Was in Next last night [Oxford Street, opposite Primark] looking for >> these << in a size 8. My thinking being, if Next are going to have these in stock anywhere, it's likely going to be at one of their 'flagship' West End stores. Also spotted >> << so it's becoming obvious to me that a buyer at Next has the same/similar taste in footwear as myself. ;-) I hadn't planned to ask about what was available, I was hoping I could pick something up and try it on - if possible. While browsing for my size (and finding nothing) I overhead the assistant tell a customer; "I'm a size 8 too, and can't find anything here either." That was it then, if the staff can't get their size in store, what chance did I have? Plan "B" is to buy mail-order, which is a lot of trouble for something I don't actually need. There's almost no chance of an impulse buy if going down the mail-order route. Plenty of time for trying on I suppose .... Jury's still out on Plan "B" .... [Never a good sign.] ....

My favoured pair on offer, are the Lip 109. My missus has just looked over my shoulder and asked if I was window shopping for some new shoes. I explained what you are doing and her response was; "Walking 10 miles in those shoes could only ever be a good idea in the mind of a bloke." I think she means no woman would consider walking any distance in shoes she might have bought for walking around a lounge (hers or a friends), or walking into and out of a restaurant? Obviously I don't agree. ;-) When we go out to a Mall, I wear heels, she wears flat (walking) shoes. I still think you're Krazy though. Best I've managed in heels is a little over 3 miles, and my ankles were about ready to give up toward the end of that distance. You've beaten that by some margin already, so maybe you're gonna pull off a 10 miler. As before, I wish you all the very best !! ....

Kev .... You are Krazy .... Good luck with your next walk. Wearing any of those heels looks like you're gonna be 'in trouble' after a very short period, but good luck anyway. ;-) I doubt that I could walk 10 miles in trainers, so 10 miles in HH sandals would be a non-starter for me...... Keep up the good work! ....

Out for an hour last night between 9 and 10pm, walking around my local town. (Too late to drive elsewhere.) Went out with my (heel) walking friend, as she too prefers to avoid spending the whole evening watching TV. Wore some PU ankle boots (from New Look) with 4" heel. Had these for about 18 months and currently on my 7th or 8th set of tips. Soles are getting thin, but they're still comfortable to walk miles in. Tarmac pavement means I only get a couple of lengthy walks from one set of nylon tips, but the upside is the heels are pretty quiet. The metal tips I've tried last waay longer, but are waaay noisier. Being something of a social animal, I'm drawn toward groups, and this meant the busy town centre. While I chose not to walk past two mature ladies sitting at a bus stop, we walked around the outskirts of the town centre where people were going to/leaving a an all night supermarket, and going to/leaving bars and pubs. We weren't the only people taking advantage of the dry windless night. The walk included going through two pedestrian underpasses. [To those who don't know, these would include two opposing direction entrances to each of the four pedestrian walkways which meet under a vehicle roundabout that circles the pedestrian crossover point.] Once commited to walking through these, there's no-where else to go if you meet oncoming pedestrian traffic. Our timing was almost perfect, only meeting one person as we left the first of these crossings.... These walks really are exercise. Sure I wouldn't be taking them if I wasn't wearing heels, but they help keep me trim and give me some much needed practice. I wonder how much I would wear heels, if I had complete freedom to wear them whenever I wanted? I have recently (twice) passed up the chance to wear heels while out, because I needed to be able to move about in a hurry. I suppose a bit like regular heel wearers? [aka women.] I suspect like a lot of women, who at my age might have feet in poor shape from a lifetime of wearing unsuitable footwear, my choices might be few. You may know this already, but in times gone by, it wasn't unusual for a servant to break-in his Lordships shoes for him. If anyone was going to get sore feet loosening up new leather shoes, it wasn't going to be the guv'nor. [D'you think your daughter is letting you know 'your place'? ] On a slightly more realistic note, I wouldn't be at all surprised to find out your children "know" of your interest. Well ..... Day started late due to work. Got to spend 4pm to 8pm walking around the Oracle, with a short break outside to visit Marks and Spencer. Got to Priceless at 6.50pm just in time to watch them close the shop, despite being listed as closing at 7pm .... Probably didn't need 4 hours in the Oracle, and maybe next time would spend more time walking around the precinct outside. Wore Harley boots, and with the exception of one Indo-Chinese looking girl of about 20 with a stunning figure (looked like she had a 14 inch waist), I didn't notice anyone noticing my footwear. Had one little 'moment' in the Mall outside Costa, when my heel skidded from underneath me, but I managed to recover the slip without going over. Ate at Bella Pasta, before leaving Reading. Had to cancel the Henley visit as the satnav told me the journey home was going to take well over two hours. Also meant I didn't get the evening out wearing the >> Priceless boots << I expected to wear... I've been to Westfield a couple of times, and if I had left Reading earlier, there was some prospect of visiting there being a "Plan B". However, I'd overstayed, and going home was the only real option. I'm hoping the next time I go to Westfield, I have the courage to wear stiletto's .... I mention this in passing.... I wouldn't normally contemplate doing such a thing, but the floor is flat and even, and it's a very 'dress up' kinda place. :roll: If I'm ever going to wear some of my >> really nice boots << out in the real world, it's going to somewhere like Westfield. Dropped a prescription request off (for my father) at the Doctors this morning. Heading back toward my car, a young girl I'd say was aged about 9 or 10 years old, climbed out of the car parked in front of mine. She slammed shut the door she'd just exited, and shouted to another passenger; "Listen to my high heels". With her one inch wedges, she clip-clopped to the Doctors entrance and back, grinning at her fellow passenger. Sure, the shoes made a noise when her foot landed. "Can you hear them?" I didn't get the passengers answer, but I had one of my own: "Yes." That girl is gonna be breaking hearts in another 10 years!! :roll: ......

After a bit of a lull, membership has started growing again. :roll: What's more interesting, is the 'Most Users Ever Online' was increased again today (Tuesday). Folk (members) may not be contributing, but at least people are coming here for a read! :oops: :roll:

While in London on Sunday, I finally found one of the M+S straight-leg waisted stretch jean styles I've spent so much time trying to find. Why am I so keen? I bought a pair in the Winter sales, in early 2008. They are perfect for wearing with heels. Comfortable, fitting everywhere and the stretch material allows the trouser leg to hide a heel. Plan "B". Left too late to get to Lakeside, so went to Oxford Street. It's closer, and open until 6pm on Sundays. Did Selfridges, Zara, Next, Aldo, John Lewis, stopping at Debenhams. Wore my 4" Harley boots. Not sure how many people noticed, but I did get a big smile from a young girl of about 12 sitting with her parents in Debenhams, having a drink about the time we sat down for one. (Boots are quite noisey.) Had dinner in Carluccio's in St. Martin's, just off Oxford Street. Coincidently Jazz FM had a gig there the whole time we ate, so free live entertainment thrown in. My boots, or rather the heels, were on show the whole time we sat. They must have been noticed by the staff, and many eaters around us. When we left, we stood outside watching the last of the Jazz show. I went back to the car to get a warmer top, and changed into (the more disposable) Priceless boots that cost me

I'm waiting for M+S to release >> these << into their stores, so went to Brookfield Retail Park this afternoon while returning from a trip elsewhere. While there, we visited a number of shops to browse, with me looking at shoes, and trying to locate the 'missing' M+S jean..... In one of the shops, I spotted a fairly large shoulder bag, that would take everything her good self would normally carry, plus some heels (or flats) for me. [My thinking at the time was that I could change into/out of heels whenever I wanted to, with 'spares' taken out with me, but carried by herself.] I pointed out the bag, itself not unattractive. I mentioned the purpose (carrying high heels) and the response went something like; "I get why you would want the bag, but you'll look waaaay too girly holding that!" I pointed out the error regarding ownership. I was told a bag of similar dimensions was already owned, and we moved on. The 'funny' thing, it seemed to me, was the lack of surprise I might carry such a bag? The other 'funny' thing, was the lack of out-of-hand refusal for me to carry it while we would be out. I've obviously overstated my interest in all things femme. Though equally obviously, not stretched the realisation of how far I'm expected to go with it ..... Funny day ..... :roll: .....

Looking to visit Lakeside this Sunday, 30th August. I'll be in long blue jeans, a green 'technical' short-sleeve casual top, and 4" Harley boots. I'll be there with herself, a blonde wearing flat shoes. I've no idea what the good woman will be wearing, and frankly, neither does she! (:roll:) I'll be there from about 1pm until 5pm. .....
