  1. 4 of 9 pairs on offer, got bids. A respectable tally, if a little disappointing. None of the 3 high value items [£40 each] got offers, though two of them had watchers for the last 3 days or so. One pair in particular, had 117 views. As a general benchmark, I expect to see a bid if an item gets looked at, over 30 times. In fact the pair I'm thinking about, must of had over half those views, during today? Not sure what to make of it really? On the up side, I've had contact and a meet up already, from an ex-member on here. He had shown some interest in a pair, and wanted to try them on for size. We seem to have startlingly similar backgrounds, and possibly, similar tastes. I've asked him to re-join. [i suspect he hadn't logged in, or changed his email address.] Ether way, I think "he'll be back". One of the successful bidders, is 'mad' for heels. Not sure I'll get him on here, but it might happen. Early days yet, but I'm hoping for a meet with him via personal delivery of his purchase. .....
  2. Finally got out in heels, and visited Bicester. Two ticked boxes, from one visit. Don't know about the help from AA Route Planner. 60 miles there [as advised] route B. 80 miles [advised 60] route A. So 140 mile round trip. With 'road rage' form black Golf driver on way home, trying to force me off the road while on M25. Mrs Freddy a bit scared, unfortunately. Dialling 999 scared the loony driver off, but got no help from the police. [Either immediately or afterward.] Think I might be a little in shock, but not sure. (Feel angry that I didn't respond in kind, as foolish as that notion is. ) At Bicester, the heat meant few people were wearing heels. Three I saw had them on, and two of those were in wedges. Almost nothing to photograph in the shops, and embarrassment of me trying being a hurdle I didn't get past often. Details following tomorrow.
  3. Still can't see any new piccies though? P.S. Those boots are circa €200/UK£150 plus carriage.
  4. I doubt the stopping and chatting would happen over here, unless they were asking for money? These the sort of boots you have in mind?
  5. I can't see any new pictures? Am I looking in the wrong place? [Your gallery?]
  6. I would agree that they are a bit on the long side, but there will be practical reasons for that. [bit like the ones below I've added for reference.] Longer toe boxes offer more space for toes. And with this particular product, I'd be surprised if the plastic could be forced to have the same shape as leather - with the double curve necessary to cover toes? And may be why the Loubies don't have a transparent cover right at the front of their shoe? While looking for example piccies, I remembered RoSa shoes. A link to their interesting web site and some comments on "why" long pointed toe shoes >> here <<. While the long toe 'winkle picker' style may have left British mainstream designs, they are still popular in Italy, where I found some more examples. Like these: I would wholeheartedly agree, the longer pointed shoes are less attractive [and harder to walk in I imagine], but they so seem to have a long (sorry) pedigree.
  7. A couple of 'transparent shoe' pictures [transparent uppers for the technically correct], found recently. Plenty of 'full' toe cleavage there.
  8. I like Zara. Always has some interesting styles in both clothing and shoes. Equally been a bit frustrating for me. Seldom have larger sizes, and some styles, their 8 fits like a 7. While searching for something else, these two popped up. Both £60. Available on line in UK8, probably for about 2 weeks. Zara don't tend to have styles for long, so seldom [though not always] offer end of range discounts. The web site had other styles, but these stood out for me.
  9. Hit "paydirt" with the result of a search ........ >> Clicky << Too many styles to add individual pictures to the thread. One of my favourites though ..... Probably impossible to walk in. ....
  10. Not too loud? Mrs Freddy's remark (over my shoulder) "That's pretty." Likes the colours, but less so the style (I'm afraid.) I do black anywhere, and maybe red somewhere private.
  11. Had promised Mrs Freddy a trip out tonight. Today is expected to be the hottest day of the year at 30 to 31 degrees C .... (We are in a 3 day heatwave. ) It's already so hot I've cancelled the opportunity to visit a large mall at Milton Keynes. At 11am I am sat here in front of a fan that's trying to blow me over. (Maybe I should turn it down a tad? ) The idea was to visit London tonight, and sit by the river Thames eating. Sounds romantic eh? The thinking is the buildings there will keep the air warm long after the sun has set. With 8 hours of being cooked by the heat during the day, as we Brits don't usually find air-con away from shops, will either of us have the energy to leave the house later? With rain so heavy there was a danger of flooding 3 or 4 days ago, and now a mini heat wave, the weather here could never be described as predictable.... Plan, what plan? .....
  12. A fair question. So far [and this weeks initial bids look to be no different], two of every three pairs sold by me, go to men. Were I to sell these shoes in batches, I would reduce the potential range of buyers because most seem to be discreet buyers hiding their purchases from people, like their significant other. Not one buyer has complained I offer these shoes in such a way, that purchases can not be seen. Often [though not always] feedback isn't left, as this could also flag the purchase. As a buyer, I would bid on a bulk purchase if one or both these conditions existed: I liked every style in the batch [ii] I paid a proportionately lower price for a batch, than I would if I bought individually. Worse, if I didn't like one pair of the five pairs on offer, my bid would reflect the potential cost to me [£0] of putting the style I didn't like directly into the charity [thrift] store. In four years of buying, I think I've twice seen 'bulk' [5 pairs] offered. As an example of how many I've looked at over those years, two days ago I reviewed over 5000 listings in one sitting. Not that my time couldn't and shouldn't have been spent doing other things .... Also, bulk = volume. Over here we pay a premium to post anything over a kilogramme, as our national postal system is tilted toward letter post, rather than parcel delivery. In summary: Selling in bulk would probably mean me getting very little money on the sale, and the discounted carriage I would have to offer, would probably make the whole thing uneconomic. Add my time for shipping and the potential risk of an unsatisfied customer [5 times greater with 5 pairs, than with one pair] it would almost certainly mean my time would be better spent just dumping them at a charity store. I donate to charities regularly. I'm loathe to give away everything surplus in my life. Some of it was hard won, and has great value to me. And if truth be told, I enjoy the selling part too. While reading this comment didn't produce a loud 'belly-laugh', it is certainly the most amusing thing I've read for some time. A great report and it produces a wide grin every time I read it. (So far, about 5 times. ) Tops marks E.
  13. I had fully expected to add these pictures to the thread with the transparent toe-boxes, elsewhere, but they are just as appropriate here. From Zara, in Portugal. [This is an international clothes chain, but I don't know if they extend to the US.] Court with transparent edging on toe box. [Toe cleavage without the risk of losing the shoe?] I've mentioned before [maybe prematurely] block heels, and thicker heeled shoes are on their way in. I think we will be looking at every brand having at least one block heeled ankle boot as a 'staple' design of any range this Autumn/Winter. Not always a very high heeled boot, but certainly something that elevates while being discreet. I'm very happy about this.
  14. Good call with United Nude. One from their range I've liked for some time: Another from the same collection as the OP item. United Nude are very 'technical' and for me, attractive shoes, but there's a price to be paid for such innovation. I'll have to have a look around for something from another design house. That's going to be a tough one to respond to!
  15. Just spotted some boots on the Office web site. Very manly, (VERY manly) but a little rich for my tastes (£80) at the moment. Maybe in the January sales? Also seen there, basic leather court from Ted Baker. £100? I suppose Ted Baker is better known than say, ALDO......
  16. Kylie can dance in heels, but can anyone else? Slow start on this one, but two girls strutting their stuff. - 2 girl practice. [bit of a slow start.] Looks like a band get together at the same studio. - Korean girl group. There are many vid's of this girl group, if you have time to look at them. These vid's are a bit noisier, with the last one being VERY noisy. Hard-core dancers use a style called 'shuffling' normally done in trainers .... Not here. Lovablelily1 And proper workout. [20 second gap at the end though. Poor edit?] Lovablelily1 compilation. There were many other video's of girls shuffling in heels, but none anything like this girl. [Poor timing being the big issue.] She really is, quite impressive. ....
  17. Other than the high ratio of colour blindness in men which I din't know, I agree all you comments. If I'm reading this right, you are suggesting childhood bullying, creates an expectation we will be criticised for anything [unusual] we do? While I see how that conclusion could be reached, I have doubts it's pertinent here? I vaguely remember not always having the best of times when young, but I worry more about people laughing, than them being critical. That said, people staring can seem pretty rude. But other people being rude isn't my problem. While I get my feathers ruffled by it, I'm not losing any sleep over it either. Now, people finding amusement in my dress sense, [twice this year] does hurt. But again, I'll live through it.
  18. To work up an appetite? That would be great. Is there somewhere you know, we could go to for a walk?
  19. Thanks E. It's good to know the selections are appropriate.
  20. I've sent the 4 UK based members I know (and have met ), a link to the auction site. If you don't have a PM and live in the UK, maybe your profile/avatar doesn't reveal your location? I will send a link to any member who is interested anyway, but I'm not going to 'spam' the membership, so you'll need to ask if you are curious.
  21. Chewed some soft food on the right side of my mouth tonight, for the first time in 4 weeks. No pain. With a repaired mouth, I'm starting to feel like I need a visit out somewhere soon. Shops in London have returned to their pre-Olympic Games opening times, so no late nights yet. Been a while since I've been to Lakeside, but that's a bit of a childrens playground while the schools are closed for the summer break. Bicester Village Outlet Shopping is an outside venue, so needs a warm/dry day. We had planned an evening shopping in London tonight [Tuesday], but Mrs Freddy got talking to an old friend when she left work, and got home late. Tomorrow, [Plan B] torrential rain expected..... Plan C ???
  22. The intent of this thread, is to 'air' product video's from shoe retailers. The reason for this "professional only" approach, (rather than 'here is a shoe video') was to ensure a high standard of imagery and 'to the point' presentation, with little or no verbal interference. [aka rambling.] This video hasn't been done by a retailer or outlet, but by an end-user/customer. However, the video quality is good, as is the sound. The presentation isn't scripted, but I found it both interesting, and informative. I hope you enjoy it too. "Review and comparison between Christian Louboutin Pigalle, Bianca and Alti pumps, showing the details and modelling". >> <<
  23. 9 listings done. One or two more photo's to do, but the listings are complete for the most part. I will PM the UK members who post, and anyone else who PM's me for the auction site account name.
  24. You know, it could just be as easy as saying what you like? Or writing in a few words, about something you've seen that you particularly enjoyed seeing.
