Oh, and I meant to thank you again for the consise and thoughtful discourse on the differences between PU and PVC which you laid out earlier. It was really helpful. My second pair of 'PVCs' were more like the softer, more modern, leathery and form-fitting PU you described and I have to say they are much nicer. I like them a lot. Yet I would not have bought them had I not had the benefit of your advice. So thanks!1 point

Winter has been very long this season, given it started so early in 2015 (Or 2014 given we saw so little sun last year.) I too could do with losing a little off my waistline. I'm hoping to get some time on my bike, which will help, as will 'breaking my back' down at the allotment.1 point

Out in public. Photo to prove it. OK, I didn't go far as the heels made quite a racket in the quiet street, but a first for me. I had my other wedge heels on for the rest of the day and probably covered at least three miles in them, as I was putting out leaflets and afterwards my wife and I went for quite a long walk along the seafront (Seaford) and round the shops.

Agreed; thank you; and I'm sorry if you have felt that anything here was destructive when that is alien to both of us. I do look forward to sharing more DIY-related issues with you, however; I think we both have skills and experiences that are worth sharing - and politely debating where necessary. And I'm glad neither of us is working on the Sistine Chapel, whether on original or repair work.1 point
