  1. The Stella McCartney Winter 2009 (Shoe) Collection. >> here << For those interested. The black pumps don't seem to be working very well? ....
  2. I'm getting the hang of this. FINALLY, cracked one tonight. Nearly forgot again, but managed not to. With something like 3 minutes to go, I placed my maximum bid, and watched the timer count down. I left it late to start bidding, so the competition didn't have time to talk themselves into a higher final bid. I expected some sort of 'sniper' action, and I got it, from a 3rd bidder. The 'sniper' jumped in something like 20 seconds before the auction closed. I still won the goods I was after. It's always some consolation if the shoes or boots don't fit, that they didn't cost much. ....
  3. Ah, yes. Certainly is a 'collection'. Has all the symptoms of someone with more of something, than they could possibly use.  Lots of nice shoes in there. Hopefully they're getting some use?
  4. Once again, a fairly uneventful trip.... Except for the security bloke at Zara, the shop opposite John Lewis. [There are 2 or 3 of these stores in close proximity.] I've mentioned before, these fellas (seemingly always black, a race not so keen on any form of sexual ambiguity) always notice my heels. Be it Primark, or Zara, they are seldom discreet in their observation. Tonight the fella raised the bar a LOT higher. I'd walked in and around. As usual there was nothing for me, (why do I still bother), disappointed I walked toward the entrance/exit. Security person started to look at the bottom of my trousers, while I was about 15/20 feet away. There was no subtlety at all, a plain, obvious glare downward as I walked forward. Only a couple of feet from him, did he then look up at me, looking at him. I continued to stare back, right up until I practically fell out of the store. I've seldom experienced such rudeness. Over at Debenhams, the place was rocking. As full as I've ever seen it, the place was waaaay busier than it usually is at 8pm-9pm. The sale seems to be working! Tried to do a short video in the shoe section, but my old and battered phone got the better of me. I did manage >> a picture << though. May not show it very well, but the section was buzzing. Not surprising given it's party season and the shoes there were for the most part, 20% off. ...
  5. Looks like I may be going to Debenhams Oxford Street tonight. [Open until 10pm.] I've no reason to go, but I'm having my arm pushed up my back by my walking partner who wants an evening out. While I don't expect to spend any money, she knows I can be persuaded because it's an excuse to wear heels. Last time I was at Debenhams late, I practically had the store to myself. Well, womens shoe sections anyway. ...
  6. Watched the BBC2 Wednesday 18th Nov 2009 edition of "It takes 2", the midweek review/promotion show that supports the main "Strictly Come Dancing" weekend programme. It's hosted by Claudia Winkleman, twice married daughter of Eve Pollard, and self-confessed high heel fetishist. Easy on the eye, and seldom seen out of VERY high heels in front of the cameras. Watch her yourself >> here << on the BBC iPlayer, [not office safe] and only for the next 7 days. The stills are taken from about 13 minutes in. Still.1 Still.2 Still.3 Anyone any idea what shoe/boots she's wearing? I've seen her wearing studded Louboutins, might these also be Loubie's too? P.S. Some heavily edited YouTube footage. >> << ....
  7. I suppose many of us have 'email friends'.... I've one at a suppliers. She's 25, something of a livewire, but a nice girl in every sense of the word. Apparently, I'm on her shortlist (of 2) customers she might ring for a chat when perhaps she's supposed to be working. I doubt we'll ever meet, though we've swapped photo's. There's no romance, nor any prospect of it. She's well luuved up with hubby, and I've got a son her age. :cool: She's usually not very girlie. Country girl, likes walking her dog. Wears trainers ALL the time. She mentioned last week a 'do' she's going to, and I jokingly asked if she was going in high heels. The last thing I was expecting, was the answer "Yes, if I can get some without spending much money. I'll only be wearing them once." Obviously, knows me well enough to tease me. :roll: I sent some links;
  8. The second paragraph (above) should have read .... Conclusion to the story ..... Rang HoF Westfield yesterday morning. Found out the only person who could authorise the late return, is the Store Manager. Long (sob) story short, got agreement to exchange shoes for vouchers! Well done HoF. Got down there at 8.40pm having been held up looking after someone with a 2.30pm hospital appointment, that wasn't able to leave until 6.45pm  So, I'm expected. Assistant on the (girls) shoe counter finds my name written on some notes, and from that knows what is going on. Trouble is, while she knows what is going on, she doesn't actually know how to do it. She calls the Floor Manager. He comes over, knows how to do it, but doesn't have the swipe card for the till with the correct authorisation level. He then calls another girl across. Now there's three of them working on giving me HoF vouchers in exchange for 2 pairs of girls shoes, Size 8. It's close to the 'pantomime' season, so maybe I shouldn't be surprised. I've said it many times, but few stores take men wearing heels in their stride, as well as HoF. No blushes anywhere, including from me, although I did feel like I was practically performing for an audience. With only minutes left of opening hours, I stayed for a brief walk-around the shoe section. That would be the girls shoe section BTW. There's one of the House of Fraser "Extravaganza's" end of next week, with discounts in all departments. Don't know if the shoe concessions will be included, but I have
  9. Rang HoF tonight. Although I'm only 3 and 2 days late (respectively) to qualify for the voucher exchange scheme, the lady said company policy says I'm stuck with the goods I don't want. I intend having a heavy duty conversation with someone tomorrow. Since the Dune shoes are under-size (7's not the claimed  I'm wondering if I can get a full refund based on the 'fit for purpose' legislation? At this time I'm frustrated, annoyed, and enthusiastic to get the better of this situation. .....
  10. What an evening ...... Spent longer than I should getting ready*, but arrived at Staples Corner around 7.55pm. Wearing Harleys, but with stillies in car ~ just in case. Found cinema. Parked up outside, thinking I would buy tickets before popping down the road for some food. While parked, 10-15 minutes I might add, we waited for a 'not-busy' moment by the front door. It never came. Small (male) groups were continually milling around the front door, with one or two youths usually sitting on a shelf that was part of the foyer funiture. Worse, during the whole time we waited, we didn't see a single person we could say had English as their first language. Those we suspected might be English speaking, wore hoodies, baseball caps, or both, and often baggy trousers hung at crotch level. [You getting this?] Mrs Freddy didn't even want to get out of the car, much less walk into the place..... We chose to visit another town .... so off up the M1. 25 minutes later we arrived at cinema No2. Not only wasn't there a receptionist selling tickets any longer, [at 8.44pm] the 2012 programme had concluded for the evening. We gave in, and went to a restaurant 50 yards away. We were customers 6 and 7. Menu was that useless (to me), we shared 3 starters. Even the waiter suggested we'd made a good choice. Home for 10:40pm. * While making up my mind which trousers/jeans to wear, what belt to hold them up ..... I discovered two pairs of shoes I thought I had returned to House of Fraser, weeks ago. [url=http://www.dune.co.uk/catalogue/style.asp?y=A09LLE10LBC502H&pc=10&sar=&sat=&f=1]One pair
  11. Missed Brent Cross ..... [My lack of time keeping, takes some believing.] Currently looking to go soon, with >> these << on, but Mrs Freddy ain't so keen..... Maybe another day then. ....
  12. Unsurprisingly, I had thought to do something along this line myself. It would never make me rich, but I'd sure get a lot of pleasure buying/selling goods I enjoyed being around. I'd quite like to move to the US and ship shoes/boots around the world. My reason for moving there, is the range of styles and prices seems enormous. Maybe Hong Kong/China might be the same? Many people turn a hobby into a business. Selling womens shoes/boots would be a perfect job for me.  ...
  13. 'Lakeside' is a >> large shopping mall << and is one of the biggest in the South of England. It's a very busy place, even on the quiet days. People travel for some distance to enjoy so many shops under one roof. Unfortunately, it's sited in Essex. A county known for its blonde haired women, and their legendary lack of interlectual prowess. (aka bimbo's.) I'm inclined to think I had contact with one recently ..... ....
  14. Slightly off thread ... but ..... it is to do with Internet selling..... ;-) I often click on the advertising links around the forum. Sure doing that helps pay the rent, and sometimes they're pertinent to my shopping needs..... What I don't understand, is why Leatherworks continues to pay Google to advertise their web site that is "off-line for maintenance"? ...
  15. This is not going well. "Billy no-mates" (that would be me) can't find someone to go to see the filum with tonight. I obviously need to find some younger people to spend my time with. My social circle is "Geriatrics 'R' Us". Sadly, not as much of a joke as I would like.... ;-) P.S. Looks like we are going Sunday. Brent Cross (probably) followed by food at Chiquito's Staples Corner, then on to the Kinema opposite. ....
  16. Trailer for >> The Road << Not 'my cup of tea' I'm afraid. I've never found long storylines with women and children under threat as being attractive viewing. >> 2010 << on the other hand, is visually stimulating, despite being apocalyptic. And I intend going to see this film wearing heels, this coming Friday. ...
  17. "That bloke" would be an improvement over what I'm expecting .... ;-) I know the shape of the toe draws attention (for some reason) but they're just not 'girlie' looking shoes.
  18. If you look at 'rear view' piccies, you'll see the heel cover is actually missing. There's an ever so small lip but it doesn't stop your foot leaving the rear of the shoe. In fact the 'toe' piccy shoes the gap at the back of the shoe, and that little lip is clearly visible right above the size sticker. They also look to have an ankle strap, but it isn't. Sure there's something that goes around the ankle, but it's decoration. The strap is waaay too loose to fasten tightly around an ankle, even a mans. Sadly I didn't make time to take a photo with my foot in them to demonstrate this, (they're actually sitting on soft furnishings anyway), but the only thing that holds them on a foot is the tightness of the material around middle of the shoe. Just like a mule? ....
  19. Both styles returned. But took some piccies before they went back to the shop. Style 1 side. Style 1 front. Style 2 side. Style 2 front. ....
  20. Some better quality photo's. Pic 1. Pic 2. One of the things that interests me about these boots that sets them apart from similar styles, is that once the zip is done up, and the buckles fastened, there's no quick way to get them off. ;-) Most others have a zipper on the inside of the ankle for quick escapes, but not these. .....
  21. Now 350 members. Sadly, 342 still not posting ..... ;-)
  22. If I were to list the situations I would have preferred to have avoided while wearing heels, they would be so few, they could be counted on one hand. I'd had a few 'walk-bys' where generally speaking women have noticed my heels, and taken a downward glance just before we pass. [i always look back at them after they look down, to see if there's a reaction.] Had a couple of men spot my heels as I stood close by as they sat, with me having put my footwear almost in their line-of-sight. Had a good number of door men/women spot them too. Doormen at Primark in Oxford Street always notice, doormen at Zara in Oxford Street too. The first time I wore heels in public was possibly the most notable. A security lady at the O2 centre who noticed them while I queued next to her, looked and smiled. I wasn't phased or irritated by any of these. The first 'incident' that irritated me, was while I ate at a restaurant off Upper Street in London. As I sat eating, 3 rather unattractive people on an adjacent table noticed >> my footwear <<. Some whispering and nudging ensued, followed by some glaring from me. ;-) The second was more weird-ish. While out at Lakeside, (I've just remembered) two black women walked past me, with one being not-at-all-discreet at looking at >> my footwear <<. When they were a few paces further along, one of them giggled loudly. I was still looking back, but they weren't. I don't know if it was >> my footwear << or not. The third incident was in House of Fraser, Lakeside. When walking around the Karen Millen concession. One of the two girls on a break from the Clarins counter noticed my boots, nudged her friend and started giggling. Her friend was un-impressed and they both moved off. I was surprised anyone paid any attention to >> my Harleys <<. As these are so passable, and easy/quick to remove, I tend to wear these often. This weekend was the most unusual, and had the potential to upset me the most. At Lakeside again, and this time in Marks and Spencer. I was again searching the store looking for the illusive straight leg stretch jean by them, I'd been trying to find for a couple of months. I needed the loo, and while Mrs Freddy tried on some winter hats, I visited the toilet. As I walked to entry/exit door, I passed a large boned 20 year old sitting on the base of a fashion stand, maybe waiting for his escort who was probably in the loos somewhere. I was a little wary walking past someone with their eye-level so close to >> my footwear << but I was less comfortable making any sort of detour. [i am an adult after all. ] Toilets and heels are a little scary to me. My heels make noise, and there is seldom anything in the 'little room' to dampen the sound of them. I'm always happy to leave..... When I did leave, big-bone-guy was standing with his girlfriend, looking past me - I thought. I was tempted to look behind me to see what they might be looking at, or who they might be waiting for, but I noticed the girl looking at my boots. ;-) He didn't, but she did. Suddenly she started to giggle, and turned away to talk to big-bone-guy. It took me a minute to put together what was actually happening, and I maybe lost the opportunity to confront her - IF - I was going to. I started to look for Mrs Freddy, and passed the rude couple a number of times. I probably spent more time staring at them, than they had at me, and I made it obvious. I took some consolation in big-bone-guy's girl being very short, but had hips that belonged on someone at least a foot taller. Her general dress sense was poor, her baggy top and flat shoes emphasizing her shortness. Maybe that's why she found a man wearing cowboy boots so funny. ;-) In the great scheme of things, I should expect more of this. Jeez, I'm surprised I don't get people pointing at me, and maybe even throwing rotten vegetables in my direction! Not sure how to explain my feelings really. Mostly disappointed, mixed with some frustration. Disappointed because this couple were so ignorant. Ignorant ~ rude, and ignorant to anything outside of their (obviously) low level of experience. Frustrated because I was a little offended, and wanted to respond in kind. Hey-ho. No-one got hurt, and I managed to entertain an Essex girl for about 10 seconds. . ....
