  1. Another oddity:- The Members List just returned a total of 34. At the bottom of the home page, the "members" figure is given as 378. They can't both be right. In view of the paucity of posters, i'm tempted to believe 34 is the more accurate figure.
  2. Me also as well! London ideal - Oxford, MK, Hemel or Watford also good :roll::cool:
  3. You pays your money & you takes your choice. Some fairly typical reviewer quotes:- The Road: "Really pulls you in and sticks with you ... an incredibly strong piece of dramatic storytelling" 2012: "2012
  4. No offence has been taken. Do say hello to M---- for me. Another meet-up with you would be excellent. Trouble is, I'm currently uber-busy with work, have run out of leave & have various stuff 'booked' for the weekends up til xmas --- Oxford & MK were family shopping trips & there's more of those to come A late night shopping jaunt around MK centre would be the most arrangable get-together option for me at the moment. We should definately go together there in the near future (Shyguy to meet up also maybe?) we could take in a movie at the multiplex afterwards - - - 'The Road' looks interesting. That would present a great cinema heeling opportunity!
  5. LOL x 2 some people just never learn do they! Being a natural cynic, I smelt a rat with a lot of his "true stories". I'm not on here to read fiction - it's only the true life stuff that interests me - so good ridance to him as far as i'm concerned.
  6. I'll give you a fiver for them ;-)
  7. Those are still in the stores. I spotted them in both the Oxford & MK branches. Dunno what sizes they have in stock though. I really like the look of those too. Their price tag does make one wince a little certainly! It wouldn't be the platform that put me off though - it would be the daft bow on the back of them. Difficult to get your trouser legs over I expect!
  8. There's a few new season items in Select at the moment that some of you may be interested in (been to the Camden branch lately Freddy?) http://www.selectfashion.co.uk/P/Black_Platform_Ankle_Boot-(3010).aspx http://www.selectfashion.co.uk/P/Black_Patent_Pleat_Shoe_Boot-(3139).aspx http://www.selectfashion.co.uk/P/Black_Patent_Pleat_Shoe_Boot-(3024).aspx Unfortunately they all have a very cheap look/feel to them "in real life". I suppose that's inevitable in view of the price of them but it's not too much of a problem if you are wearing them under long trousers I guess
  9. We're all a bit irregular on this site! ;-)  Seriously though, I had a "sighting" at the weekend as well. I was in Camden for a gig on Saturday. During a pre-gig wander around the shoe shops, I saw a guy browsing interestedly at a display of stiletto platforms. He was approx. 30 and had a pale complexion and (what looked like) plucked/shaped eyebrows so I guessed he was a TV or a drag queen having a day off!?! :-o I didn't speak to him. What can one say in those situations that doesn't sound (a) creepy (:-o like a battyboy chat-up line © both!!!
  10. They probably work OK with thick socks!!!
  11. There's this --- 2000+ women wearing heels and walking a circuit of the centre --- how on earth did you miss it!?! http://www.heelsthatheal.com/thewalk.html
  12. eh? there's no swearing in the Rocky Horror lyrics. there's some risque lines in places but nothing that would shock Sid James, Hattie Jacques or Graham Norton. http://www.rockymusic.org/lyricscat/rocky-horror/ It's a "gothic-themed, schlock-horror comic-book fantasy romp" basically - the entire thing was written by Richard O'Brien (he of Crystal Maze fame), a man who's as 'camp as christmas' (and quite probably bisexual although he's never admitted it) which accounts for all the pervy stuff in there. [url=http://www.rockymusic.org/lyricscat/rocky-horror/]
  13. I like the opening song (Science Fiction/Double Feature) & the two at the end (I'm Going Home + Superheroes). Not too keen on the rest of them. I love the closing quotation:- "And crawling, on the planet's face, some insects... called the human race. Lost in time, and lost in space... and meaning". That's far out man!
  14. Re. Rocky Horror Are you going to see the show at MK Theatre? In view of the lack of a celebrity cast (Steve Pemberton - pathetic!) & the rip-off prices I shan't be going, unless I can aquire some free tickets from somewhere. Would be good to go to a performance again one day though - it's the perfect 'cover' for a heel-wearing bloke.
  15. false / pretend / artificial / knock-off - yeah, it typically means that sort of thing (i.e. it's not good!). I think the perforated version of these boots look more interesting. They're still nowt special for
  16. Got these off eBay last week- They were said to be in great condition (nearly new) but are actually pretty well worn & scuffed (the lying eBastid). oh well, they're Faith leather ankle boots so would have probably been
  17. Hmm, they're somehow a bit 'grannyish' those (IMO). Yep, nice but a bit too showy and fetish-like (pointyness & patentness). I like these ones better than the two above. I'm 99% likely to get a pair when I find them in a sale. Maybe still a bit too grannyish !?! http://www.newlook.co.uk/1720839/172083901/ProductDetails.aspx
  18. It's not too bad --- I'm '11th highest' in terms of total number of posts (joint ninth now, including this one) :-(
  19. I just spotted these on eBay... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Lace-up-ankle-boots-gorgeous_W0QQitemZ320408218905QQcmdZViewItemQQptZWomen_s_Shoes?hash=item4a99d16d19&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14 ... and thought "ooh, i like them, i must have a punt". then I remembered i've already got a brand new pair of them - theyre been stuck at the back of my wardrobe for 3 months+ & havent been worn since I bought them due to lack of opportunity. ;-)
  20. *** a tumbleweed drifts slowly by... a lone coyote howls mornfully in the far distance ... a light drizzle of rain begins to fall .... *** sheesh, this must be the quietest forum on t'internet ;-) visiting here, I sometimes feel like i'm in an episode of the Twilight Zone or something - - - "The Last Heeler in Cyberspace!"
  21. i had a look in the MK Priceless today but alas, no sign of the boots or platforms that I'd seen online. ;-) on the plus side, I saw that there's a Kurt Geiger outlet at the centre now - some loverly items in there albeit a tad pricey! no privicy for trying on either, drat it.
