shyguy
Having worn out my second pair of boots walking the dog, I've been scouring Ebay for low cost boots, must be black, and have around 2 inch block heel as they are the highest my wife will accept me wearing outside in size 8 UK. I previously bought ex shoezone boots from Ebay (see attachment) but they're no longer available. So I am looking for something similar to these but must be inexpensive
FastFreddy2
I'll keep my eyes peeled. I'm usually found looking at my automated searches around midnight. [sad man. ] I'm sure it won't be too long ....
hh4evr1
I Will also keep a look out. How much is inexpensive. Just so I don't come back with lots of expensive ones. lol Shoe zone link added. They have some similar boots here. Some are only £14.99. The site doesn't seem to mention heel height (apart from low, medium or high) http://www.shoezone.com/Womens-Boots Edited January 17, 2011 by hh4evr1
FastFreddy2
First browse produced these: http://cgi.ebay.co.u...=item2eb2b312f0 http://cgi.ebay.co.u...=item4aa7e45834 http://cgi.ebay.co.u...=item4cf48e5752 http://cgi.ebay.co.u...=item2c5a2f1daf Manly boots with heels http://cgi.ebay.co.u...=item45f8222a51 Manly from front My preferrred style were the first pair, but maybe too high. All listed are either new, or claimed 'as new' in description. All fairly inexpensive too.
shyguy
Thanks Freddy, comments below... First browse produced these: http://cgi.ebay.co.u...=item2eb2b312f0 As much as I'd be happy with these, the extra 1/2 inch makes a big difference to Mrs Shyguy, I showed her a similar pair recently to be told no way. http://cgi.ebay.co.u...=item4aa7e45834 As above and far too noticeable but nice boots. http://cgi.ebay.co.u...=item4cf48e5752 Bidding on these but they are going above what I might pay for them http://cgi.ebay.co.u...=item2c5a2f1daf These keep coming up in my saved search, and Mrs Shyguy has already blocked them for walking the dog with (or without her) Manly boots with heels http://cgi.ebay.co.u...=item45f8222a51 Manly from front My preferrred style were the first pair, but maybe too high. All listed are either new, or claimed 'as new' in description. All fairly inexpensive too. Thanks for the list though, I'll keep looking. Also thanks HH4evr1, I keep checking Shoezone as that's where my others were from, but the ones they have at the moment are very thin at the soles (I don't expect much from cheap Shoezone shoes but a little more than they currently offer would be good). I know it seems I'm very picky but Mrs Shyguy has to be kept happy too.
FastFreddy2
Slim pickings today. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Foot-Cushion-Riga-Wedge-Ankle-Boots-SIZE-8-/270694345122?pt=Women_s_Shoes&hash=item3f06a3e9a2 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LADIES-BLACK-ANKLE-BOOTS-SIZES-6-8-NEW-140-/130476737569?pt=Women_s_Shoes&var=&hash=item641ed7cd36 Surprised about the 'manly boots with heels' as they would have passed anywhere I would have thought? FastFreddy2
I'm really liking >> these << Claimed as ever-so-slightly higher than required though I'm not convinced .... Wedge not block ..... But silent in use, and deceptive in look. [seem like Derriboots. ] Very very very passable! .....
shyguy
Wedge heels are fine too, and added these to my watch list. Thanks Freddy for posting them. As for the manly boots, I like the look of them but they are listed as 3" heels, so too much for the other half to accept. Update, seriously considering these Wedges any thoughts? FastFreddy2
Update, seriously considering these Wedges any thoughts? The boots are very wearable. [Cute even?] Would your other half accept the diamante decoration on the last pair? Good point. As you might expect, I'd prefer you in slightly higher heels ..... but I'm not your wife. And 'a note' from me wouldn't get you out of the doghouse either, if you made a poor purchasing decision. I've got in the back of my mind the notion I might have some long black suede wedge boots somewhere. Boxed and new, that I bought off Ebay but don't wear them for some reason. Sizing is usually the problem [too small and too big], but I think these just weren't high enough for me. [ie. Too easy to walk in.] I'll try to remember to have a dig around tomorrow am. Babysitting the builder again, so I'll be house bound. If they are of interest, they're yours for the price of the postage [to be paid to the Sally Army or Blind Charity.] If I find them, I'll do a picture and post it here. .... Bit high for your immediate needs at just over 3" [3 3/8" actually.] They are black suede not grey, I just over-exposed the image to get detail. Fairly roomy, and new/boxed. Rubber soles so easy to play Ninja games with dog and wife as your footsteps will be silent. Black suede almost invisible to anyone walking past as there's no reflected detail from them. Not in the dark anyway. ....
hh4evr1
A small word of warning. Don't forget to use suede protector on them. Too much rain can ruin them.
shyguy
I do like the looks of those boots Freddy and would like to try them, but they are too high and a little impractical for walking the dog in all weathers (as HH4evr points out rain will be a destroyer). I'm on a mission to get the right pair and continuing walk alongside my wife while wearing heels. Your efforts are not unappreciated, Freddy, thanks for all your responses. I am considering getting Mrs Shyguy sat at the computer looking at my Ebay watchlist and asking her to pick one of the pairs out as there are a few different styles there she should find one which she can tolerate. FastFreddy2
I have pair of these and because they are a wedge are not noticably womens from the side http://cgi.ebay.co.u...=item27b81e950e http://cgi.ebay.co.u...=item870ba03a52 http://cgi.ebay.co.u...=item5f76d6fe3e My shortlist of your shortlist. Paricularly like the Next wedges. "Noticed" them a couple of times in the past, but not succumbed..... Yet. .....
shyguy
Good move. Been three years I know about .... No signs of wearing her down yet? ..... From heels only in the bedroom, through the small wedges I wore a couple of years ago to being seen with her in 2 inch block heeled boots is a small step. I'm never going to wear stiletto's out (my choice even if she agreed) but may be able to up the block/wedge heel height as she gets used to it. Not so small maybe? Seems to me you're doing what many people who come here [either to contribute or more likely to read], are not doing .... And that's walking out in public with your SO/wife/girlfriend wearing heels. Well done you. .... Edited January 23, 2011 by FastFreddy2

FastFreddy2
I would still like to try these, if the offer stands. Be a pleasure. We can do a swop? No chance of you meeting up in London this coming Saturday pm? Looking like 3 or 4 of us will be there, and if you did come we'd then have at least one amongst us that wouldn't scare children away? :-( I don't think anyone is turning up in heels ..... So no red faces if anyone meets someone they know. Might be a bit different after dark though. ;-) Otherwise, I might be over your way around 4pm this Wednesday - if the weather holds. .....
