At What Places Have You Been Wearing Heels?
FastFreddy2 replied to Love4heels's topic in Heelbucks chit chat Cafe
Copied from another thread ..... Wore >> these << tonight. And unusually (with me in heels) Mrs Freddy wore some very high Pied-à-Terre wedges. [Photo to follow.] So we went to the 'pub-disco', though at least an hour later than planned. The floor of the venue was very well padded carpet. Really difficult to stand on in heels, as it felt like your foot wanted to roll over. Bit like standing on tough bubble-wrap. We had a little dance, my first attempt in heels at doing that. Will not be trying that there again in heels. It would be an invitation to break an ankle. Past that ..... We had to walk about 100 yards to the place, and back again afterward. No-one was seen to notice my footwear (very discreet). Not inside, nor passing the entrance where smokers were congregating. Very happy. Brother of an ex-girlfriend was there, but I didn't make myself known to him. Last time we met, I almost chucked him out the Bar I was working in. That same night - but after I left, not only did he get chucked out anyway [drunk], he got a lifetime ban too.[Disorderly.] He will be a regular at the place we went tonight, so will possibly talk at some stage, though it's been 2 or 3 years since we've seen each other. As I don't plan to wear heels there again [broken ankle liability], I doubt us talking and him having to look upward at me is likely to be a problem anyway. That said, his sister (an ex I still see from time to time) is fully aware of my interest in heels. Not the last time she and I spoke (when I was with my mother), but the time before we had met in the womens clothes section of a large supermarket. Only thing she said; "Buying something for you?" Smirked, and carried on walking. Actually, she had me 'bang to rights' guv. I was pricing up some new leggings, which I wear as long-johns. There have been about 20 days this year I haven't worn them under any trouser I might also be wearing. With legs as skinny as mine, I gotta keep 'em warm. -
Okay, I intrigued/interested ..... Any chance of a link? Fair comment. I wish I had started being that sensible, around 4 years ago. I'd be at least £1000 better of, though might only own 10 pairs of boots..... Older .... Wiser.

Sooooooo unkind. -
Well, dead jealous about this! Sounds like you had a really good time. I have to say, Westfield is a place I would like to try high [thin] heels as the flooring is so smooth I wouldn't need to worry about heels getting chewed up in holes/grates/cracks. I just don't own 'uber' high/elegant heels in anything other than stiletto's. Maybe as block heels get more and more popular .... As for you actually buying more heels ...... The collection has stopped shrinking then? Reason for edit: Typo.

Agreed. I'm not advocating children being chained to parents. We have the same arrangement with the grandson. Get lost, find a shop and get them to call the police. [Even us adults, if we lose each other, go back to where you last saw each other, or at least stand still. It's harder to find someone who is moving around.] But there is a world apart from being kept close, to being so wrapped up in what you're doing that a child has time enough to be a long way off. I doubt a (very) young child of yours, was ever allowed enough time [10+ minutes] to have completely removed themselves from the shop they were in? If either of these two had gone in the opposite direction to the one they did, neither would have been found anything like as quickly. While there are doubtless predators out there, I suspect there are significantly more opportunists. The idea is you don't provide opportunities, to opportunists.... The first child was barely walking age, and mooching about unsupervised the whole time I was in Next. If he had fallen against some shelving, or pulled something off a shelf, going home would have been via the local A+E unit. The 5 women [not girls] were completely oblivious to where the child was. The second child was older, but none of the three people with him had any idea where he was. The mother left the shop to look for him. Once out there, he could have been taken by anyone. As luck would have it, he was deep inside the shop, but still outside hearing distance from his frightened mother. How easily do bad things happen? Once in London [oddly, close to where the Freddies eat out], I was there with family as a young boy. My younger brother needed the loo, and popped down into the public toilet close to where we stood. He was a little while and came out crying. It was some minutes before we found out why. A man inside had touched him. My father ran down the steps immediately he realised what had gone on, but the place was now empty. In many ways there is no comparison. But the lesson learned by me at least, is if you give bad people the opportunity to do bad things, sometimes they will. Ian Huntley, for example. Maybe I labour the point. But I still feel there's a world of difference from the momentary lapse [which itself can be fateful/dangerous] to the outright cavalier 'couldn't be bothered' attitude I witnessed. .....

How To Let Your Friends And Family Know U Wear High Heels
FastFreddy2 replied to Love4heels's topic in Friends and Family
"Excuse"? No idea, but I'd like to be there when the first person asks! Honestly, your 'nearest and dearest' is good with the situation, and obviously isn't at all phased by it. In fact publishing photo's with you wearing heels suggests she is pleased to be seen with you wearing them. [As we also know from her introducing you to friends while you were wearing heels.] I think this makes you fairly bullet proof if it came to any criticism. I'd suggest it's a 'go with the flow' situation. If people ask, tell them what they need to know (and probably no more). I've been asked why when I've volunteered my interest, and not needed to say any more than "I enjoy wearing heels". Two people, a male friend and ex-girlfriend (of some years), when pre-warned I was going to tell them something startling both said; "Was that it?" Both deflated because I'd seemingly exaggerated my special interest. I think you'll be fine. -
I hope you are as proud of your family, as you might be. As for wearing heels, it sounds like you might wear them to mostly the same places I have? I consider these places 'dress to impress' or at least venues where I would like to be seen in my 'clean and tidy' mode. You might want to add a reply >> here << For a big chunk of my working life, I was expected to wear suit and tie. More recently, I dress mostly like a builder/decorator. Mrs Freddy far prefers the suit attire..... Sadly, that's saved for mostly unhappy family occasions these days. [aka funerals.] Been a while since I've been to a nightclub too. I'm hoping we are going to what we Brits know as a 'pub disco' tonight. It's a monthly gig been going on for some years for what is considered "old school" music, and we've never been before. Mrs Freddy is working tomorrow, so we have a designated driver. It also means we won't be out late, which will suit me fine if the music isn't very good. We are not expecting to meet anyone we know, though there is a chance we might. The rain will doubtless keep numbers low, and maybe stop others travelling. The venue is 15 miles from most of our friends, and with the monsoon grade weather we are getting most days, is likely an unattractive journey for most. Hopefully, we won't cry off too. ....

Excellent stuff. They look higher on too! (Never a bad thing. ) You are in the US?

I'll take either. Please! -
Went shopping to Brent Cross [North London shopping mall] this evening. I've mentioned before, this is a very mixed race venue, with English being in the minority. I'm happy to wear heels there, as it's a busy place. Mindful the cultural background of the shoppers I do get to see things that surprise me, and once in a blue moon, something that shocks. Tonight was a blue moon night. At one shop called Next that sells both clothes and housewares, I saw what must have been a year old child running around in the housewares section completely unsupervised. There were 5 women in the group who could have been supervising, including his mother. Not until they were ready to leave, did they realise the baby was nowhere to be seen. It would be true to say we English are paranoid about child abduction, because around once a year, something pretty bad is reported in the media. [Madeleine McCann being a very well know example.] There was never any obvious danger of this tonight, but housewares is a dangerous place for an unsupervised 1 year old.... He was quickly found, [at the far end of the store] and was unharmed. My thoughts about this, can not be published here. Later, I was in another shop, called River Island, which is fundamentally a girls fashion shop. They had a shoe sale, so I was rummaging. The place was heaving with customers, the new sale of summer clothes drawing them in. After a few minutes, to one side of me some 15 paces away, I thought I heard something that sounded like a cross between a cough and a bark. [Might have been "Rah!"] I thought someone was going to be ill. I heard it again, and couldn't see where it was coming from, though it sounded like it came from the till area. It went off again, I still couldn't see where the sound came from, but everyone in the shop started looking towards the tills too. Suddenly, a mother came running past shouting the name. Several more shouts/barks, as she passed me on the way to the shop front. More shouts, and she came back into the store, running past. The store music was on still, but no-one was doing anything other than watch the horror that was unfolding..... The mother had lost her child. A couple more shouts, and a noise could be heard from far back inside the store. Staff had found the child somewhere, possibly far enough away from the mothers call, for her sound to be drowned by the loud music. The mother was relieved, but still in shock. Several people came forward to comfort her. I'm not young, and have the benefit of experience. I'm fairly easy going when it comes to child supervision, but there is never a time a child in my care is somewhere I can't see them. Never. We all know, we know, it's a moments lapse that puts a child off the path and onto the road. It's a momentary lapse that finds a child in the river. It's a momentary lapse that has a child in a strangers arms, and gone forever. Tonight I saw in the eyes of a mother, the look I work hard to ensure, is never seen in my eyes. The blind panic of realising a child is missing.... A look I (obviously) work harder at, than two mothers I saw tonight. Thankfully, happy endings to both reports. ......

Sounds good. Stories .... Pictures?

Wow, that all does sound pretty 'full on'. I've got to ask because it's not actually stated.... Do your children know/see you in heels, or you keep it discreet? Sounds like you have a lot of support, which is a great thing to enjoy ... If your schedule ever allows? ....

I vaguely remember the seller being mentioned elsewhere, though not on the internet auction site. I've been tempted in the past, but ...... Whatever the starting price happens to be, carriage at circa £30 has to be added, then 20% Value Added Tax is added by the government to the combined total when they are delivered. If the boots don't fit, it would be an expensive exercise. And as you rightly point out, some of the heel shapes look a little .... awkward? ......

Hello and welcome. Nice looking shoe, nothing wrong with your taste. I'm not 100% sure, but you might need to have 5 posts made before you can add pictures. Looking forward to your next posts. Very well done, on your shoe trying/buying outing.

At What Places Have You Been Wearing Heels?

Slightly amended, to read better. What I'd like is a holiday that ...... Provides clear water near rock/stone beaches where I can pretend to be a dolphin and stay in the water all day. Quiet roads into hills that provide interesting views if I venture out on a hired mountain bike. Covered shopping facilities, should it rain. Warm dry evenings where I can sit either during dinner, or after, and watch the world walk past in interesting clothes. [Cafe/Bar near some night clubs perhaps? With well made paved pathways, not cobbled stones laid by a workman with faulty eyesight 60 years ago.] And not least, a room in a hotel far enough away from noise [and noisy neighbours] to enjoy a good nights rest. Should be easy? I have no idea where this place might be? -

The airports I use over here are larger, some much larger. I'm not so bothered with complete strangers seeing me in heels, though removing them in front of 200+ other people waiting to get through the scanners, was a challenge I wasn't expecting. [There was about 5 scanning ports with long queues of people snaking around them.] Mrs Freddy is shortly to have her second holiday abroad this year. I haven't had one for 3 years (I think), and am no longer as keen as her to sit out in the sun. She is feeling slightly guilty about this, and is trying to persuade me to go away in September. I don't like to fly, but warm weather in this country is looking even less likely than usual. If I succumb, I need to go somewhere I can wear heels. Our usual venue is Ibiza, but the UK£ vs, Euro€ conversion rate has made this wholly unattractive to me. The economic problems in Spain have made pricing more competitive, and the Euro is falling against the UK£. Maybe ...... My last three holidays were two or one week long breaks to Spanish mainland [complete disaster] Majorca, which was a little boring and one to Ibiza. At our Balearic resort, a ferry had sunk a few miles offshore and the beaches were spotted with heavy oil [tar] that wasn't very pleasant. It wasn't possible to walk on the beaches without getting asphalted feet, nor avoid collecting heavy oil on the inside of swimwear if you ventured into the water. On balance [reading back what I've just written] I think I'll be staying at home again this year. .... -
"Last minute" meeting around the UK?

For that sort of money, I'd expect someone to help me clean them too. -
Hello and welcome. With 6 children I'd be surprised if you had time for anything, much less finding time to write on a heel forum? That said, you must have many events to report regarding heels and family life, that probably seem mundane and uninteresting to you, that might be surprisingly interesting to the rest of us? If you can find the time, please tell us how you work these things out? +1

At What Places Have You Been Wearing Heels?

I did okay until I went through UK security. I was wearing >> these << at the time. Mens shoes were being scanned if they had any sort of heel on them. They were not that easy to get off discreetly, and I wasn't happy walking around in socks on dirty floors. I might have been scarlet faced at the time, but I don't recall anyone else looking twice, and even in the departure lounge no one looked or pointed a finger either. From the other end, I got a bit smarter and kept my clear plastic [jelly] sandals on, until we were in the departure lounge. So I travelled both ways in heels. My thinking at the time that if nothing else good came of the journey, I'd die in heels! I'm happy it's one of my life goals, I've so far failed at. -

Oooohhh. Interesting list. Grocery stores: A number of times. Shopping mall: Every one I've ever been to. Electric supply stores: Not yet. Car work shop: Never, not likely to. Hairdresser: No, but tempted. If not mine, certainly at Mrs Freddy's. Dentist: Never, nor likely to. [Known him for years, and he's very local.] Stroll in town: Once, more visits expected. Cinema: Almost very time. Restaurants: Almost every time. Bar/pubs: Once (meeting friends briefly). Have a plan .... At work: Some, but not likely to again. Out with friends: Once or twice, more expected. [With limited group.] Out with colleagues: Never. At friends house: Not likely. At ferries: Not had the choice yet. With relatives: At parents. No one else. *Airport/aeroplane: Couple of times. Had to take heels off in public for X-Ray check. One extra added. I don't travel by air very often, and only then when I have no alternative mode of travel to a destination. -
"Last minute" meeting around the UK?

Well done for finding those! Sherlock Holmes has nothing on you. These were in the LV Autumn/Winter collection 2011/2012 it seems, so not only too expensive unless in a sale, but I'm too late to buy a pair for Mrs Freddy. (Thankfully. ) Really good find.
