I noticed something about noisy heels on my latest walks. When out with my wife I thought the heels were a bit loud but she didn't notice anything. I also noticed the more I tried to quieten my steps the worse they sounded. Ignoring the sound made it go away, so most of the heel noise seems to be in my own head.

Been off the heels for a while, but tonight I was back in the acceptable boots for walking the dog with my wife. Just feels good to walk with the extra height and comfort. I have noticed that the soles are wearing already, and there is a hole in the heel rubber. It's to be expected of cheap boots of course, but it'll be an achievement to wear out a pair of heels

Those look very nice, I'm more a fan of the rounded toe like these than the pointier ones you seem to favour if your other links are anything to go by.

Good find Freddy, don't know why but I do like the look of those. A bit disappointed on the lack of thick socks though lol.
-
Thick waterproof socks if the current weather keeps up.
-
I don't understand it either, boots for winter, with open toes??
I also didn't understand the "why" of these, but they do look good to me even if not practical.

It does look interesting, but noticing Nigels post made me think again about it. As it's sponsored by a magazine it's going to be high profile, and I'm not ready to step up as a poster boy for the men in heels campaign yet lol.

Great visit then, at least they were open to alternative lifestyle choices lol.

Might have slowed me down a little, but I walk too fast for my wife so that's not a problem lol. Might have been the overall look.

Just for clarity on the 'boundary' point .... Did you walk out together, or were you seen leaving with slightly higher heels on? :oops:We often do the evening walk together, and last night Mrs Shyguy was waiting at the door when I appeared in the higher heels. The others she has accepted, but add just over 1/4 inch to the height and a different toe box and they were just too much. Still did the walk together but even though the evening was warm there was a chill lol.

Tonight I upped the ante a little by wearing a different pair of boots with a slightly higher block heel. Pushed the boundaries a little close to the edge for mrs Shyguy though oops.
It answered the backpain question though. Even the heels are harder (and noisier) I still didn't suffer back pain from walking, so it looks like the height rather than the type of heel doing the trick.

After about a week or so of not wearing heels again, last night was dog walking alone time again. So I got my jeans and heeled boots and went for a bit of a walk with the pup. Saw a gang of youths looking for trouble and decided that with or without heels I wanted no part of their evening and took evasive action. Still had a fair walk, and found my back pain even with the harder heels is lessened. It's either psychological or the change in posture.
This morning went for a very long walk with the dog, and wore my boots which are very comfortable considering they are cheapies. It was in daylight but saw hardly anyone around and don't think it would have mattered if I had, as the heels are pretty nondescript. Even after a long walk my feet were fine and my back didn't ache. Enjoyable way of both me and the pup getting out and doing what we want to.

I like those boots you linked at Dune, very ice and look masculine even with the heel.
I agree in the main about swearing in songs although sometimes it gets a point across. A lot of music these days seems to contain profanity just to get the kids to listen as their parents won't like it. My daughters used to keep playing certain music for that reason, but by me not complaining they soon got bored with trying to get a reaction from dad.
I must watch the Rocky Horror show again on DVD and remind myself of the songs.

I want to get to the Rocky Horror in MK, and may get to go with Mrs Shyguy (just maybe). It's one of those things I want to do someday anyway.

Isn't Faux a French word for false lol. Sounds dead exotic though Faux Leather. Nice looking boots though, not going to bother saving to buy them though.

How did that go?Underwhelming. Missed the fancy dress judging and the "Rockyoke" turned out to be just pop Karaoke with the Rocky Horror Hearse in the back of the stage. All in all a wasted journey.

I prefer the Lip 109 styles.

Evans has a sale on of Boots and Shoes. Can be a bit frumpy but some styles look ok and a lot have big reductions and large sizes.

A bit off topic for heels4men, but close enough... To celebrate the Rocky Horror show coming to MK theatre they are having a fancy dress and Rocky Horror Karaoke at MK Centre this Saturday the 19th Sept. I will be popping up there for an hour or so to take a look. Anyone else going to see what's happening?

Following on from the Alton towers link... A few years ago we went to Thorpe park with a friend of my wife and took all the children. My wifes friend put her daughter in some heels so she would meet minimum height requirements. Due to the carefully picked staffs diligence she got on all but one ride, where she was spotted as wearing heels and not allowed on.
The story about the Unions and heels has been rumbling on for a while now. Someone is obviously justifying their job with that one.

More wedge wearing today. This time at Interchange Retail park in Bedford. An hour or so around there and also a craft shop nearby in Kempston. Then over to MK for another shop my wife wanted to buy some stuff in. All in the Next wedges of the first post. Lots of time in my heels lately then.

Walking in 4" heels for any length of time is something to be applauded, wearing them enough to wear out tips is certainly an acheivement. As for the exercise thing, anything that gets me off my lazy butt has got to be good, and dog walking in my own heels has knocked a few pounds off me so far and been a good incentive.
Glad to hear you're enjoying your walks Freddy keep those tales coming.

Just as an update, these shoes in the original story are ones I often wear to walk the dog now, and it is a complete non issue. Also as an aside one of my daughters bought some ballet pumps (flats) and they were a little tight, and my wife suggested I wear them to stretch them for her, so she handed them to me and asked me to wear them round the house for a while. No issues for anyone with that. The girls still haven't seen me in heels though apart from the wedges which they haven't noticed yet.

Another 2 outings today, this time in my Shoe Zone boots with a block heel. Firstly I went dog walking for around 40 minutes, and they're comfortable boots for a cheapy pair. Then I had to go with the wife to MK shopping centre and wore them there too. Mrs Shyguy said they look ok with the longer jeans I wore and had no problems with them. All good then
