  1. I usually find that shoes come up smaller than their advertised size, though this varies between brands quite a lot.

I did have a pair of uk size 10 5 inch heeled, platform peeptoes from a brand called Black Gardenia (Bought online through Barratts)

They came up really large, especially in the peep toe and whilst nice to look at on were a complete nightmare to walk in.

  2. Mrs H always watches Big Brother, so when the new series started Friday night we were stuck watching it.

Apart from the fact that all the female contestants were in heels, they have decorated the bedroom with niches full of really nice high heels!

As Emma (Always in a nice pair of heels) Willis said..... Theyll be alright as long as they are a size 4/5 because thats what all these heels are. At which Mrs H became interested because she is a size 4

  3. The only problem with Next is that they do not seem to carry a lot of size 9 stock, so you have to order them in. I have never had a problem with Next staff though, they are always willing to help. I usually go to the large one at Manchester Arndale.... Got a lipsy attached (Right up Fastfreddys street!!) and even they dont have much in a 9.

I may just keep browsing the various Debenhams sales for sign of nine wests becoming available.

  4. I havent been doing much heeling in the latter half of last year (personal reasons) though in a much better mood now so back in the saddle so to speak. Also why I have been absent from the site.

I decided to have a browse in Preston, expecting Evans to have a fairly decent pair of ankle boots in their sale, alas it seems that there are a lot of larger footed ladies in Preston or men buying heels!

I had a wander up to Clarks and found some nice 4 inch courts that I liked, not in the sale but never mind, I asked for a 9 but they were only in stock in an awful Teal blue colour.

The really helpful sales girl spent plenty of time with me and I have a pair ordered into store for me to try and buy if they fit when they arrive.

The shop was really busy, but the young girl serving me didnt seem at all phased about me buying heels! She was most helpful in steering me away from another pair that had limited lining (Also not in stock) but would be most uncomfortable for prolonged wear.

So I should have another trip to Clarks within the next week to hopefullypick up these heels -pics attached.

I had seen a pair of 3 inch black widefit shoeboots in the Primark, and had just enough time to get back and have a look, yes they did have my size and result they did fit (photo to follow)

Heard a bit of sniggering from a male member of staff, but the evil eye did the trick and he was soon stacking shelves again! Another young girl on the till (no queue today) who was most intrigued and was smiling as she served me.....

A pleasant return to heeling, just need somewhere to wear my heels to!

  5. Good for you Freddy!

Cheeky so an so and best of all he was the store manager, which basically means for complaint got filed in department B1n!! Though he would have had to explain to his area boss the reasons!

And euchrid I would have tried those shoes on hometown or not, just to see his face, I have recently noticed a downturn in the level of discretion shown when browsing for heels.

Hopefully stores will realise that if they don't want to follow Barratts and others into closure they need to up their game significantly. I would imagine there is a sizeable portion of the market (Sizes 8+ ) being purchased by men now, indeed why are we seeing Primark selling size 9 wide fit if there wasn't a market to sell them in.

  6. I usually sit on the end of a row, so that I can stretch my legs out when needed (Plus being able to easily pop to the loo when required) so my choice of footwear might be on display, plus the entire foyer and kiosk area in our local Apollo has a tiled floor, so definitely going to make things obvious.

I know what you mean about the kicking out time, however as the local cinema is on a retail park the local yooth congregate there in their cars, having nothing better to do with themselves! And we can predict how the local yooth will react to a guy in heels!

  7. I think that these really chunky shoes could definitely pass as Men's heels, saw them today in Mcdonalds on the feet of a rather attractive chinese girl!

Pic quality isnt great, but they are a really heavyduty pair of shoes, theywent really well with the rest of her outfit.

Also spotted today a man in ill fitting womens leggings, black satin ballet pumps, ladies black jacket with a large floral wheelie bag and a handbag over his arm! In the company of two (Not very attractive) women.

Whilst I applaud him for wearing what he wants, the whole look was pretty poor! 10/10 for daring 2/10 for overall look!
