  1. These were the boots I wore. They're from New Look.
  2. Does anyone ever wear heels to the cinema? In theory, it's a good place to wear them as the lighting is low, much of the venue is heavily carpeted & other cinema goers are focused on meeting friends, buying tickets/snacks, heading to their seats, etc. (and on the screen once the film starts) I'd always thought it would be a good place to wear them, if only to get used to the feel of wearing while in public, rather than actually doing much walking around in them. I put it to the test a few weeks ago. Went to see something with a friend (forget what) and wore ankle boots with 4" heels across the car park, into the venue, across the (huge) foyer into the designated screen & sat wearing them through the movie. A most enjoyable experience indeed. Following the movies end, we went to a quiet pub nearby for coffee. Me still wearing & enjoying the heels. As usual, my long jeans were mostly covering the heels although, to be honest, I wasn't feeling too bothered about being noticed really. The primary fear comes from being seen by someone who knows me. A late-ish mid-week movie showing meant that was highly unlikely. I enjoyed it so much in fact, I was back there again last night ---- we watched 'Riddick'. Good movie actually. Different heels this time although they were 4" stilettos again (recent eBay purchase) Am now waiting for something half-decent to come to the cinema so I can repeat the experience a third time!!!
  3. Nope, it' not the Queen one - that's 'We Will Rock You'. All Queen songs presumably. 'Rock of Ages' covers a whole set of AOR / soft rock / hair metal bands, including Bon Jovi, Foreigner, Toto, Boston, etc. Certainly not heavy metal although hopefully it'd be a powerful (i.e. Rocktastic!) show.
  4. Found it:- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2sn549TiBrw Apologies, it was a repeat from last year. Wow - Nice find on that Ukrainian pole dancer. Total hottie!
  5. And yummy, again! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2413031/Kelly-Brook-glamorous-best-shoulder-metallic-frock-attends-jewellery-shop-launch-party.html
  6. Yes, I know. It's a terrible show but... If you were watching today, you would have seen a gorgeous blonde trapeze artist doing her stuff in stiletto thigh boots. Very pleasing aestheticly! No sign of it on YouTube yet but it's sure to turn up in a day or two.
  7. Here are some photos of the boots I was wearing. Very comfortable, despite the height of the heels.
  8. Anyone seen Rock Of Ages? Now that the ginger tosser Justin Lee Collins has left the show, i wouldn't mind checking that one out. Would need to be a 'discount tickets' thing though. I'm not an american tourist!
  9. I tried to upload a pic but the site rejected it (too large). No way to reduce the file size on an iPad. (As far as I know!)
  10. Kelly "The Perfect Woman" Brook, as I like to think of her. ;-).
  11. Until a few days ago, I hadn't been planning to attend the Rocky Horror Show again this year. I knew it was showing this week in Oxford but I didn't know if I was free, didn't know if I really wanted to go again so soon (the 'Too much of a good thing' syndrome ) and i didn't want to spend another £30+ on the ticket plus bus, taxi, drinks, meal, programme, whatever. However!!! An 11th hour suggestion from a female friend had me impulse buying a pair of Circle tickets online & making plans to go to the final oxford show (saturday night). Fast forwarding to Saturday; I was obviously hoping to be able to wear heels but the thought of doing so in oxford city centre in broad daylight from time of arrival (6:00pm ish) to show time 2+ hours later put me in two minds. I also wasn't sure my friend was as open minded as she said she was "wear anything you want, I won't mind at all". After a nervy morning trying different heel & trouser combinations to ensure thorough heel coverage, I decided on some 4.5" stiletto ankle boots. The boots are cheapish, non leather, non branded but are surprisingly comfy & well made. I've worn them with ease at a gig previously so that took some of the wearability questions away. So, off we went and I can report that a superb evening was had. The show was absolutely great as usual ----- i cannot recommend it highly enough for a fun evening at the theatre. Walking around in Oxford before & after was icing on the cake. We stopped for a pre-show drink at Chequers (the pub) and sat in their courtyard, heels on show. Tricky cobbled alley to negotiate to & from!!! Looked in at the Wheatsheaf pub beforehand (another cobbled alley) but didn't stay in there as far too noisy . After the show, we walked a large distance to the Weatherspoons. Sat drinking and admiring the many high-heeling young women while making no attempt to hide my own (sometimes higher) heels. I tell you guys, this heeling lark is so much easier when you have a woman accompanying you. In all, a great night & something to be repeated at the earliest opportunity.
  12. Yummy, I lurve these:- http://www.newlook.com/shop/shoe-gallery/view-all-shoes/kelly-brook-black-croc-buckle-platform-court-shoes-_290511601 Will have to set up an eBay alert in case any turn up on there.
  13. Alas, the bad reviews are all of the Apollo Victoria Theatre show. a typical one:- http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowUserReviews-g186338-d2181739-r145613378-Wicked_the_Musical-London_England.html#CHECK_RATES_CONT There are plenty of excellent/very good reviews, although i suspect that a great many of those are posted by people with vested interests (know what I mean!) . Anyway, it's a case of Caveat Emptor as usual i suppose.
  14. Wicked is coming to my hometown in 2014. That being the case, I checked it out to assess my likelihood of enjoying it. - it's supposed to be a good show & it's been running for ages after all. I was quite surprised therefore to discover a large number of extremely negetive reviews. Some have likened it to a poorly-rehearsed school musical!!! Suffice to say, it's put me off completely, even though the local ticket price will be in the £35 area. I will just have to wait til Rocky Horror comes calling again.
  15. High tech way of showing us what we already know. http://io9.com/cringe-inducing-3d-scan-of-a-womans-foot-bones-in-high-1197391129 Some interesting pro-heel & anti-heel comments on the article too (mostly anti-heel).
  16. Missed opportuniity? Definitely. I wouldn't have been free to participate today though, so no great loss to me. Sponsorship is presumably also needed & I wouldn't particularly like to tip off work colleagues, etc. about my forthcoming jaunt in the park in stilettos. The ribbing that would follow (even if they didn't actually attend to point & laugh) would continue many months past the actual event - yes, i have many purile & tedious colleagues - it's like being back at school sometimes. Hopefully though , this is the first of many Walk A Mile... events to be held in the UK. It's been a USA thing for quite a while but i'd never seen it happening here before.
  17. Not too bad. A bit thin on believability and no story or character depth whatsoever. Loads of action and CGI eye-candy if that's your thing.
  18. Brief outing last night: a cinema trip to see Elysium. Footwear= dorothy perkins black, 4" stiletto ankle boots. Worn under long jeans and no reactions noticed. An obvious (to me) click-click heel-wearing sound in the car park but no sound within the carpeted cinema interior. Went for a coffee afterwards, again with no one seeming to notice my (fairly well hidden) heels. Great result all round and something that I shall definitely do again.
  19. Freddie - you're right. I completely missed that it was YOUR number that you were suggesting I hand out. I'll keep you posted on all further sightings of "Asian heel bloke". On another topic, I was out with a new female friend last night and talking about how few people are unable to wear whatever they feel like wearing without society making their lives difficult (nb, we were in a rock pub and she had just pointed out a heavy metal geezer who was wearing a long black goth-style skirt. She said, apart from a few heads turning, society in general wouldn't really care and people should just go for it. I said, I'd like to wear heels openly and not feel self conscious . Her response was to say I should just go for it and wear heels the next time we go out. Obviously, I am now thinking hard about when next to see my new best friend!
  20. Giving my tel. number to a complete stranger who may turn out to be a local nutter? No thanks. And what "opportunity" are we talking about? I'm curious about his heel wearing, sure, but I don't want to take him home to meet my mother!
  21. Spotted him again today. 4:30pm, there he was queuing at the checkout in Morrisons. Same black/dark clothing as before. This time the heels were black suede platform boots. Slim heel & very high. I wouldn't mind a pair of those myself. :-D Heels openly on show to everyone and the bloke was clearly enjoying wearing them, strutting about, as he was on the hard flooring. I stood right next to him at the next checkout. Did I speak to him? Nope, this is my hometown & some decorum needed to be kept, which wouldn't have been easy were I to start discussing a mutual interest in heeling with a large Asian bloke in a supermarket in the middle of the afternoon. I need to encounter him in the pub to have any sort of conversation with him. I'm expecting him to become a frequent sight around town anyway.
  22. There could well be, judging by the number of them. the Care in the Community policy has a lot to answer for.
  23. Yes, definitely, if the situation was right. At the moment, despite my own interest in heel-wearing, I'm thinking the bloke is just another local eccentric, probably a few sandwiches short of a picnic.
  24. An unusual sighting in my hometown which I felt I had to report: 8:30pm thursday, dropping my kids home, I drove past an asian bloke (as in chinese/korean type asian). He was fairly burly, dressed in black t shirt and dark trousers. Definitely a geezer - the muscles & his exaggerated 'elvis' sideburns were a dead give away. The unusual part - he was wearing high heels!!! From the glimse I got, they looked like patterned/flowery, pastel-coloured open toed summer platforms, with 4"+ stiletto heels. The shoes were completely at odds with the rest of his attire and he didn't appear to be completely at ease walking in them but there he was, bold as brass, striding out in broad daylight down the side of a main road & heading (so I would guess) into the town centre. Where exactly he was heading (& where he came from) is a complete mystery. I shall be keeping a look out for him in the future though & will report any further sightings.
  25. Matalan heeled boots can be pretty good sometimes, they include the occasional genuine leather pair.
