The YouTube video is missing, as are the photo's posted. No surprise really, we are talking 11 years ago (less one month).

I didn't know that.... The film looks good. If I wasn't such a skinflint ....

Disappointing to know I missed those. Though I might have been to one?

These things cost money. If sellers thought they might benefit from promoting their wares, an appearance might get some stock on show, and to try on. At best 30 people (who am I kidding, 10-15) might attend, which isn't enough potential for a seller. I had previously made tentative enquiries some years ago about getting some 'sale or return' stock sent, but all three of the vendors I had in mind back then, no longer trade. (Direct Chinese imports via Ebay put them all out of business.) A model who specialises in wearing high high heels, would cost circa £200 a visit, even if little more than expenses were paid. A venue would be needed. To have dedicated space, would need a flat payment or a guarantee of sales. ("You can have the back room to yourselves free, as long as we take over £150 in sales.") Or some private space for 3 hours, £100. In my mind, the very minimum budget would be £300, and even that figure might prove to be wildly optimistic. Shared amongst 10-15 people? Never going to happen. Even a secluded space, with heel owners bringing their own shoes to show and be tried (on carpet) might cost £10 per person, and that's without refreshments needed like teas/coffees/other. There's also that most men into wearing heels, don't actually want to socialise together. It's a fact. Look at the historic attempts over at HHp. We've had some 'meets' from here in the past, but there's never been more than 5 of us, if I remember correctly. There are of course 'fetish' meets/fairs (or used to be) in London once a month.... Not sure even they have survived.

The best high heel continuity fail I've ever spotted, was with the 1992 Batman Returns film with Michelle Pfeiffer appearing as catwoman. In long shots, or posing, she wore these: (actual boots) (From >> here << ) When fighting or performing cartwheels, she was seen to be wearing flat boots, which shouldn't surprise anyone, but ... In one scene she is seen wearing the heeled boots, and in the same scene is also shown wearing flats. The director should have made sure the scene was edited in such a way (or shot in such a way) this fail wasn't possible...

Great video, a la film trailer. Hard to fully comprehend how well he walks in the heels as the view point isn't fixed, but probably still walks in them better than I could. Given he's not a size UK8, and more likely a UK10/11 or even larger, they might well be a 6" heel. Hard to know without some reference point. As to the men/women and who walks better in heels, it's a useful point that girls get more practice and that might lead to be them being 'more expert' in a heel. I had in mind the hips joints in a women are potentially different (for baby carrying purposes) and for that reason, could rotate/swivel a little more effectively than men usually do. If there has been medical research that says this is not the case, I'd like to read it. I'm aware that for myself, height makes a difference, and my ability seems to drop off past a certain point. For example, I can walk in a 4" heel like I'm wearing flats. (I'm told from the back, that might not appear to be true as I rotate my backside like a girl does - a girl wearing heels.) Up to around 4.7 inches high, I walk like someone wearing a heel, but not so badly it looks like I can't walk in a heel. Above that, approaching 5 inches, my gait is affected. Now given that 30 years ago I had no problem walking in a 5½ inch heel like I was wearing a 4 inch heel today, it suggests something in me has changed. The obvious is I'm 30 years older, but this must mean there are changes in my bone/muscle/tendon combination that is restricting my ability. Not sex possibly that makes a difference, but some other aspect or aspects. Bottom line for me, I've always been able to walk comfortably in heels. It's a great feeling to be in them. I hope my weary body allows me to continue for some time yet. -
Selling Shoes And Boots
FastFreddy2 replied to FastFreddy2's topic in Heels for Men - High Heels for Sale
A funny thing happened .... With my new found free time, I went shopping with Mrs Freddy this afternoon. This is quite a long job and historically, I've covered some of time needed for that singular task by abdicating myself to trawling other shops - if they are open. My favourites, are charity shops, them being something akin to Aladdin's Caves. Arriving at the shops quite late, I was able to get into one charity shop before close-of-play. This particular shop has yielded 'goodies' on the shoe/boot front before, and it may be I have mentioned a pair of thigh boots bought from this shop that I sold on for good money, as they didn't fit me. Well, once again I had some luck today. A brand new pair of fetish/goth boots with 5"+ heels in a size UK6. Bought for the princely sum of £10. Yay!. I had Mrs Freddy try one shoe on and while she could stand in it, the boot was too narrow for her to walk in, which isn't that unusual for her foot shape. Not bought for her anyway, so will be going on Ebay in the next couple of weeks. Can't get over it .... Brand new/unworn. Shame I'll never (knowingly) meet the original owner. -
There were once again, some high heels to be seen on the 2018 series, but the director must have been told to avoid transmitting (where possible) anything that could be reproduced on sites like this. What used to be wide shots with zooming into the heel wearers, almost stopped altogether. More often than not, women in heels sat behind the man, even if this meant the celeb being hidden by a dancer. I pretty much decided early on, following the series wasn't going to be worthwhile. Zoe has also started to wear shoes with slightly lower heel. (She's not getting any younger.) That's not to say heels weren't evident, but trying to get screen shots would not have been as worthwhile as it once used to be.

men learn to walk in heels, in Austria

My first thought after watching the video was; what an odd thing to teach, and who (actually) would want to learn? Not as negative as it might sound .... For example, the hall or studio needs to be hired or paid for. The size of the "market", (potential market) quite small. How does the studio expect to earn money (pay for costs - much less get into profit) off the venture? People we know (men obviously) here, don't usually wear heels, certainly not high heels anyway, in public. Why would anyone pay to be taught to do something, they probably would never use? I am slightly bewildered. Yes they mention "gays", but that doesn't always (seldom) translates to wearing woman's attire. For my part and my limited experience of men (other men) wearing heels .... They either can, or they can't walk in them. I suppose training can increase ability, but how many women who wear heels are "trained"? Sure they have a more rolling hip than most men so have a head start so to speak, but I've never met a women who thought it necessary to have lessons in wearing a heel. -
There was a better night for me, at the Barbican. If you have read through the whole site, you might recall I wore some courts under jeans, at a piano recital. There was some (interesting) trauma, in that my car (and me) got locked in the car park, and all the walking around in cheap shoes (from SELECT) meant I got a blister that turned into a cut. I got spotted by many people during the performance interval, and took some pictures of me there in heels, that may or may not still be available on the thread. If you have missed the 'report', let me know and I will find it. (Or I may have included it below already...) Very long thread, with pictures >> here <<

That'll teach me .... Went into work today for a meeting, to be told I'm laid off. I'll have all the time I need (and probably all the energy I need too) to continue work again on Maison Freddy, as well as be able to pick up this years attempt at more "me" time. - Though not quite the way I expected it to happen .... Or .... I could brush up my CV and look for more work. That's part time work of course.

I will almost guarantee there will be none for you.

My 'resolution' for 2018 was a complete wipe out. Only days after I wrote up my intention, a new job took me away for more hours a week/month than either me or my employer could imagine. It's been financially rewarding, but probably cost me the best summer I will see this side of a mortuary. That meant no progress at all at Maison Freddy, and almost no recreational hours because from June/July I was working weekends + evenings too. Not only did I not do my 1 hour a day, but I did significantly less than I had done in 2017. In fact I've spent so little time in heels, the last couple of times I've been out in a high heel, I've experienced discomfort in my feet. Something I just haven't experienced for around 35 years. (And back then, only because I had to stand still in a pair of high heel courts for over 2 hours.) A 'resolution' for 2019 might be more 'me' time. More time in heels, obviously. More time riding my new bike. More time travelling. And get the central heating replaced in my building site of a home.

If you want to get his attention, PM him him directly. It's not a case of waking him/them up, they are busy elsewhere and as this threat clearly indicates, there's not much going on that draws attention. I have to say, your input is greatly appreciated, in trying to change that.

I'm not a fan of TV "reality show" participants (Abi Clarke shown here) who keep themselves in the public eye by revealing how much plastic surgery they've had .... But I liked these shoes. A proper high heel, and as I've been saying for years, I like the effect of clear uppers. (As close as we'll ever come to the 'glass slippers' Cinderella may have been associated with.) Pretty sure she's not demonstrating the heels, but it'll do for me.

I'd quite like to own some Louboutin boots, but the prices are outside of my 'sensible' price range. Most would say "when I win the lottery", but I don't do it ... No-one in my family is going to leave me any money either, so not going to get a gift of them that way. Bottom line is: I've already got too many styles like the Loubie courts that I can't wear out. I need a social life (or just a life ) before I could consider investing in a pair of Louboutins. Sadly.
-
It's a shame I never got to own a pair. The heel was a very good height, in that it didn't overly affect how I walked, but was attractively high. A stiletto heel isn't much good walking on the horrendous textures of what London government refers to as it's pavements. I was out the other evening walking along a bit of Oxford Street, and came as close as I ever have to taking a tumble because of some un-level pavement. Anyone following me, would have been impressed I went from nearly walking on (what surely would have become a broken) ankle, to recomposing myself on the following step and not falling over. A bit like walking along on a kerb, and suddenly losing a foot down onto the road. My foot was just twisted away from underneath me, and of course I stumbled. (Always embarrassing.) But I didn't go over. Must have gyro's for hips? Had I been wearing a stiletto heel, I'd have surely snapped it. Thankfully I was wearing the sturdier ALDO alternative, as seen in my avatar. Would still like to own a pair of Capestick though. Lovely fitting shoe as I recall.

Not necessarily, mutually exclusive. But you are right, I should have been more explicit, rather than lean on a hamburger outlet strap-line. Those boots are very attractive, and look very wearable. Everywhere.

My limited experience with Twitter has been very negative. On joining, (both times) I was bombarded with links to stuff/people I wasn't interested in, my phone being filled up with way too much stuff to even review in an effective way. Instagram (as I understand it) is telling your life story in pictures, as it happens. Great for celeb's building/keeping a career, but not something I could get involved with directly because I need to keep my heel wearing discreet. (As much as I see wearing heels every time I leave the house, as something desirable.) In terms of the administration, I'd be happy to help but as you and Puffer have already concluded, it should be under the auspices of the site owner.

I'm loving those. A lot!

Promoting the site? Zut alors! We're British, we don't do things like announce ourselves to the world! Actually, I doubt either of those two are used directly, given how little new traffic arrives here.

Genius!? If only I didn't have hot feet, even wearing something as thin as hose.
