  1. Enjoy it! It's no secret that heels are enticing, interesting, arousing, and just plain more fun than flats. That's why they command so much more attention. Just keep it decent but enjoy the experience! You will have to watch that you don't go too far -- and it is hard to tell where that fine line is. You are in better contact with your life than the rest of us so you are in a better position to tell where that line is for you. You might want to downplay the "turn-on" aspect if you discuss it with your wife, don't let her think that's why you are doing it. (And if that is why you are doing it, a whole new discussion ensues.) But if you have come to the conclusion that you enjoy wearing heels -- you are not alone!
  2. . . . and HHplace does cast a very long shadow. This site is trying to get a foothold in that shadow and it is a challenge. Further, those new posts beget continued discussion. I often find myself using an existing comment as a springboard to expand, add insight from my own experience or further discuss an issue. (As I have done here. . .) For this to work there must be existing content. Old posts are great for reference and reflection but the real content generation on a discussion board is driven by the new material.
  3. I wonder how many heels have been purchased, collected and thrown away because wives said "get them out of here!" As we all know, the desire doesn't go away. It can go into hiding for a while but it returns with a vengeance -- and a new collection of heels is purchased. Back to the original question: "Is this place dying?" I have opined earlier that it was just getting started, only the startup was going slowly. Basically, that's still the case -- it is difficult to get traction and build up momentum. HHplace casts such a huge shadow -- there is so much activity there that so many of us barely remember this site exists. Unfortunately I do not know how to change this situation.
  4. I also keep it pretty secret. More total strangers know than close family members -- it's a little easier because I don't have an immediate family. No wife / girlfriend / kids to worry about and I'm pretty sure cousins / sister / mother have no reason to suspect. Should I "kick the bucket", somebody's going to get a surprise going through all my stuff!
  5. I think that's the primary reason for the inactivity here -- HHplace is so big and casts such a huge shadow that this site kinda gets lost in the noise. But I believe our desire to wear heels will win out in the end -- heel-wearing seems to be part of human nature and as such it cannot be ignored. Therefore, this site is bound to pick up eventually.

    Hello

Welcome aboard, heels! -- to the *real* guys' forum!
  7. Welcome aboard! We'll get this place rev'd up eventually.
  8. Shyguy, that's a good idea -- use this site as a sort of online "support group" for we male heelers. Those of us old enough to remember a time before the Internet (seems like so long ago) will also remember thinking "we must just be weird or something". Now we can band together (at least online), swap stories and experiences and discover that there are far more of us than we ever imagined.
  9. Welcome to heels4men! The cuban heel on a boot looks a lot like a cowboy boot -- around here most people would think you are wearing a western style. It is the one form of heeled footwear that is well accepted on men -- at least in this area (U.S. Midwest).
  10. Can't dispute anything there. "Lurking" has its kicks, and I should know because I lurked at HHplace for three or four years before registering. But once you register you can join the discussion and that's far better. We don't discourage lurkers but we do encourage them to sign up, de-lurk and get in the game!
  11. If the shoe fits. . . rather appropriate for discussion on this forum! One of my favorites: "Be careful what you wish for. You just might get it."
  12. Welcome aboard, Jobi! Tell us about your heeling experience :-D
  13. I must admit I am having difficulty in coming up with ideas. My trouble is, HHMP covers the subject so thoroughly in "for the Guys" as well as elsewhere -- it is difficult to come up with material that does not overlap something that is already there.
  14. I think it takes a while to get a forum going because content is what draws members to a site and a forum starts out with essentially none. A message board type forum depends on its members to provide the content that attracts new members -- kind of a "catch-22" situation. Add that to the fact that there is so much activity on HHMP, this site gets a little lost in the noise. I don't think this site is dying. It's being born and it is going to take a while.
  15. Maybe this is a goofy idea but I will put it up here anyway. . . I am certain we have all been looking around on shoe-shop websites (or maybe in real stores) and have seen something we liked, only to find the available sizes ended some number of sizes smaller than our feet. It happens to me a lot and at USW12 / USM10, my feet are not as big as some guys. Several times I have bought footwear in a smaller size just because I liked it. I had hopes I could stretch it amd make it comfortable -- with mixed results. Now, thank goodness, larger sizes are becoming more plentiful and after experiencing the feel of heels that really fit I am a lot more particular about getting the right size. So I believe that gut-wrenching "I - would - really - love - a - pair - of - those - but - I - will - never - get - into - them - because - they - don't - make - them - big - enough" scenario is all too familiar to heel-men. I am wondering if we want a thread dedicated to this issue. Members could post pictures of or links to footwear styles they like but cannot get in their size. The source of the footwear and preferably the manufacturer would be listed, as well as the largest available size and the desired size. We would eventually make this thread available to the manufacturers as a wake-up call -- (Guys, you could sell more shoes if you made 'em bigger and here's some proof).
