I have, has a matter of fact. I have a pair of stiletto boots from them - their Tina style, a classic knee boot in chocolate brown. I am not really that much into heels, as a rule, but like flat knee and OTK boots, but I did want to try a pair of stilettos and bought myself the Tina's as an adventure. I like them very much, although I am not a fan of pointed toes and would much prefer if they were round or almond shaped. But that's by the by. The important thing was to try stilettos and I really enjoyed it, and war them often in my home office.

A 45 or 46 here which is why I have custom made boots.

A lot of suede is split very thin. The Nubuck suede on my OTK boots, with I am wearing as I write, is extremely thick and luxurious. 

Their boots really are first rate.

I'm a magazine and corporate photographer. Travel, people, landscapes would be my specialities.

I have a couple pair of made to measure boots from Jean Gaborit which I like very much. The fit is perfect, the construction spot-on and the quality of the leather is absolutely wonderful. Their suede is incredibly thick and rich.

Those boots you are looking at do indeed look very elegant. One of the great things about made to measure tall boots is the nice fit around the calves and ankles. That makes a statement pair of boots really make the statement.

I have a website for my photography it - together with 35 years worth of contacts - generates enough business for me so that I don't need to worry too much about Instagram. If I was just starting out it might be a different story 

Yes - PVC is great for skinny jeans, but not for boots. Those need to be leather in my opinion. 

I quite like vinyl jeans, but one needs to dress down the hard shininess of the vinyl with softer fabrics and looser fitting,  more understated tops.   

I'll continue to steer clear of social media, but am certainly willing to take a more active part here.

I am a professional photographer and so I know about the promotional potential of Instagram. Some of my colleagues use it a lot, others steer clear. Kind of a tough call.

I would always rather spend the extra money to have real leather or genuine, proper Nubuck suede. 

I saw a presenter of a real estate/property show wearing similar the other night. I think it is a nice look that needn’t be trashy or fetishy at all. More urban chic than Soho sordid. 

I am highly sceptical of social media ever accomplishing anything other than disquiet and enforcing a sort of mob rule - tyranny by Twitter. If anything, enforcing a broad and common mediocrity on the world. A livelier forum here, an engaging exchange of ideas, would probably accomplish more.

There just aren’t that many people who are active here. Your burst of activity prompted me to join in so hopefully others will follow suit. 

It would be nice to do get this forum running in a livelier way. I don't like FB, Twitter etc anyway - have never joined and never will. 

Mind you, that was a ten year-old post. No doubt they've long since been worn out. 

I've utterly no interest in any form of social media, but it would be nice to see this forum become a bit more lively. It has worthwhile premise and surely a large enough demographic to make it lively and conversational.

I have made several trips into London recently and was struck by how popular PVC and PU seem to be these days. Slinky PVC certainly seems to have come in from the cold lately as far as the high street goes - it's family-friendly now, found in popular fashion shops, and seen worn frequently along the high streets as well. I noticed it starting to come back into vogue a coupe of years ago and instead of being a flash in the pan seems to have gathered momentum, if anything.  

My New Year's resolutions revolve mainly around finding agents and publishers for a couple of book manuscripts I have written, but also getting more mileage on my bicycle, renewing my blogging, and learning how to walk really well in my stiletto boots. For a variety of distracting reasons I have not worn them nearly as much as I had imagined I would, but I hope to do better this year. On the bright side I have worn my (flat) knee and over-the-knee boots so much they have pretty well become my standard footwear, especially this winter. My chocolate brown knee boots, worn over skinny jeans, are worn everyday.

Where I grew up we usually started spring with two to four feet of snow in the ground.

I can certainly see your point - both as to the extra work it would take to clean up threads that had strayed too far and for too log, and for not wanting the forums to pop up on search results for CD/TV topics.

I shall bear that in mind and act accordingly! Better safe than sorry

I included getting to know stilettos in my New Years' resolutions and have done well so far, although I'm a long way from catwalk grace, I daresay. I have two pair and wear them five days week around my office. Becoming quite used to the idea - physically, mentally and emotionally - of wearing stilettos every day, and like it.

I expect she'll be back to her favourite footwear soon..
