  1. No-one knows of my interest. I would love to be open about it but I just don’t see it being accepted. My OH thought my Cuban heels were too feminine, and as I never wore them, I was forced to clear them out. The reason I never wore them is I thought they were too baggy round the ankle and never looked right - I only wore skinny jeans at the time.
  2. I did only say maybe! In fact, with so many more choices, I could never get bored. Your office dress code sounds perfect.
  3. I am certainly grateful for job security. Maybe if I worked in heels all day, I wouldn’t enjoy them so much.
  4. Cocking a snook at convention is not something that would go down too well at my work. Although there is an element of performance to my job and I sometimes think wearing heels would help bring out a bit more flair (I’m a classic introvert, so find the performance exhausting). So maybe for now I just stick to some more creative endeavours at home.
  5. My heel wearing is confined to the house and when there is no-one else in. On a few recent occasions, I have been afforded a whole afternoon to myself in which to indulge. Apart from wearing a few different pairs and trying out different outfits, and practising walking from one corner of the room to another, I’ve been at a bit of a loss at what to do. What do people enjoy doing in heels?
  6. That’s a tough one. At first I thought, definitely a zip. There’s something satisfying about pulling up a zip and feeling that snug fit. I feel differently about the slouch, as I’ve always thought of it as more feminine. In my mind, a slouch boot in suede looks good. So in terms of my preference, I would say, zip for leather, pull-on for suede.
  7. It’s all to do with numerical ordering and the way the numbers are sorted into lists. Also, there is no size 1, so I’m almost certain they’re adult sizes. I agree with you about the toe shape. These have a nicer shaped toe, but I’m not keen on the heel shape...
  8. I know, I should go for quality over quantity!
  9. I thought you might like this style. At that price, it’s quite tempting.
  10. I noticed that another recent member had posted some pictures of his stiletto courts from ASOS. Turns out he’s a UK10, so thought I’d have a look at the women’s shoe section to see what size they go up to. I was pleasantly surprised to find these styles, available up to a UK13! https://www.asos.com/women/shoes/heels/cat/?cid=6461&currentpricerange=10-245&nlid=ww|shoes|shop by product&refine=attribute_1046:8222,8232|size:2335&scrollTo=product-20831763 Listed as 9cm/4” heel (although 9cm is closer to 3 1/2”) Just a shame they’re faux suede.
  11. They’re the ones in my avatar, and I posted some photos in the gallery section.
  12. I recently purchased some stiletto heeled ankle boots by ‘Only Maker’ via Amazon. They were listed as UK12 (EU45 according to their conversion table!). I knew it was a risk - no reviews to suggest sizing was true - and when I took them from the box they looked tiny. I was surprised to find they fitted really well. Probably not suited to a wider foot. They have a set-back vertical heel which makes them tricky to walk in, but I really like the shape of the boot. The overall quality is not bad considering and feel very sturdy for such a thin heel.
  13. I don’t mind a pointed toe, but I do prefer it when the toe mirrors the heel. So a stiletto heel looks best with a pointed toe, and a wider and more rounded heel looks best with a more rounded or almond shaped toe.
  14. So, I came up with my top 5 and wondered what others thought... https://www.asos.com/asos-design/asos-design-cuban-heel-western-chelsea-boot-in-black-leather-with-angular-sole/prd/21031113?ctaref=product_share_native https://www.asos.com/asos-design/asos-design-cuban-heel-western-chelsea-boots-in-black-faux-leather-with-angular-sole/prd/14588983?CTAref=We+Recommend+Carousel_7&featureref1=we+recommend+pers https://www.asos.com/asos-design/asos-design-cuban-heel-western-chelsea-boots-in-brown-leather/prd/13538124?ctaref=recently+viewed https://www.asos.com/asos-design/asos-design-cuban-heel-western-chelsea-boots-in-brown-leather-with-strap/prd/20156892?CTAref=We+Recommend+Carousel_2&featureref1=we+recommend+pers https://www.asos.com/asos-design/asos-design-cuban-heel-western-chelsea-boots-in-black-leather-with-lightning-detail/prd/8345050?colourwayid=15164865&SearchQuery=&cid=5774
  15. I can’t remember - this was about 9, 10 years ago, around the time of the original post. She was fine with them and wore them for long periods and I don’t remember her ever complaining.
  16. You can even filter the search for a ‘heeled’ boots in the men’s section. Only 7 styles to choose from but it’s a start.
  17. After our discussion of Cuban heels on the other thread, I did a quick online look and found this same pair. The only thing that puts me off is the seam down the middle, but other than that I like them. They’ve got some other nice styles and some are in the sale, so I could be tempted. I like the shape of these, but put off by the ‘lightning detail’.
  18. There was someone on Twitter, a couple of months ago, who was shocked that Naga was wearing ankle boots. Could you imagine his reaction to Dan wearing heels? Maybe he does, we never see his feet behind the desk!
  19. I’m based in the UK - London area. I wasn’t, but I will take a look. I do like a Cuban heel and I’m starting to think about getting a pair for work - although won’t be able to go too extreme on the height. I’m already over 6’!
  20. I know this is an old thread, but I am a long-time admirer of the Lois court. An ex-girlfriend had three pairs; black, red, and grey. I can’t remember if I bought her the first pair (black patent), though I certainly encouraged the purchase. This was quickly followed by a purchase of them in red, and then the grey pair were bought in the sale a little while later. She was keen to collect them all, but it finished with three. She would often wear them to work - office based, so not entirely out of place, but certainly a lot sexier than the footwear worn by others in the office. I remember on one occasion (she was wearing the red pair), I caught an older guy staring at them. His jaw was almost on the floor, and he was getting jittery with excitement. I thought he was going kneel at her feet and start licking them! I was always very jealous of them. There was no way I was going to squeeze my feet into them, but it did prompt me into buying my first pair of Pleaser heels - the Sexy-20, in red patent of course! I also really enjoyed this thread as it read like a thriller! I knew all about the placement of the heel making them incredibly hard to walk in - mostly due to my experience of walking in the Sexy-20 - so I was just waiting until FastFreddy came to the same conclusion. I know the positioning of the heel tip in relation to the heel of the foot has been discussed in detail in another very interesting thread.
  21. Do you travel much (in normal circumstances)? Sorry for all the questions. Photography and videography are hobbies of mine, and your job sounds really interesting.
  22. That’s a nice collection. Do you have any photos?
  23. My go-to is a stiletto court, but right now I’m a bit fixated with trying to find a pair of black leather ankle boots with a 5” stiletto heel - something with a nice clean classic shape. How many boots do you own?
  24. That’s good to know. I’ll have to start saving up!
  25. They will always have an aesthetic appeal, just not a practical one!
