  1. ALDO Chupka As they were £31.49 I ordered two pairs. [Cheap for ALDO shoes.] Sent from different locations, they both arrived on Saturday. First pair fitted okay, though lacing up was a bit of an exercise. Noticed the right boot had not been made well, as the stitching holding the tongue in place was missing. With such a long tongue, this is an important omission. Moved on to pair No.2 ..... Left heel had a fault with the heel covering. Most people could and would ignore it, but I won't/can't. Right boot fitted better than right foot on the first pair [so I'm thinking I could make one pair from two] until I found the heel tip in right hand boot looks to be twisted. Not sure if the tip just needs pulling out and inserting squarely or the insert in the heel isn't straight. Either way, removing the tip will destroy it. I might have spares somewhere .... Upshot is ..... of 4 shoes (boots) 3 have not been made very well at all. Not sure what to do at the moment. They have a 120mm [4 3/4"] heel, and tightly laced give masses of support to my ankle, so easy to wear despite their height and slim heel. I suspect I'll order another two pairs hoping I'll end up with one good one? ALDO Levere Given my disappointment with the other two pairs of boots, I wasn't expecting much from the package when I opened it up. My anticipated disappointment was realised when I saw the box the boots had been sent in. Jeez, had they been to a war zone? 'Wrecked' didn't come close, and part of a £45.49 purchase? Trying on the boots was a different story .... Also 120mm [4 3/4"] high, these were so loose around the ankles, they felt like slippers. The rounded toe provided much more room than the Chupka style. My only concern really, was they felt so loose, they feel more like wearing mules? My heel moves at least half inch off the shoe before the shoe starts to catch up. The strap around the ankle is just tight enough to stop my foot leaving the boot, but it's a close thing. They're a comfortable fit, but right now I'm not convinced they are keepers. I'll have some time tomorrow to walk around a bit more, but I can see them going back too. I'd just have no confidence wearing them, I'd be continually expecting them to fall off my feet. ....
  2. You must have a very flat tummy to wear those. I'll be travelling by car, possibly. Sunday is free parking which is useful, Mon-Sat free after 6.30pm. Rail travel would
  3. Tried the red courts on tonight for about 20 seconds. One or two minor scuffs on them, but they were 'returns' and they were half price. Good news is they fit better than both the black or the blue pairs. Still can't walk in them. Hopefully, pictures tomorrow.
  4. All three pairs [two styles] are here. Pictures and report tomorrow, if herself allows.
  5. "I have a dream ......" If ever there was something I wanted to see ..... [After a cure for cancer, and World peace.]
  6. Ahhhhh. My experience of visiting places in heels, is usually [but not always] accompanied with a woman. Often/usually my wife, sometimes with a walking companion who will trade their time with me, for a free escorted trip to some interesting shopping. I've walked in heels the length and breadth of Oxford Street in heels of various shapes and always with of 4 inch or slightly higher rise, but always disguised under jeans. Both in daylight, and as often at night. [Ditto MK, Reading, Cambridge, Brighton and others.] I'm not sure whether a group in heels would be discreet, or even if you chaps want to be discreet? Two things I can promise. 1. I'll be there either way. 2. My wife won't be. [she thinks we're all mad.] If I can bring someone else along I'll do that instead. But I'm up for an adverture, if there's one to be had. ....
  7. Of course. Welcome. And join in maybe?
  8. Pictures are easier to get at by clicking >> here << Nice boots.
  9. I've been to HoF in London Oxford Street, the stores in Milton Keynes, Lakeside, Bluewater, Westfield and Reading. Always had a good experience and yet to see an eyelid flutter when I've asked to try on a pair of shoes. Had a problem with some returns that went back a little late to Westfield. Spoke to a Manager there face to face over the womans shoes I'd bought for me, and getting them accepted back into stock. Not at all phased and happy to help me. They carry a good stock of mid-priced attractive styles. Can't praise them enough.
  10. Chaps ...... Every great journey, begins with one step forward ..... Having an 'excuse' to wear heels ain't a bad step, even if it's an excuse? Who knows, a heel day could turn into a heel week? ....
  11. These are areas I visit and therefore know. Cambridge 30 miles. [under an hour by car, 30 minutes train.] London 30 miles too. Brighton, about 100. [2 1/2 hours by car 1 1/2 hours by train.] When I was trying to impress, I once took the then girlfriend (now wife) to Brighton for Sunday brunch. Ahhhhh, such heady days .... As for travelling ..... I don't like flying one little bit. Used to work in the industry and know only too well how fragile aircraft are. While communting, I've had flights with the company that wouldn't have been allowed if they were commercial trips .... And one notable journey got the pilot a round of applause because the ride beat anything you could experience at a theme park and everyone was glad to get back on the ground. ....
  12. Where's the emoticon for 'guffaws of laughter'? You're on the money there. If it isn't a gripe, it must be a compliment. [it's why I don't get on with her mother .... Even on a sunny day, she'll have something to moan about. ] If it wasn't encouragement, it was certainly a challenge. And I must take her up on it. [Cluck cluck cluck.] .....
  13. Sounds positive. "I am angling for the stays bit to be honest." Cracked me up. The devil in me is wondering what your good lady would think to meeting a bunch of us wearing heels? Mine won't have anything to do with a meeting ... She thinks she's got enough to put up with already, without me getting "mob-handed". I mentioned before, a place I eat where there's a reasonable amount of high heeled foot traffic. Later gets better, though using BR may mean a reasonably early curfew - possibly? But the eatery is not far from the main stores in Oxford Street, so won't need a special trip either way. And if London's too far, MK is do-able too. ....
  14. And I like the sound of those shoes! The tale..... 25 years ago I worked at a large manufacturers on the nightshift. I worked in an office, where there was precious little heating. As I spent most of my night sitting, I got cold. I started wearing holdups to help keep me warm. Tights might have been more common [sports fishermen wear them] but I was there for 10 hours at a time so using the toilet was inevitable. Hence the holdups. One morning I had to leave work and pretty much go to a hospital appointment. I'd got a problem with the skin inside my hairline, and I was going to see a skin specialist. My clothes were tidy and clean, and but for 12 hours use at work, so was my head. Pitched up at the hospital, and in to see the Doc. He examined my head and was reasonably convinced he knew what the problem was. He wanted to see my legs too, so told me to undress and he's be back in a couple of minutes. There have been few times in my life when I've had to think on my feet, and the decision have some consequences.... That was one of them. As soon as my trousers were off, I'd have the hose on my legs exposed. If he or his help came in with my trousers on the floor and holdups on, what would happen next? Well, I've never moved so quickly, but move I did. Fortunately no tell-tale rings on my thighs either. [i'm one for getting into trouble for doing something, rather than getting into trouble for doing nothing.] Although there was nothing to see, the Doc decided I'd got what he thought I had, and off I went .... Pockets stuffed with holdups! Moral of the tale? Always expect, the unexpected. .....
  15. Got back from Lakeside/Bluewater around midnight. 10 hour shopping gig including an hour each way travelling. Two small breaks, so effectly 7 hours shopping. Enough for anyone. Freddy spent
  16. I think this is true, though I would place the starting figure at 10,000. Liked the Dorothy story. Those must have been some shoes! ...
  17. As I've mentioned before, I pretty much HAVE to wear girls jeans, and have done on and off for 30 years. The 'off' years were the uncomfortable ones. They were baggy and unflattering, mostly because they had to be a size too large. That said, I've spent most of today wearing what I think are Primarnie mens jeans .... Bit tight around the crown jewels, but I've spent very little time sitting .... M+S ladies straight jeans are a much better fit, and come with stretch. All for
  18. Where do I send my campaign contribution?
  19. Mrs Freddy feels the same..... Though something happened around mid year in 2010 ..... We were walking along Oxford Street towards a place we now frequent where I can watch tall slim women walk past in heels all evening. I made a remark while wearing my 'standard' heels, that I'd got a lot of nice heels [like >> these << ] at home that I don't wear. Her remark was; "Well why don't you then?" Not exactly encouraging, but certainly acceptance of me wearing something other than a block heel out, where we're not known. I don't know how serious she was or might be .... But I need to find out. ....
  20. I suppose London or Milton Keynes would be too far?
  21. The wedges look good! Thankfully a fit this time and at a very attractive price too. You would think with all this 'globalisation' going on, someone somewhere [Germans?] would produce a shoe sizing standard the rest of the world could conform to. Seems to me the biggest problem with ordering anything on-line, and especially from overseas, is sizing compatibility. [That's it. Soapbox moment for today over. ] ....
  22. The expected delivery did not arrive.... That means they'll probably try to deliver today, while I'm 50 miles away at Lakeside. So much for on-line tracking. ALDO are very good with their sizing. Plus vanity would make me very reluctant to own a size 9, when I'm convinced I'm an 8. More news tomorrow. ...
  23. Bad news I'm afraid .... Can't walk in them though. They are snug, definitely not strolling around the park shoes. As I've mentioned before, there's something about the shape of the rise (the curve) that makes them feel higher, and are certainly harder to walk in than just about every other pair of shoes I own. Will have to do the piccies tomorrow. Lakeside is calling. [Rather, the wife is getting impatient. ] ....
  24. Maybe I mix in the wrong circles. No-one I know here would dreeeeam of going to the Falklands for a holiday? Apart from anything else, it's a bleak island not unlike some of those off the coast of Scotland, which is a significantly prettier place to visit. And for me - much closer. You're obviously something of an adventurer! ....
