I am, but I'm loathe to wear a heel anywhere in Herts, unless under the cover of darkness. Shopping malls, high streets, theatres etc, no problem. I've started another thread about this venture, as it's slightly off-topic, and is interesting enough to justify the new thread. Watford has a larger Primarni and larger New Look. Luton might be considered better still. Have a think.

Taken from another thread (too off-topic). I doubt it's possible to find a Size 10 (ladies) 'in-stock' in a retail store. I have some notion PriceLess Shoes keep them under their online Big Feet branding, but I don't recall their correct name, nor do I know if it still exists? Evans might also do a UK10, but I've no experience of them or their size range. I've seen some size 9's in Primarmi, and New Look. I've recently seen a suitable high heel style claimed UK9½ in ALDO, but again, I doubt either of these would accommodate a wide fitting. The ALDO shoes/boots, were circa £100. Since you've mentioned a rural town centre for high heel shopping, I have my doubts you'll get any success. I'd respectfully suggest a larger town or better, a city, or maybe a weekend 'goth' type fair where a wider range of sizes and suitable styles might be available. Depending on your budget, there are a number of places the newbie might try. There's a couple in the UK that hand-make to a UK10, and Love4heels has his made abroad at an unbelievably attractive price if it's within budget. Where are you hoping to find a size 10? ALDO 9½ = US 42½ .....

Part 3 of 3 Nicest style I saw worn all day. I did get to a Jane Norman (horrible shops) where I finally managed to find a size 8 in their £25 court shoe. Perfect fit, but only available in white, as all black stock in my size had sold out. Visited another couple of shops, before having to say goodbye to Euchrid. Walking back towards the parked car, we passed John Lewis, and I went in. Found the same KG black leather courts I'd tried in Selfridges, and this time failed to resist temptation. Made a purchase. Don't know why I was so keen on the Jane Norman £25 shoes, when the (significantly) better quality KG were available for £30? So, back to car and left London. Really good day out.

Part 2 of 3 Leaving Marks, we walked out into the street. Great shopping shoes! We finally met up with hh4evr1 in Primarmi. [Primark, to the non-cynical.] While there,we had a good look at the shoe section, and were completely disappointed. I personally had hoped for some residual boots to be on sale, leftovers from winter, but no such luck. Saw again, the shopper with the red bag (post above), but it was too busy in there to get a piccy. Of the many shops we visited, Selfridges was included. New lines available, but sales lines were few. I tried on a couple of pairs, notably some KG stiletto shoes, but just couldn't justify owning another pair of courts I probably would never wear? Busy place though. Saw our 'stalker' there (again) too.

Part 1 of 3 OOPS! Forgot to complete this ...... [Duh.] Myself with walking companion drove into the West End, and if I remember, we actually arrived at the agreed time. [Law of averages says even I must get it right occasionally.] Got off to a good start by getting a quick 'snap' of shopping heels while in traffic queue. Parked and met up with Euchrid. We three to Marks for coffee and chat. Waited for hh4evr1 who had rung to say he was on his way. Half hour later, we were still waiting...... Time moving on, we three elected to start looking around the shops. We found out later, hh4evr1 had the right town, but wrong road, so wrong Marks. The last time we three had met, we'd done the central section of Oxford Street, but not the Western end, where Primarni is located, hence meeting up and having coffee at Marks. The initial walk around the store retail area produced a picture of a shopper we would see several times again. .

Not sure I can make that, even though the venue is in my home county. Is 'the plan' for the new heel owner to walk around in his new heels?

Enough. There really was no need. Very few people failed to notice them, and certainly, just about every staff member noticed. One or two staff I talked to, had spotted them before I had to have a conversation. When there was maybe only 10 staff left (total) as the place was closing up, and as many others in the whole venue, I twice had to walk from one end to the venue to the other, clip clopping past individuals. Me walking on a polished wood floor wearing 4½" stiletto courts, that I was struggling to keep on my feet. Had a bit of a fiasco getting out of the car park, with no one around to help. Managed it in the end, but not without hearing the words "I'm just trying to do my job" from the security section. All ended well, but there was a moment or two when it didn't look that way. Hopefully, full story and pictures to follow.

Planning to wear a slightly flared (girls) dark blue jean, with a shirt if temperatures allow. Haven't worn courts out for thirty years, and then only in clubs. (Though maybe to/from my parked car too, but that would have been in darkness.) I'm hoping to keep the shoes on my feet while I'm out, and be 'brave' enough to keep them on. They have quite a pointy toe. I'll have a couple more pairs of shoes with me, just in case.

I have treated myself to the attendance of a performance by Ludovico Einaudi at the London Barbican Hall, When I made >> this << post, I decided that if ever I got the chance to see him play live (despite the recording of an earlier concert being available on-line) I would endeavour to attend. Found out recently I'd missed a round of gigs during April this year. My frustration was compounded by finding the impending gigs back at the Barbican, looked to be sold out by the time I'd found out about the second tour. Alternatively, I was faced with a 120 mile each way drive to Bournemouth to see him perform. Plus, the venue there is huge, so getting close enough to see the fella play might be impossible. Not sure how it came about, but a handful of tickets became available with only a week to go before the performances. [Could these be 'returns'?] Anyhow, there's now a ticket waiting in the Box Office, LITERALLY with my name on it. I mention this here, because I've also (finally) provided myself with the opportunity - I hope - to wear some court shoes out. Whilst the venue is essentially a public theatre, entry is by ticket only, so it's 'technically' a private venue. Photography should not be possible, and certainly publishing photo's taken in a private place without consent, could break privacy law. Yes, I done this, BUT I've always been careful to exclude the identity of the subject, usually the venue too, and I've never included any defamatory or unfavourable comment. [The one image I did publish with a less than generous remark about, the subject was sitting in a public place when the photo was taken - as luck would have it. ] These court shoes will be ones I've not worn out before, so I may need to take a box of plasters with me. Given my recent experience of a stiletto heel getting graunched in a hole in the pavement, I'm hoping the walk from the car park is uneventful. The shoes cost me the princely sum of something like £10, so financially there will be no great loss, but they are lovely shoes despite their low monetary value. Full report after the gig.

The name of the picture, is; "KG Sindy", Google will take you to a number of places where they are still available. (Just). There is no zip. The buckle undoes, and allows the front part of the ankle cover to move forward. The gap isn't huge, but allows for a fairly comfy ankle when the strap is done up again. The boots are heavily padded, and they are definitely a wear all day boot. Just checked and most places are looking to be Sold Out (of my size), which may be just as well. They don't come up overly large, and an 8 on me was quite snug, though the padding in the footbed might have been responsible for some of that. I would really like to own a pair, BUT, I just can't justify owning them .... P.S. They are available in white, if you need something other than black?

You were going to pay £70 for these: rather than pay £40 for these? ...... ? Not a decision I could understand.

I have had the same problem with many of the tall-boot styles I've tried. With legs like match sticks, I've yet to find a close fitting tall-boot. It's why I generally stick to ankle boots. Although a shorter length oversize shaft isn't so much of a problem, I could easily see how it could be undesirable. Given that NEXT does on-line shopping, not sure why you haven't added a picture or link to those?

As far as I know, I haven't made mistakes with my DIY'ing, always opting for the 'belt and braces' solution. Well, not made a mistake until last week that is. I'd spent some weeks changing the shape of walls where the new bath was going to get fitted (by me.) All was good, except being without a bath was getting very difficult, several days into a 30 degree heatwave. I fitting the bath prematurely, opting to tank it later, and fit it permanently when the weather cooled. [Our summer lasted 3 weeks last year.] So I fitted the bath, and to stop water getting splashed onto the newly replaced flooring, used decorators caulk rather than silicone around the outside of the bath. This stuff isn't waterproof, and usually 'peels' off quite easily. I chose a good brand, and paid extra for the better quality stuff. MISTAKE! This week it was time to remove the bath and tank the walls, prior to tiling. The caulk appears to be better than silicone and better than most adhesives. I have spent the better part of a day digging the stuff out from around the bath, wrecking the repaired walls, and putting 2 scratches in the new bath. I've no skin left on any (finger) knuckle of my right hand. I could cry. 1. I should never have used the caulk I did, and in fact letting drips of water hit the flooring, would have caused less damage. I will use several days getting the walls back to their original condition, plus I'll spend another day cleaning the very-well-bonded caulk off the bath. 2. If I had known before I started how much damage removing the caulking was going to cause, I'd have left it in place, and done the 'tanking' over it. Older - wiser? (Let's hope.)

I've been the 'official' wedding photographer at two weddings. Unpaid, but with the same responsibility of a paid professional. Artistically the first was a disaster. 3pm wedding on an overcast early November afternoon, it was practically dark when we did the group photo outside the church. I swore I'd never do it again. The couple were happy though, as the photo's I took were just about the only ones they had to celebrate their marriage. More recently I found myself volunteering to do the photo's for a second couple. Both marrying for the second time, so neither in their best condition, looks wise. Consequently the bride wasn't so keen on photo's. The groom was, and I said I'd do what I could to make them both happy with the results. Lovely sunny day, got lots of group photo's, and lots of the happy couple. They were both pleased with the results, so I guess it went ok. Sad ending to the story ....... They had been interested in each other when young, and eventually got back together when they both lost their respective first spouses. After being together for 3 or so years, they married. They were together for a another couple of years, when the husband died suddenly, though he did have a list of medical problems. (A photo I'd taken at the wedding, was used on the funeral Order of Service.) Thankfully, they had made the most of their time together, and the widow has many happy memories to live with. He was a lovely man, who I quite liked. So! It seems you are heavily involved with the wedding, and also performing. I'm sure the night before the event, you'll get less sleep than the couple getting married. You are very brave to take on the role you have. I'm sure it'll go well though. Sounds like you have done a lot of preparation, and have the skills and experience to 'pull off' the event. . Obviously we can't join you, but if there's any chance of showing us some video of you performing (with heels or without), I'm sure we'd all welcome the chance of watching. Another interesting report! Thank you. I have a lot of sympathy for trying to be careful with children, and taking care of their perceptions of what is "normal", what is acceptable. There is much I would share about my past, my present, with my immediate family. But expecting children to be as accommodating as an adult could or should be, maybe a tall ask. I'm sure they have a greater ability to accept an unusual situation, but may not be able to cope with all the negatives that could come out of that situation. For example: A child brought up with two fathers, or two mothers, may fully enjoy that situation. Further, they may even understand that while their situation isn't the more common family setup, they don't feel negative about it? But are they, would they, be strong enough to withstand the verbal attacks from other children who did not find the situation so attractive or acceptable? For my own situation; because you can't undo letting Jack out of the box, it's easier to keep him in it. I'm sure I will tell, but not for a while yet. The little fella I'm talking about is 10 years old, and of course knows everything about everything. (How little we actually know when we are young?) If it helps him stay confident, I don't need to burst his bubble with reality. Has your daughter made any direct remarks to you about wearing red boots with 4" heels since? I would take some conversation about it as her confirming some acceptance, and feeling calm enough about it, to speak of it directly to you. P.S. Hope the wedding goes well! ........

Yeeeeeep! I look in at least twice a day, to see if anyone's contributed. Always try to respond too. Have recently spent some time on You Tube, "in debate" with 3 or 4 others, about the 2nd Amendment, and it's use in Texas. P.S. Reference the cat, was misdiagnosed as a "she", and we now know it's a "he". Or used to be.

The commercial seller finally did his own advert, and own pictures, or at least it looks that way. Maybe they just copied someone elses listing? "Truth will out" though. They've now got 6 red cards on 60 sales. I thought that would get their account suspended, but people keep buying. On my own account, of four things listed - none sold. Finally, a 'golden duck' sales week. Odd, because the shoes I had listed got 4 watchers and 60 views. That sort of interest normally results in a sale? Similarly, another item got 13 watchers, 157 views, and two 'message' enquiries. But still no sale? That was a shock. Especially since the item was new, but listed at a 'used' price point. Everything but the shoes went back on sale. Not sure sure what to do about those at the moment.

I have in mind to do something similar. (i) to keep cat safe (ii) to let cool air in and keep the bugs out. Mrs Freddy has a pathological dislike of spiders and crane flies, with me feeling pretty much the same way about mosquito's. Normally I wouldn't need to worry. Since just about the only time the cat leaves my side, is to have his afternoon nap on top of that temporary wardrobe. This time, something I was doing in the bathroom scared him (not hard) and he bolted into the bedroom. Things were quiet for a while, and I was busy. When I looked around the bedroom for him prior to closing the windows, because turning on the lights would start attracting bugs from outside, there was no sign of him. I did wonder where he was, but I had no concept of him venturing outside - none at all. He'd previously been reluctant to go on windows sills having been scared once, by a passing car!!?? We'd wrongly assumed for him, they were "no go" areas. We've learned our lesson. If he's awake and moving around the house, any window he could reach gets closed. Glad to hear your kitten survived too. Can be a hard lesson learned if they get hurt falling from height.
