  1. Her day job may be ‘runway beacon’, It is still, I think, a fun look for the right occasion. But then I have never been afraid of colour
  2. Indeed, where I grew up was famous for its striking autumn colours and the season has always had, for me, a rich association with falling leaves of crimson, scarlet and gold
  3. That is quite striking. Not exactly blend into the crowd wear, but the look certainly creates a fun vibe for the right casino.
  4. My otk boots are flats so not much worry - I do autumn, not fall
  5. I like the chilly autumn days - nice weather for bringing out boots
  6. It is definitely the case. He was wearing heels during the training scenes as well. Cuban heels 2-2.5 inches high.
  7. Don’t know who he is, some comedian, I think, his name’s Brian, but one of the male contestants tonight is definitely wearing heels.
  8. Yes, her heels used to be verging on the ridiculous. Some of the contestants, and Darcy also seemed to be in competition with her over who could wear the most absurdly high stilettos
  9. Nope. Way too high for me. Chap boots are not my thing at all. Knee boots or slightly over the knee, no more than that.
  10. He’s certainly very forthright. No piddling around there. Good on him.
  11. I thought the CNN story was rather interesting. I was surprised to come across it. My first chance to contribute meaningfully to the thread!
  12. On a subject more germane to this thread, here’s this from the CNN website: http://edition.cnn.com/style/article/the-adorned-nange-magro/index.html
  13. A couple of things - one, she is a celebrity and will be, to some extent, dressing for the cameras and with an eye to her appearance in various glossy mags, websites etc. The need to be provocative and talked about. At that, she looked far less of a tart than many of the others whose pictures have appeared in this thread (assuming we are talking about the same woman, and I think we are) Provocative, yes, but with reserve. I really didn’t see anything overtly tarty there, let alone slutty. Lots of black leather but she didn’t look to me like she was to be had for the asking. While I dislike intensely a lot of the bright young celebrity singers and their tart wear, manly for their lack of any obvious talent, I am not at all judgemental as to people’s clothes or weight. Sure, a lot of people have bad diets and exercise too little and become fat. What of it? People can lead incredibly unhealthy lifestyles and remain stick thin - one needs only look at members of The Rolling Stones. As a journalist, I am always aware that there is always a back story. People are interesting. I like watching and observing and looking for those stories. I don’t see anything untoward about the lady with her black leather outfit.
  14. Provocative and fetish are two very different things.
  15. This thread does wander to and fro. I guess a thread n edgy fashion, as opposed to vintage fashion, could be interesting.
  16. Indeed - just as you say, sexy and smart and not overly provocative. A very nice look.
  17. Once again the bare midriff. Nobody - or very few - seem to grasp ideas of counterpoint, good taste, less-is-more etc.
  18. Now that is very nice! Well paired with the top and looking stylish.
  19. No, not terribly discrete. And having gone for wild splashy colour on the boots, the sensible thing would have been something neutral and solid on top.
  20. Very nice except for the bikini top. With PVSs and shiny leggings, less is more should be the rule. Accent and counterpoint, a hint of naughty leavened by a good dose of nice.
  21. That really works well with the jumper. A nice counterpoint.
