  1. I understand your frustration. The walkways of Downtown Dallas are the same way. So many seams, cracks, and gratings that you really have to watch where you're walking.
  2. Oh, no offense taken. "Texas Heels of Death" actually sounds like a low-budget movie title.
  3. Admittedly, as a Texan, I found this one alarming. Kinda hits close to home, so to speak. ;-)
  4. I think Victoria Beckham has spent her entire adult life walking tip-toe. A true high heel lifer.
  5. She DOES look rather trashy in this pic. Nothing classy about this look at all.
  6. Since I have a larger shoe size, I never had the option of going the retail route because the stores didn't carry heels in my size. All off my boots have been acquired through mail order. I guess it has made the first time more comfortable for me because of the "privacy" factor.
  7. Nice to see some true stilettos in that last Jonathan Ross pic. Not fond of the platform/heel combinations that seem to be popular these days.
  8. I have recently found myself gravitating toward boots with 4 inch heels, and surprisingly, don't have a problem with it. I have always seemed to prefer heels in the 5 to 5 3/4 range, and had no problem walking in them. But these days, the 4 inch heels are just more COMFORTABLE. Is this a sign of getting older? Yes indeed. No denial here.
  9. I probably SHOULD post a bit more, considering I started this thread in the first place.
  10. Just WALKING in heels is an exercise in concentration and balance. Can't imagine myself executing even basic dance moves in high heels.
  11. You were obviously not worried about stealth. Would hear you coming from miles away. ;-)
  12. Wasn't being a critic on my last post, FastFreddy. Just making an observation. Nothing personal.
  13. Hmmm. Am I detecting some ankle boot "bias" on this thread lately? ;-)
  14. The Lypsy boots are nice. IF you have a small foot size.
  15. The exact opposite here, FastFreddy. The past two years have meant two of the hottest, driest summers on record here in Texas. Even last winter was never really "cold". In the past few months we have finally started getting decent amounts of rain.
  16. I guess it's time for the hiatus to end. The unbearably hot weather seems to have ended. The old boots have become boring, though. Time to go shopping.
  17. Nice boots. Have you worn them since, or are they just for "costumes"?
  18. No problem. Nice to actually get a response. A tad quiet on these forums.
  19. High heeled boots got my attention at a VERY early age. It's a private thing, though.
  20. Sometimes, even covering heels up won't keep you from being noticed, especially if you're not a person of small stature. I'm just under 6 feet tall, with a stocky build, and prefer 5 inch heels. With the added height from the heels, and the noise from the heels themselves, it's hard not to notice a giant walking around in stiletto boots
