"Last minute" meeting around the UK?
FastFreddy2 replied to FastFreddy2's topic in Heelbucks chit chat Cafe
Yes. I will not wear a lower heel, unless forced to wear mens shoes. US10/UK7½/EU41 'My going out' boots vary from 4 inches to almost 5inches. I've been out a couple of times in the higher ones, but there's no disguising the hip movement necessary to stride while wearing them. Yessssss, And is why Mrs Freddy doesn't mind me wearing them while we are out together. Makes the guffaw of laughter, even more inappropriate. But I make no mistake, both daughter and mother [they looked identical but for 25/30 year age difference] were staring at my feet, immediately before the cackle from the older woman. .... -

I agree. I reserve the right to be "miffed" about it though. In a weeks time, it'll be a distant, if not forgotten memory. I wasn't prepared for it, and maybe that is what could be upsetting me, being caught off-guard. I've eaten at that restaurant many times, and have always worn heels. I've [at least] twice eaten outside in the open air with folk (tourists and locals alike) walking past all evening, and not had a bad experience. While sitting outside early evening, either last summer or two summers ago, I took a second photo of a girl sitting slightly behind me who was looking at my heels. She's wearing sunglasses, but her head seems to be angled directly at my feet. I had taken the first photo of her walking past me because of her footwear. The second photograph was also of her shoes, but when looking at the photo in detail, I could see where she was looking more accurately. She obviously had an interest in shoes and heels.... Possibly why she noticed my heels. [same as in the link, if I remember.] Nobody seemed to be at all bothered, including the girl in the heels, nor the girl who joined her later. Which is usually the case. I might notice more folk staring for a second longer than they might otherwise, when I wear a thinner/higher heel. But overall, I don't get grief, and I can only remember one previous occasion where laughter followed my footwear being noticed. In that instance, the delay was so long it might well have been a coincidence anyway. Thanks for the kind remark about the boots. They are my regular, 'go everywhere' boot. .... -

>> These << and well hidden under long jeans. The pointed toe is always on show, but the heel seldom is. If I had been wearing 5" stiletto's and a skirt, I might expect people to stop and stare, but the old bird was just being mean. ..... -
"Last minute" meeting around the UK?

So travelled down to London, specifically the West End. I'd wanted to return some jeans to Marks and Spencer, and see if they had my size [larger than the size I bought] in the style I liked. Although the Oxford Street store is something of a flagship store, it didn't have the style I was looking for. Next to Zara opposite Debenhams. Then House of Fraser. Their Biba jeans weren't in the sale, and they didn't have my size either. Had a quick look around the lower ground floor, but they only had summer shoes/sandals. Then into Debenhams, same thing. Not a great time for finding boots.... Shops are closing, and it's time to eat. We go to a restaurant, one we've been to many times before. The place is super busy. For the first time, we eat downstairs. The place is heaving, even though it's after nine. We eat. Service is slow, but tables are getting empty. I'm sitting in a corner. My boots are on show. There's a group of three women about 10 ft away to one side. One of the girls is really pretty, in a 'magazine model' sense of pretty. [Good features, a little hard, maybe boyish even.] I think she's with her mother. Another hard looking woman. Terrible skin, obviously spent a lot of time in the Sun. She has classic lines, a bit germanic in look, and could easily pass for a man. The third is a coloured girl. Wearing high heels, and very girlie, unlike the other two. The older woman and black girl have their back to me. The pretty girl is practically facing me, but like the other two, fairly preoccupied with eating. (And drinking). I'm surprised she doesn't seem to spend any time looking at my footwear, or at least isn't interested. Looking back on the situation later, I recall at no time during the evening, did any of them laugh, or even smile. I do remember the black girl asking for something that wasn't on the menu (this is something often perceived to be a trait of media wannabe's). Her accent was English, but the pretty girl had an American accent. It's time to go. We get the bill, and I decide with a 45 minute journey home that starts with a 10 minute walk in the cold, I'd better use the loo before travelling. I leave the table, and go to the loo. When I walk back out of the corridor that leads to the loos, my escort is already standing by our table (been waiting for me), and I watch her walk toward me. I'm standing next to the stairs, ready to leave. I notice the pretty girl is now looking at my feet. I'm a bit surprised by this. you can't see my heels, and I've just walked one step into the dining area. After 3 seconds of looking, she turns to her mother (and girlfriend) and says something that I guess is about my footwear. This is confirmed, because the older lady, then looks too. Both stare, though neither has more than a second left before I turn to walk up the stairs. At this time, I'm slightly amused, that two of the three (at least) have broken their rather humourless conversation to make time to notice me and my footwear. A short lived pleasure, as the old bird suddenly cackles a short laugh, I suppose from a remark made by her daughter. At the top of the stairs, I'm confused, and pretty much ready to spit blood. I'm frustrated that I wouldn't return to give them 'a piece of my mind', and deflated these people have such poor life experiences, they would humour in someone's dress sense. Without doubt, other dandy's (Beau Brummel) would have suffered scorn in the same way. Thankfully, I'm old enough to have thick skin. I doubt I would have coped quite so well in my younger, more sensitive days ..... It took me some considerable time to calm down. I have a reasonable expectation of ignorance/rudeness from younger people (with less experience of the diversity the world has to offer), but was shocked that people embracing a cosmopolitan 'look', failed so miserably (literally) to live up to what I understand to be the cosmopolitan spirit. My only solace in this rather unfortunate episode is a quote from Oscar Wilde: "The only thing worse than being talked about, is not being talked about." If I'm special enough to catch the attention of two attractive girls and one dried up prune, then good for me. . .... -

Ooops. Debenhams have a sale starting tomorrow (whoopy-do ). Selfridges have a sale starting tomorrow. I'll be visiting London tomorrow night, rain, or not. I won't be buying, but I will be taking exercise in heels, looking around to see what's on offer. ..... -

It is. I'd go so far as to say it could be applied with heels, and without. Agreed too. Good taste in shoes, good taste in women. <insert "green-eyed" emoticon here> And you, thought we'd lost you! -

I seldom wear thin heels. They are more obvious, and more easily damaged walking in the street. The mall I was at, is getting on for 20 miles from where I live. I had (perhaps foolishly) thought I was far enough from home, to avoid anyone I was likely to know. If we hadn't have been sitting, I'm sure we would have been missed. While I am concerned about being 'busted', by people I know, I'm not overly cautious. It's part of what I am, and I'm too long-in-the-tooth to have sleepless nights worrying over my dress style. What does concern me, is my dress sense embarrassing my wife, or others that know me. While just about every girlfriend I've ever had knew/knows about my interest in wearing heels, not all of them signed up to be seen as a strong supporter. My mother thinks I should wear them all the time if it's what I want, but at 83, she's pretty much off with the fairies most days. I think that if you've been walking around in 4" heels, amongst people who see you regularly, they know. Your boots would be pretty convincing as regular cowboy boots, but that heel height would be pretty high for a man's boot. If no-one has made a comment, it suggests folk are not so bothered it's worth talking about it. In my little world, menfolk would have no hesitation in 'ribbing' me about it constantly. Your dress code seems to be quite discreet, so there's maybe no reason for anyone to get upset (or threatened). I hope you enjoy the situation as much as I would like to. -

Looks like I got away with it too, or at least the work colleague is being sympathetically discreet. The shoes were nice to look at, and felt quite pleasant to wear. I would not have them over the Schuh Lois I already have though, and certainly not at £70. I have a thing for a pair of metal heeled [or metal effect heels] that still hasn't been addressed. Silver/metal heeled boots were quite popular some 3 or 4 years ago. I should have been looking then. -

Well, I got the red card I was expecting, and some rather nasty comments I was not. I didn't know you could, but I've now made my feedback private, so it can't be read. She has told lies about me to Ebay, and now making stuff up on the feedback left. I am filing a deformation claim. It won't remove the negative feedback, but I'm hoping it will remove the lies she has told. If the comments stay, I may have a look at taking her to court over her defamatory remarks. If I'm told I have a good case, I will pursue it. [i have to provide evidence of innocence, which is harder than providing evidence of guilt.] I'm hoping the many many many messages from her, and my helpful responses will prove I was as obliging as I could be. I could always close the account, but that seems like a waste, although potentially cheaper than the court route. Live and learn eh? .... -
I understand that comment! You are doing very well though. Definitely getting the impression of them, and they look good with your jeans too. Perfect combination.
-
I think the second design is less likely to get unwanted attention if they were worn in the street, but look too high to walk far in? So maybe special occasion boots. [Restaurants, Cinema, where there wouldn't be much walking involved.] Lovely boots. Very attractive rise. .... ....

"Last minute" meeting around the UK?
FastFreddy2 replied to FastFreddy2's topic in Heelbucks chit chat Cafe
The visit to Brent Cross almost passed without hiccup. Wore my 4" heeled HD boots, as I was not going to feel comfortable in 4¾" heels during my first public outing for quite a while. I did take them with me, in case I went to Oxford Street, but we didn't get that far into the centre of London. As it turned out, wearing the HD boots was a blessing in disguise...... We must have spent something like 4 hours at the shopping centre. Did a lot of looking, and I (hopefully) got a few pictures of woman wearing their high shopping heels. It was a pleasant afternoon out, with me enjoying my heels. When we arrived, I had noticed the Lipsy shop there, had >> these << in black with gold shiny heels out on a display stand. Not only did they have them out, they had the largest size they sell - a UK7 - out on display too. The shop was busy, with a lot of children running around, so it wasn't appropriate to try the shoe then. I decided I would try later. Much later, a good 3 hours later, me and my escort tried to create an opportunity for me to try the shoes. This time, one of the assistants was adjusting the shoe stand when we arrived. Both a little weary, we left the shop and sat on a bench outside for a short while, to await easier access to the shoes. While we are both sitting on the bench outside the shop, my escorts work colleague walks up to us, with his wife, and his mother! As my feet are already tucked under the bench, she and I are hoping no-one has noticed my boots. The four of them get chatting, and I try to become invisible. No such luck. Her work colleague knows what I look like, and eventually the whole family looks over and says 'hello'. I stay seated, and shake hands while still connected to the bench. [something I would never normally do.] I chat with him, while the three girls had a natter. The subject of our conversation: motorbikes. Very apt, given I'm wearing Harley Davidson boots, though I'm keeping quiet about this at the moment. After 5 more minutes, the party breaks up, and we are left alone again. We pop into Lipsy and I try the shoe. A little too small for me, but at least I finally tried them on. After we leave the shop, we take a veeeeery slow walk to the car park, so not to bump into anyone there we know (again). By this time, it's almost 7pm and the centre is about to shut. We are not decided if we are going further into London (though it seems unlikely), but I elect to use the toilet before we leave. I mention how [un]amusing it might be if I clip-clop into the Mens Room, and my escorts work colleague is in there? We have taken some time to arrive at the toilets, so chances are very slim. I enter, and he's not there. I wash my hands, and leave the Mens Room. As I do so, I look right [toward the Ladies] and find myself waving to the Wife and Mother, we'd spoken to 15 minutes ago. They have to walk towards me to leave. I turn left a good ten paces in front of them, and effectively lead them out of the corridor. I'm hoping the length of my jeans hides my heels...... I'll know if they did, by about 10am Monday morning. We left quickly, trying to avoid a further meeting. Once in the car, we decide driving further into London would only provide us with a bigger choice of restaurants, and neither of us is particularly hungry. We arrive back at the home town, around 40 minutes later. Soooo glad I wasn't wearing my higher, thinner heeled boots. Reason for edit: Typo's. .... -
Yes, makes perfect sense now. The 5" boot aka 12.5cm boot, has a very good heel height to foot length ratio, giving a very pleasant angle to the heel rise. They have a similar [but not same] angle, as my 4" heels in size UK7½. [EU40½] The 13.5cm heel boots look even better, and with a steeper rise, suggest these are definitely not 'walking around in' boots. Lastly, the 14.2cm boots would appear to be "I'm not walking anywhere" footwear. They are very very very attractive. Thanks for taking the time and trouble to show me/us your boots. While I might struggle to justify the budget for these shoes, I can completely understand why anyone would. ....
-
I'm a bit confused, which shoes are 5" which shoes 5½" in height, and what a chamfered heel is [though I could guess, I might also guess wrong]. Got to get out, as I'm running late for my afternoon out in heels, and my escort doesn't like to be kept waiting. I'll try to add a simpler yes/no query later, so you can understand better, what I'm not getting? ....

"Last minute" meeting around the UK?

P.S. "Summer" lasted a week. We are currently experiencing heavy rain, unseasonably cool temperatures, and 40-50mph winds. Feels like October. It just keeps raining, and raining, and raining. Supposed to be some respite tomorrow, so I plan to venture out. I expect to be at Brent Cross tomorrow afternoon. It'll be busy, so I might tempt fate with some higher heels than usual. Probably not a smart move if I plan to visit Fenwicks shoe section. First thing I think the the girls look at, is your footwear. Might be they are keen to spot a sales opportunity, by sizing up your usual 'spend' budget. Or they might be like me .... Believe you can get an indicator of someones personality by their choice of shoe. If it stays warm and dry, I might be tempted to visit Oxford Street too. ........ -
I was so hoping that wasn't the case. It may not be very long, before I P.M. you for details of your manufacturer. Again, great boots!

Congratulations on all three events. I am sure you must be much happier now, than when you last visited. Just for clarity, can I just say that being a TV, doesn't in my eyes stop a man being - a man. However ..... This site IS primarily for - and about, men dressed as men, wearing heels. And while here have been some diversions in the past, it remains the general theme of this site. I would agree there are plenty of alternate Forums for men who like to dress in skirts...... The big handicap of this site, has been maintaining a momentum, that makes it attractive to men who wear heels. Not just to browse through, but to post/contribute on. There is without doubt, a small core of readers/contributors. Another 10 writers, or if those that came here browsing started to contribute, the social aspect of the site could only grow. As far as [heel] meetings go, it was my primary reason for joining. Sure I can type/contribute all day in the 'virtual world', but I actually live and explore, the real world. And as much as I can, I go there wearing heels. ....

I know from a thread by BobHH that a company called Karo do clear wedges, though his cork heels looked higher than the samples I've shown here. [His still looked comfy though.] Here are some styles from Beverly Heels, the company mentioned by Bob. Some stiletto's .... And pretty much the perfect 'Cinderella' shoe? I wouldn't buy without trying, and this particular style are pretty much made to order in the US. Hey-ho. .....

I really like both pairs. The first pair as you say, for wearing anywhere, the second pair for 'special' occasions. I'd greatly appreciate slightly more detailed side on pictures, without jeans covering them, if that would be possible? Are these both shoes you had made for you?
-
Ahhhh..... if only.
-
4-5 inch wedge heel would be realistic. I'd like a transparent slim heel, but I doubt plastic would be strong enough without a large metal pin? With a wedge, they'd be no need for the pin.

Selling Shoes And Boots

Got a tale of woe, that might keep you busy for a short while, so if you're in a rush, come back later. I haven't sold much that wasn't shoes, but I have sold one or two bits. One I advertised, got bid on before I concluded the description. In making sure I enjoyed free listings, several ads were placed with incomplete detailing. This is fine, as you can go back and complete the detail, even when the free listing period has passed. If you get a bid before you've edited/completed the listing, you can't then edit it. The listing is locked, though you can add detail on a new page if you choose. The bag I offered, is/was I believed, leather. Big brand name, looked like leather. Came from a high street store, so not a fake. I listed it as leather. I had decided to amend the listing to 'believed to be' leather, but VERY quickly after the listing was created, there was a bid made on it. Odd this, because at the time, there was no size mentioned - at all. The bidder, quite literally bid without knowing what they had actually bid on. Anyway, almost two weeks after getting the bag, the new owner decides they want to return it, "as it's obviously a plastic copy" [aka fake.] As I know it isn't a fake, but am not 100% sure it's leather, I say I want the maker to confirm either way before making a decision. I point out that if I have made a mistake, I'll apologise, and provide a full refund. During the 20 or so PM's between us, I pointed out that a return would have been a lot simpler if she had complained about it on receipt. I would have been happy to agree a return then without involving a third party. But returning so late meant, she would have had the use of the bag for two weeks [minimum] which included two weekends with one of them being a bank holiday weekend. At the time I felt like she had used the bag for a day out [wedding say] and just wanted her money back. As I've read some fairly hairy-horror stories about auction site scammers, I was reluctant to just say "okay dear, send it back". I was keen to see if the makers would confirm it being leather which would entitle me to refuse. Having spent some time over the bank holiday weekend searching for information on the bag [which I didn't find], I discovered a part of their range that included bags made of "leather look, eco-fabric"]. Practically put a full stop to any resistance I might be able to mount for a return. I told her to re-wrap the bag, as it looked like it was coming back. I sent her 2 links to the 'eco-fabric' bags and suggested I'd won her argument for her. Next day, I gave her an address to return the bag. Once the bag was in the post, she then raised a case against me with the listing site owners. Saying I was unresponsive to her messages, and she wasn't able to arrange a return. The case procedure insists I respond to her allegations, which I did. I told her these two remarks were lies. Not only had I responded promptly and courteously to all her many messages, but I'd agreed to a return that had already been posted at the time she raised the case? In her defence, [?] I have to say I believe she thought she had been sold a fake, [and subsequently treated me like I was trying to rip her off]. But at no time did she entertain the idea, that any other situation could be true? I said when I mentioned I would be contacting the makers [which I did], if the bag proved to be plastic [it might well be] I would apologise [i did]. Didn't make any difference.... That's one angry individual. I expect to get my first Red Card, early next week. .... -
I like both pairs too. Not usually keen on platforms, but that pair have a suitably [very] high heel, and I would think they are hard enough to walk in, even with a small platform? Pleasurably uncomfortable, as it were? The other pair, look very wearable. The money shot. P.S. That bike looks good too.
