  1. I had often wondered why posts appeared at all times of day and night!

Shyguy I really know what you mean about waking the Mrs up early, but mine always claims that I have disturbed her, even when I can hear the snores from downstairs!

Well this is the 24th year of shiftwork for me, My 1st job at 18 was 9-5 in central London, but ever since I have been a shift worker so that makes lie ins on lates or days off much needed.

Freddy, we may have to rename you Count as you keep Dracula hours!

  2. I didn't realise you had undertaken that big a project, at least you and Mrs Freddy will have the house you want when it's all finished!

You should put up a thread on the construction status.

I take my hat off to you, you've undertaken a massive project, plus work, plus visits and trips, I'm guessing there is not much sleep in the FastFreddy schedule! Just a question, do you ever do diy in any sort of heel? I only ask because I did a lot of my decorating in a pair of new look ballet flats! Don't ask me why but I did!

  3. Oooops..... Went out to get a McDonald's just now and thought I would wear my heeled boots as I hadn't been planning any heeling today.

Surprisingly not very busy, so I parked up and walked in, got served and as I was about to sit down, the girl serving says "Nice boots, are those mens or womens" "Oh theyre from Evans, because they do my size" I reply, "Oh well they look ok, your brave" "Thanks"

It was then I realised I was wearing my straight leg jeans, (Yesterdays stiletto pic) which cover most of the heel, but still clearly show that I am wearing heels!

My foods on a tray, so I can't see an easy way to retreat, so I sit down and eat my meal, with lots of glances from the girl who served me and one or two of the other servers.

I didn't hang around long but it was an interesting if slight scary experience....

  4. Well i thought that I had, in my empty suitcase out of reach on top of the wardrobe! But prying little eyes went snooping a found them!

The only place she cannot get to is the loft! And its a bit of a hassle getting them up and down, but luckily I have managed to stash some at Mum's for when I am down here!

Are you ever planning to actually finish your house? I am surprised you've been allowed to escape at all with so much diy left to do......

I am not a fan of diy myself, but if I have to do some work I have to crack on and get it done, because I can't let it not be finished! If on doing a project its not unknown for me to still be trying to work at 11pm

  5. Now I see,

The reason I have reduced my collection if heels is so that I only have pairs that I can actually walk in. I also dont see the point in having pairs hidden away, that are not going to get worn because I either cant walk well in them or can't wear them for any length of time.

Also the fact that they have to remain out of someone's sight may have something to do with it!

  6. I think that I would probably only wear heels like this to a fancy dress party or event, that I knew was not going to go on for longer than I could wear the heels.

If Mrs Heelman was not now so averse to me in heels, they might be fun at home but thats not going to happen!

  7. Tried sleeping in something very very similar.

The (flawed) thinking behind the idea, was that it would give me 6 hours of 'easy' muscle/ligament training in wearing a higher heel .......

Of around 3 times I tried, I think the best I managed was about 2 hours before cramp woke me. And I don't mean tingle, or itch grade cramp either. I mean full blown I'm-gonna-break-your-toes-off cramp. :o/> Oh yes ......

I think that plan was definitely flawed..... Going to bed in heels! How did you come up with the idea for that??

I bet it hurt like hell!

  8. Patent shoes don't stretch much. I had some really nice patent shoes, but gave them to my sister as they were too tight. I went and tried the bigger size but they were too big.

Yep I have the distinct feeling that there is not going to be a massive amount of give in them, They are just the right size, just a tad tight on the toes.

  9. Looks like I sold the Renzi boots I'd acquired that were too large for me. On balance, an Italian 42 is a very large EU42 verging on an actual EU43 ..... ?

    As a reminder ...... post-40-0-40939500-1363648895_thumb.jpg

Lost a little bit of money, but not as much as I might have if I had worn them and then tried to sell them on. Sadly, even with socks (yeuk) they were too big for me. Not that I could walk in them, as they had a 6 inch heel, that felt like a 6 inch heel!

"The heel is too high" said I.

"I didn't think that was possible?" replied Mrs Freddy.

As I reminded her, if I can't wear them out, they have to go. And I definitely can't walk at all convincingly is a 6 inch heel.....

Sold some other bits though, including a pair of jeans I'd been trying to sell for some time. Practically gave them away, though not quite. ;)/>

Things are getting hard here in UK PLC. And are expected to get much, much, harder. :(/>

Still, costing me nothing if I don't sell ...... :)/>

    ...

Verging on an EU43 would almost be in my realm.... Though looking at that 6 inch heel... They would also fall into my cant walk convincingly in them category!

  10. You don't need to make it up, it's Britain.......they should have a sign at Heathrow, welcome to London; where the streets are paved with gold!

It really annoys me that soft targets eg Motorists are picked on as an easy revenue source, yet genuine crime gets an easy ride.

A friend of mine got called into the Magistrates court on a trivial matter, the preceeding case was a lad who had battered an old lady for the £20 in her handbag and got an extra £1 a week on his fine! But he had to tell the clerk if it would leave him short and they would have to accept delayed payment! My mate got an unconditional discharge because the police could not prove his alleged traffic violation..... What can you say!

  11. I have had the same problem with a pair of wedge ankle boots in surprise surprise New Look!

I had a real problem getting them off! So I just put them back on the shelf and nonchalently walked to the next aisle!

Luckily no one noticed! It unfortunately is the quality of the manufacture

  12. Yep, those should get you noticed, but they do look great. Brave move to be wearing them out, much braver than I would be.

I shall wear them out, but it's got to be a real careful choice of venue... I shall obviously let you all know how it goes.

To be perfectly honest these were bought really as keep at home heels and will probably see very limited public use!

  13. Difficult question..... So I am going to fudge my answer somewhat,

In terms of what I like to wear for public heeling, then my Evans black blockheel boots are my absolute favoutite...... They have hardly been off my feet since I got them! They are very quiet and discreet and also being from Evans are EEE width.

In terms of truly absolutely adorable heels, then I am a stiletto man all the way and todays purchase are my new favourite....

    Wearable- Yes.

Comfortable- pretty much (Still need wearing in)

    Discreet- Hell no

    Look good- Oh Yes

Would I wear these in public- I definitely will do

Sorry it's not a straightforward answer but hope this helps.
