  1. i have no forgotton treasures. there are a couple of pairs that i threw out and wish i hadn't - in particular a pair of brand new river island leather platform knee boots which i got off ebay for next to nothing. i've never seen that pair come up for sale again. :-( I like your 'treasure'. T Bar stiletto's seem to be quite rare these days. I was bidding for a pair of Office one's on ebay last week. went too high though. At a guess, i'd say yours are from Dorothy Perks?
  2. Nope. It was a TV series called The Street. There are no decent clips available. I found this crummy soundtracked compilation vid:- A few frames at 2.26 show a tiny part of the tyre-inflating scene.
  3. Anyone watching this. Fairly terrible show but a nice selection of stiletto heels being frequently worn by the female contestants + Karen Brady. A good number of close-up's on the shoes during this weeks 'furniture assembly' task. :-)
  4. meh. wasn't much of a drama really. Anna Friel is a bit of a babe though. I prefered the drama where she played a prostitute & had to pump up a deflated tyre while wearing 6 inch heels (can't find a decent quality clip on you tube).
  5. Clip available here:- http://skyarts.sky.com/playhouse-presents/pavement-psychologist-video looks good. i can get Sky Arts (don't know about Sky Arts HD though)
  6. So is this heelmeet definitely happening (Thursday 9th May)? If so, what are the meeting-up arrangements? It's still going to be at Westfield Shopping Centre right?
  7. Friday 10th is no good for me unfortunately. Thursday 9th would be possible though.
  8. eergh... really unpleasant looking if you ask me. transparent shoes & bare feet so you can see every bunion & literally watch the sweat puddles forming. no thank you m'am.
  9. Here's a pic that caught my attention in today's paper --- the North Korean woman's army on patrol! I guess they've run out of standard army issue bug-stomper boots. Now it looks like anything goes.
  10. My (far shorter) report on last Saturdays' outing: T'was a most enjoyable day out. Some great heel sightings, particularly that Amazonian knockout in the KG's strolling through the Bond Street area. Even the weather was on our side. Unfortunately, the boot buying season is pretty much over now so there was little of interest in the stores. I did a limited bit of trying on whenever I was lucky enough to discover something to my liking. Best find was a pair of Nine West ankle boots. Fitted pretty good & the style was spot on with my current taste. The asking price of £49 was reasonable but not a sum I can afford to stump up at the moment for *ahem* 'non-essentials'. If I should find myself back in London within the next week or two, I shall definitely be making a return visit (House-of-Fraser wasn't it?) to see if they've shaved any more off that price. At £30, I would be sold! Perhaps I should have negotiated with one of the attractive assistants. Those are some great candid camera shots. I didn't actually see the Zara-girl myself unfortunately. i'm loving her look though - I shall be setting up an e-bay auto search for those beauties. Freddy & his walking partner were great company as always & i'm looking forward to the promised mid-week meet up in a few weeks time (or as soon as the decent spring weather arrives).
  11. The Vorderman story is suspected to be a cover up - she's actually had a nose-job. Lets face it, no one is stupid enough to walk down stairs with hands in pockets - either wearing heels or not!.
  12. Yep, the tickets are selling fast for all shows despite there being 8 performances at MK alone. I personally feel that £35 is too expensive & I would be loathe to pay that much generally but since a great show is virtually guaranteed and there's the added attractions of- a) wearing absolutely anything you like without fear of censure, ridicule, etc enjoying the visual delights of your fellow theatre goers, many of whom will be scantily clad, stiletto wearing ladies! - it's a price worth paying The guaranteed(?) good weather won't make the slightest difference to what people wear. Most will go straight from car park to theatre anyway although a few will probably be glimpsed in bars & eateries in the vicinity prior to the show as hopefully we would be also! As things stand, my 'Harem' (ahem) is thinking about going again but the chance of them agreeing to doing so on the monday or thursday are slim.
  13. Setting aside all the Felis Catus discussion for a moment, cute & fluffy though they are: Rocky Horror Show comes to Milton Keynes theatre Mon 15th - Sat 20th July. Would any members on the site (male and female) have a genuine interest in attending a Rocky Horror heelmeet? Partners welcome although they would need to be open & accepting of the male heel wearing that will be going on (both on stage and off !!!). I'm not free for all the dates myself - I think only the Monday & Thursday are do-able. Anyway - let me know if you like the sound of it & maybe we can plan this in more detail.
  14. It was almost perfect. My Harem was mostly made up of 40/50-something women though who were dressed fairly modestly. Had they been 20-somethings in corsets & stockings, the (ahem) overall aesthetic would have been much improved.
  15. I'm already thinking of going again myself when it gets to MK. Maybe a group of us should do it as a Heel-meet & leave the wives/partners at home.
  16. My latest exploit: I attended a showing of the Rocky Horror Show (live musical) last night. I was wearing black jeans, black leather jacket, red shirt & 4" stiletto knee boots. I had the jeans down over the boots so they weren't on full show, but obviously, if you looked properly, you'd see the heels. Bizarrely, none of the 8 women who accompanied me to the show actually noticed the heels even though I was (definitely) standing 4" higher than usual, (probably) walking differently and (often) giving off that distinct "click-click" sound when walking on the hard surfaces inside the venue. It was a great night, made even better with the chance for street heeling. Loads of people at the show and at the pub before & after, none of who seemed to be the slightest bit interested in my choice of footware. As i've said on here & on HHP a number of times, the Rocky Horror Show provides the perfect opportunity for heel wearing.
  17. Barratts, Oxford Street a couple of years ago- I asked to try on a pair of womens size 8 black Kicker boots, reason being, I had looked for the exact same thing in the men's section with no luck. --- NB. these boots are totally flat soled! The female assistant (young, indian/asian looking) looked at me as if I had just escaped from a nuthouse and stood there in a confused daze as I tried them on. If I had tried on some stilettos she would have probably run off screaming!
  18. Betty 01, though TBH I don't particularly like any of them. There are some way better Pleasers available.
  19. I had a look around the Oxford Street dept. stores & the various high street branches last Wednesday with 3 other heelers. I was dissapointed & surprised by the poor selection in some of the shops (Next in particular). There were some very desirable items around elsewhere though. That said, had I not given up on buying kneeboots a while ago, there would have been a lot more of interest to me. I particularly liked these Dune shoeboots & would have bought them had I had
  20. I'm not sure you've got that quite right. The reason many of us H4M & HHP members (myself included) go for darkened-evening excursions in our heels is because it's the only time we can do it. Going street-heeling openly & in the daylight poses a variety of risks (some most likely imagined or exaggerated in our own heads, but many of them quite genuine). Few of us have ever 'raved' about those late night outings - quite the opposite - it really isn't what we actually want to be doing at all. What has been reported is the enjoyable experience of actually getting to wear our heels outdoors along with the exhilaration /relief /satisfaction or whatever of finally getting up the courage to do so. OK - we're miles away from your level of wearing, but this is one of the first steps for us to get to where you are. Another step could well be a move away from 'girlier' shoe styles towards more recognised male heels such as the cuban & the cowboy boot. Those "wanna-be" women you mention, presumably dress up completely as women - underwear, skirt, wig, make-up, etc. and go out in the daylight - shopping, to TV venues, to public libraries, etc. and are not particularly bothered in the slightest about being seen. There are plenty on HHP - though far less since the recent policy change - but I would expect few of them will be visiting this site.
  21. buenas noches, fellow heelers... Is anyone interested in a post-xmas get together during week of 28-12-09? i'm thinking that wednesday 30th would be the best day -28th & 29th = crazy with sales shoppers & xmas still not quite "over" (yes, 30th still crazy but hopefully a bit less so) - 31st = New Years eve so people probably have other things planned - 1st = New Years day (sleeping off the excesses of 31st?) Venue ---- somewhere in central london. maybe Oxford Street and/or a large shopping centre (but not Westfield, for reasons I shan't go into here). itinery ---- eating, drinking, sales shopping & more drinking. heel-wearing to be optional but heartily endorsed time & length of meet ---- to suit the attendees basically. BTW - i'm not "arranging" this meet, i'm just suggesting it. Post your thoughts & suggestions here, or PM me if you want to chew-the-fat in more detail.
  22. I tried these boots on in 'Dotty Perks' (Oxford St.) last night. http://www.dorothyperkins.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?beginIndex=20&viewAllFlag=false&catalogId=20552&storeId=12552&categoryId=178518&parent_category_rn=178501&productId=1390943&langId=-1 I really liked them but they were a bit too tight at size 8 - the largest they do & also a bit pricy at
  23. That isn't an 'active posters' figure, rather it's the 'active members' - basically it's the number of people who have been regularly logging on & visiting the HHP site. Unfortunately the term 'regular' is also relative since many of them haven't actually visited it this year! The figure for visitors during 2009 is roughly 800. In the case of our 34 "active members", 4 of them havent visited H4M this year yet (at least they haven't bothered to log-in when visiting)! Why someone would register on the site, make a handful of posts and then "disappear" is a mystery to me but there are presumably many people out there doing just that. Yes, this is a niche interest site, but since there are so few of them around (for our particular peccadillo), I would have expected people to gravitate to them like wasps towards a very jammy jam-jar. You are probably right in that many fellow heel-admiring/wearing males are still very much 'in the closet' and wary of leaving too many internet footprints (stiletto-heeled ones :-)).
  24. OK - thanks for the heads-up. The 'Active members' figure is obviously the most important one - it really doesn't matter how high the other figure gets - we could have 10,000+ passive/inactive/uninterested/non-visiting members yet the "liveliness" of the H4M forum wouldn't be improved. It's probably not worth monitoring that 'total members' figure at all, Freddy. BTW, the current "active members" figure at HHP is 1800. I guess we need to get a serious recruitment drive underway here somehow if we're to catch them up.
