  1. I agree that walking out of toe cleavage could happen, but I have never experienced it whether I wore the pair or only one. But when I wear one I feel like I'm pushing the envelope of security, and daring. E
  2. I am beginning to notice some toe cleavage lately in platforms and peep-toes. Personally, I have always loved it and havve a couple of sling-back stiletto pumps with ample toe cleavage and pointed toes. May I interject a woman's point of view, although I know that I do not speak for all women....... According to my mom, toe-cleavage was papular in the late 50's, and some shoes displayed about one-half of the wearer's toes. She also recalled the manufacturer's slogan that they showed the "pretty part of a woman's toes." Frankly, I never considered a woman's toes to not be pretty. For me, the only drawback is that toe cleavage pumps do not dangle as well as a pump with the usual vamp that covers all of the toes. E
  3. I have to agree with Love 4 Heels. I drive in a 4" stiletto on a left-foot accelerator with no problems. My car has an automatic transmisssion which allows me to drive with one foot. E
  4. My taste in closed heels is a pointed toe pump. But - to me there is something appealing about this pump and I just might find myself being guided to Payless to try one on, and if so, I will relate the experience. E
  5. My curiosity is winning out over practicality. I would wear the boot on business up north in the cold of winter, but carry a pump or even a sandal in my bag for wear while indoors. I did not see anything as to the height of the heel or thickness of the platform of the court pump - would love to try one. E
  6. You have hit the nail on the ead. Based on my personal experience and discusstions with many men - and a few women, there is an appreciation of watching a woman smoothly and gracefully moving about on crutches, and there is a bonus to the observer if she is in a heel. Having had my leg in a very long cast for an extended period prior to losing it, I was able to extract people's feelings toward both modes of the need for crutches. I am prepared to answer anyone's curiosity pertaining to my situation. E
  7. In my opinion, you should have tried them on, but don't beat yourself up because you didn't. You already enjoy the act of simply wearing heels so why not add to it. Men usually don't wear heels or woman's shoes, so I imagine that there is a little bit of a thrill trying them on in the store, daring, being outside the box, living on the edge. If nothing else, the elderly ladies surely would have enjoyed watching you. E
  8. Can't think of anything else to say except Thanks
  9. What's not to like? I am unable to enjoy trying-on and wearing both heels when shopping. But then, there is the sensation of pushing the envelope in one heel and crutches. Sorry to harp on that, but it is a thrill every morning or whenever dressing to slip into a heel and get up on my crutches and walk. E
  10. I definitely will keep that in mind. Would enjoy accompanying me on a shoe shoping expedition? E
  11. Sorry to be so late in responding to your warm welcome. I became aware of this group via highheel place, and thought that some would enjoy a different perspective. E
  12. Thanks for you response. The "silly lady" is the attitude of many of those who think that I should not be in a heel at all. let alone a four-inch stiletto and sometimes five. But the adventurous is definitly me. I have been a heel lover since high school (about 20 years) and refuse to let my physical situation interfere with my choice of footwear. Looking back, I wish that I had purchased the springolators that day and made them available to anyone expressing an interest in them. I do wear a very nude mule often and love the feeling that I will walk out of it, but it stays on and slaps the bottom of my foot, giving a click-the heel contacting the floor, slap-the sound as the shoe re-contacts my arch, thud-as my crutches hit the floor. You are in agreement with many others that I have a devil-may-care attitude which is somewhat true. I tend to be very serious about my job and the company, but at other times I enjoy life, especially since mine was spared and I am here to tell about it. Like the Budweiser man once said, "Enjoy life - every golden moment," then he realated that to is product. E
  13. I had left work early one afternoon for no reason and found myself driving into a Goodwill resale store, also for no reason. It was as if a magnet was attracting me to the shoe section where I looked over some very nice heels in my size, but a duplication of those that fill my closet at home, and to a lesser degree the closet in my office. I am able to have access to more shoes in either closet in that I am able to wear only the left shoe and use crutches for mobility, in direct defiance of the medical communities warning that crutches and a heel is the path to further injury. Then I noticed two pairs of springolators. As a child, my mom found several pairs of springolaltors when cleaning closets. Very much the same as mule, they had not back or sling strap, and had an elastic web covering the insloe streching fromjust behind the toes to about haflway up the arch. They were size 9 and I take an 8, but my curious nature took over and i dropped a left shoe on the floor and slid into it. I knew that I could handle the shoe in that I often wear a stiletto mule, but the size difference was a concern, although it was hardly noticeable. A couple of short steps, then I resumed my normal stride, and did a couple of laps around the store. There were about a dozen shoppers in the store and all paused their hunt for bargains to watch the silly lady with one leg on her crutches and in one high heel - and a dangerous one at that because she probably would walk out of it. As I passed, most of the women wore a scowl on her face while her spouse wore a supressed smile. One man, in his fifties, actually followed me to the display and picked up the shoe from the floor to the display rack - and blushed when I gave him a wink and a smile. The following day, I got the idea to purchase them but someone had beat me to it. The store manager remembered me - who could forget the silly lady wearing such a dangerous shoe while on crutches. She took my phone number and promised that if any springolators came in, she would set them aside and notify me. E
  14. I have always been a pointy toe stiletto heel pump or nice open sandal person, but finally gave in to peep toes They are in the attachment. Another half-inch and the heel would be too high for my non-adjustable forearm crutches which are sized for me in a four-inch non-platform stiletto. A good thing is that it is fine with my crutches except that if I take too long a stride, which is very possible with a higher heel, the tall slim heel bends some, but still not a problem. If anyone cares to comment, I will listen. E http://www.zappos.com/giuseppe-zanotti-i10153-rosy
  15. I love the tall boot, the last one that you would love to try on.
  16. But the ending was pleasent. E
  17. Thought I would pass this along, please open the attachment E One Heel.doc
  18. I have to agree on the height, not four-inches at all. Not my style.
  19. It is good that all you got was a tsk tsk. Pity the poor man who got an earful when they got home. I am on the receiving end of the "looks" and show my appreciation with a nice smile and maybe a wink. E
  20. I replied previously, but found these. I wore it on a business trip up north recently when the weather was cool and loved it. I only wish that the toe opening was a little more generous. I was the target of many "looks" from many men and several women, but unable to decide if it was the boot and toes itself or that I use crutches and in a heel. Nonetheless, I felt very good in it. 21. Thanks for posting the pic of the booties. There is something very attractive about them, possibly the open toe that is calling out to me that I have to have them. And thanks for relating your shopping experiences. I have observed some lifted eyebrows from people that apparently think that I should not wear a heel because of my reliance on my crutches. But in many cases from what I have seen, I am far more adept in a heel with my crutches than she is on two good legs and in heels. Every day when I slip into a heel I feel a thrill mainly because I still am able to exercise my love of wearing a heel and my ability to move aboout gracefully in one. E
  22. Very nice, thanks for posting. I really like the first one and would get them but keeping in mind that I am able to weaqr only one, the price is out of my range. E
  23. And my thanks to each and every one of you here who have commented. E
  24. In the link. I can't begin to tell how comfortable it is and how good I feel wearing it. Have it in eight or ten colors. E http://shop.guess.com/Catalog/View/CARRIE
