupied with housey stuff, I've all but lost my interest in heeling. Suits Mrs Freddy, but is not good news for me. Moving was my idea, so I guess I'm the author of my own predicament. Doesn't make it any easier to live with though. I noticed this situation when going into a part time job I do for about the 6th day without (i) taking heels in with me and (ii) not really missing them. Mostly because I had to be somewhere else ASAP. Today I made a point of wearing them. Felt completely normal, so I've not lost my pleasure in wearing them, just misplaced my motivation? Mrs Freddy is away for a couple of days, so I plan to have a sneaky holiday of my own. Possibly by visiting Birmingham's Bullring shopping centre one day this week. Bit of a journey, something like 110/120 miles each way, so I hope it's worth it. I've never been, and if it's anything like as good as Cardiff, I'll be happy to make the journey. My only concern is ..... what footwear? I've not been out in anything other than my regular cowboy boots for some time, and this is likely to be a looooong day out so it won't be the Schuh 5" stiletto's .... That said, with 100 miles between me and home, surely I should be wanting to wear the most outrageous pair of heels I'll ever wear out? Obviously, I need to find the 'motivation' I've mislaid, and quickly! .....

I'm afraid it's true. Plenty of folk join, and many stay members ..... But very very few care to add content. Even those who choose to contribute lose the momentum after a [fairly short] while. Something that has recently made itself obvious to me, is that this is essentially a 'men only' site. And since most men are interested in women ~ even men who like wearing heels ~ most will (naturally) migrate to Forums where these's a feminine presence..... .....

Ah..... Understood. Bit more understandable, as he's likely to be a bit older. Shame though. If I remember your sister isn't bothered and it must help having acceptance in the family? I guess she's been directed there, perhaps by you or your sister? Brave move. Back to giving away the 'less interesting' styles ..... I conservatively estimate I have perhaps 30 pairs which fit that criteria .... And maybe the wrong side of £500's worth of investment. Whenever I look, I'm always stunned by how many pairs of shoes and boots I have. Only a few styles I don't really like, but many more that either don't fit [too small or too large] and some wholly impractical. Some 5 1/2" high Pleaser stiletto's for example. Where could I wear them, even if they stayed on my feet? Same with some iconic Diesel 'zipper' stiletto's [that again don't stay on my feet!] A shame as their easy to walk in and deserve to be seen out. Hey-ho. ....

I think you did well to give some heels away. I struggle even with boots that I will or could never wear ..... As for someone being against what society considers normal ..... On a higher level, my immediate [intellectual] response is, "Wouldn't the world be a much duller place if everyone conformed?" (To their respective stereotype). On a more basic personal level, I wonder what future your niece has with a man who at such a young age, has already decided what is and what isn't acceptable to him. I'm doubtless twice his age, and still don't feel the need to find the sexual peculiarities between consenting adults either distasteful or shocking. In fact I'm often disappointed to find out how similar we all are. [Men as men, women as women.] But without this, the phrase 'stereotype' couldn't exist I suppose. ....

Here is a direct link: >> clicky << It's a Spanish firm that appears to trade out of Alicante, or close to it. Probably just a bus ride down the coast from Benidorm. Interesting site, that Google (Chrome) provides translation for. .....

As did (and do) many of us. It's a great relief to find some 'normality' in a desire we don't fully understand...... Don't be shy now you're here. Something you might tell us could be surprisingly interesting, informative, and even provide relief to someone else who doesn't understand their taste in footwear. Welcome to the forum. ....

And one from the same band in a slightly more heavy-metal stylie ...... From Jool's Holland BBC2 show >> << And to keep you all 'on message', a still taken from the performance. >> clicky << ....

I know a couple here are into music, and to a degree so am I. [usually dance music though.] While surfing You Tube, I tripped over the [two] girl group; The Pierces. Thought I'd leave some links for others to get acquainted too. Bit of a Retro vibe going, but these girls are really talented, and quite easy on the eye too. If you are going to skip any, leave the first. The other two vid's are slightly more serious work and worthy of a complete run through. As usual, these won't be 'office safe', so headphones or volume set to very low will be required. .....

I've been listening to her fairly well known Club singles for a couple of years. Stumbled across some 'Live' video's tonight and found she wears (very) high heels for her live performances. I liked what I saw and thought the members might do too. These video's are NOT office safe. Turn your sound off or plug in headphones. 2009 Music Awards Footwear for the show 2010 Music Awards [bit of a slow start] Footwear for the show Was entertaining for me. ....

Welcome to heels for men HighHeeler
FastFreddy2 replied to HighHeeler's topic in Hellos and Welcomes
It's taken me some time, but I've not only taken some photo's of this area but bought the cable that's allowed me to download them off my cheap phone. So...... First picture is of the entrance on (I think) the third floor. There are three seating couches arranged in a circle. One opposite as you go in, one on either side. Mens toilets to the left, Ladies to the right. Entrance. You can see the couch mentioned opposite the Entrance. Closer view showing the couch on the left, with Mens corridor behind the couch. View up to the Mens toilets. You'll notice it's quite a walk, which gives people plenty of time to watch you walk towards the loos. View out from the Mens toilets. And sight of the corridor that leads into the Ladies toilets [in the background]. I can't remember how I got these photo's with the seats empty, possibly taken as the store closed. Usually there is at least one family spread across a couch, and often all three couches have people on them. The waiting area and attached corridors are so far away from the busy areas, there's not much noise to hide the sound of heels. For me, going in is seldom a problem. I need to go, and I seldom go before I must go. Leaving is completely different. There's no longer any pressure from the water-works, and people have had the opportunity to listen and look at my footwear. And look from what might be the optimum height, while sat comfortably receptive to any passing entertainment. Ears and eyes favourably close to the click clack of heels ..... It's definitely not for the faint hearted. ...... -
All that sweat? Great way to keep the weight down? Seriously, many in the UK would envy the chance for such weather. We all believed Global Warming would bring more Sunshine to these temperate (damp) shores. IT IS warmer when we see the Sun, but usually GW just means more rain. [Moisture from the warmed up Atlantic perhaps?] You've great taste in footwear, if you don't mind me saying. Can't do long boots myself thanks to pencil thin legs, but it doesn't stop me enjoying seeing them worn by others. ....

Seems you and 'Madge' have similar tastes .... >> Stella McCartney perforated boots, seen at Gala << P.S. And Blake Lively [from the US show Gossip Girl] also shares your taste in the perforated version of >> Stella's boots <<. ...

Nah, short legs. These are a Marks and Spencer stretch jean for women. [Due to an anatomical problem - possibly unique to me - womens jeans have always fitted me better around the groin area.] I have just about every style they've made in the last 3 or 4 years. I hope not quite 20 pairs, and that would include some duplicates. My size is a 12 Long. [32/33 inch waist with 33 inch leg]. I tend to buy in Sales, or lower priced in-house styles. Typically in the £12 to £20 range. The ones in the photo are a brilliant fit. I bought them in a Marks+Spencer clearance sale as the style had long been obsolete. Cost me £3. Sadly I can't wear any of these jeans (or trousers) with anything less than a 4 inch heel, and even then I sometimes experience exactly the problem you describe, "heels on jean" (hem). Had a couple of near misses with heels on jeans producing skids that nearly had me on my back, but so far [fingers crossed] only near misses. Part of the 'wearing heels in public' deal I have with herself, is that I keep them discreet. Hence the length. Girls tend to wear jeans long over heels in the UK too, much to my frustration ..... I guess the idea is they are trying to make their legs look longer? An effect on me, I quite like too. Think I've mentioned them before, but a UK budget store called Matalan has produced a Mens stretch jean that came with a 34" leg which I bought while being the temporary owner of some stupidly high heeled boots and needed that extra inch. [Temporary because they went back to the store.] The jeans only cost UK£14, and given my little problem , fit surprisingly well. In fact they fitted so well, I bought a couple of pairs for me to wear with flat shoes too. A note to any UK buyers..... These are currently on sale at half price! I may need to buy some more. ....

Looking good! Any details on the boots?

If your avatar is a pair of your boots, I'd be sorry to have to put them away for any length of time, heat or no heat. If there's any chance of a full length photo of any of your boots, I'm sure I won't be the only one pleased to see it posted here? If your boots are already in storage, maybe later in the year ....... ? ....

Visited Milton Keynes shopping centre last Friday from about 12pm to 2.30pm, hoping to find a couple of mid-season bargains, but no luck. Should have gone today, as House of Fraser have a 20% Sale on. Hey-ho. Stopped off at Toddington services en route, and saw a very attractive lady leaving Costa, wearing surprisingly high heels given it was 11.20am. [Meaning, not off out for the evening?] Managed to get a quick 'snap' off on my cheapie mobile. Of course my supa-dupa instant on digital was as home - as always. Not a bad set of >> wheels << either. MK was fairly busy through the lunchtime. Saw several pairs of attractive heels being worn by women from a fairly wide age range. Don't usually enjoy MK much [always seems a bit souless to me] but evidently things are changing. Had a very pleasant visit helped by lunch at Pret a Mange; a Cafe style eatery proving the very best in light munch type food. I shared a sandwich that was so enjoyable, I wished I hadn't shared it. [Wholemeal bread with crayfish and rocket.] Their coffee isn't the best, but it's still better than StarBunks. ....

I think we'd all agree this sort of reaction is always disappointing, especially from someone young enough to still be fairly uninhibited about such things. But we live in a far from perfect world, and this sort of negative reaction doesn't seem as unusual as we might hope. I spent a small amount of time this morning trying to put a similar 'test' together for all of us. What I came up with seems to be comparable, but I'm not sure: If we [men] had a buddy [man] who liked going out wearing a skirt, would we go out with them? Jury is out for me...... The criteria for my own answer is, What does it look like? If my buddy looked like a fat hairy gorilla , and he liked wearing a mini skirt to show off his hairy pale legs, I'm thinking; "No chance". A more slender profile [not necessarily thin BTW], shaved legs with longer skirt and appropriate [girls] footwear, "definite maybe". Even with the whole ensemble looking like it belonged as it were, I'd still be going out in the knowledge I'd be getting 'looks', sniggers, and even some verbal abuse. [Depending on the where and when of course.] I wouldn't enjoy being at the sharp end of this grief, but I'd like to think I'm man enough to cope/deal with any negative responses while supporting a friend. A situation not unlike the one I had walking around Watford in, I think, 2008 with Dr. Shoe [off HHplace.] He was then still a man, but was done up in full makeup etc. As he was 6ft+ and in heels too, I remember few people not taking a second look. I didn't enjoy the attention, but it goes with the territory I suppose? Back on thread ..... If anything changes with her, do please keep us informed [here], if you wouldn't mind? I'd like to hear if she ever does offer any feedback to the situation. As always, best regards. ...

Telling Or Explaining Strangers
FastFreddy2 replied to HighHeeler's topic in Heelbucks chit chat Cafe
Update...... ["Consequences?"] "D" had to postpone her latest operation, but did eventually have it some 8 weeks ago. < click > She is still unable to walk without her crutches, and will be off work for another 4 weeks. I've yet to photograph M's feet, but a couple of fellas off here have met her. She currently walks with a pronounced limp. If I remember, it'll be three years ago that she had one of her bunions re-done. The hospital only gave her one crutch, so she learned to lean over on one side when she walked. It seems the op left her with some numbness in her foot too. Last year she took a tumble and broke her wrist. There was nothing for her to stumble on, seems she just went over and landed badly. It's starting to look like the lean to her walk [having gotten used to using one side of her torso more with the single crutch] together with the numbness in her foot, may have created a 'stumble' [combination of problems] that might otherwise not have happened on any other day. The foot numbness, and the learned [from using crutch for 8 weeks] uneven gait, has put so much pressure on one hip, it now looks like it needs replacing. Moral to the update..... If any of you people think wearing heels full-time seems desirable, consider the potential consequences. P.S. I only have the bones to the story .... But apparently "W", a slightly younger girl who I work with sometimes, got out of a taxi over Christmas wearing some fairly high heels. Seems the taxi parked a couple of inches further away from the kerb than "W" realised. She put her foot out of the vehicle to support her body weight while pushing herself out of the vehicle. Missing the kerb, her foot landed badly on the tarmac road and the momentum of her exit accelerated. Her foot didn't move further as it was propped against the kerb, and her ankle snapped. No heels for a while then ... Edit: Typo. Edit #2: Sorry about the [unintended] pun. .... -
Spotted in a Tesco store the other day ...... < click > Image quality not good as it's taken by a cheap phone. I still intend to do a short vid of mine soon.

I'd say you have. Welcome to the Forum.

Maybe. I had my original conversation with him after he mentioned a member of his family had "tastes" not altogether considered usual. If I remember, one of the in-laws interests was to have a woman walk up and down his back wearing heels. Obviously, a bit weird?

I had a phone conversation with this chap the other day...... Not spoken for a couple of weeks [he's been very busy with work]. After a couple of minutes of chit chat, he says he's had a change of heart and would be interested in my 'special interest' after all. My immediate remark was "Am I telling you, or am I telling you and the rest of the world"? He says "Me of course." So I tell him. His response...... "Is that it? I thought it would be something much worse!" No pleasing some people. He then asked if I dressed up [en femme] too, to which the answer is and was a 'no'. This was followed by a complete change of subject by him, and about another 15 minutes of conversation. Bit of an anti-climax really ........ ....
