  1. quick bit about me,my love of heels started many years ago when i used to wear my mums boots. as i got older i stared to by my own.

    Sounds like a familiar story ... ;-)

my first outing was in my early teens and as nothing bad happend i pretty much started to wear boots where and when i want.

If I were to be jealous of anyone over anything, it would be that. :-D I'm very envious of you .... in a friendly 'wish I were you way' ....

  2. Last year I told my mother, and her only remark (which she repeats from time to time) is; "Why don't you wear them all the time?" :D My father will never find out though, if I have anything to do with it. That said, he's unknowingly seen me wearing them a number of times....

Sounds like you want to tell your famiy for a reason? Are you planning to start wearing them full-time?

Without lots of further background information, the best advice many of us could give, is to propose making a list of benefits vs drawbacks.

One drawback, has got to be 'disappointing' your parents, against their expectations. It's why I don't plan to tell my father.

I look forward to reading further responses, and news on any progress.

  3. If there's a problem here at all, it's that (as mentioned before) it sits in the shadow of HHplace.

You are right about posting. In the short time I've been active here (4-6 weeks perhaps) membership has almost doubled. Posts haven't kept up. In fact many posters here are regulars at HHp too, and I'm glad to hear from them.

With over 50 new -recent- members, it would be pleasant to see perhaps half of that member starting to contribute?

The "Welcome" area is a great starting place. For my part I never stop being curious to how people get interested in wearing heels, nor hearing about their experiences, no matter how limited that might be.

The type of footwear people are interested in, is also worth hearing about.

For me heels have quite a visual appeal, so seeing pictures of shoes or boots worn by members would be great contribution too.

So there's 3 or 4 things anyone and everyone could contribute with? If you are a 'newbie' and haven't posted yet, perhaps you might like to tell the rest of us about some of these things. Possibly you feel your story might be a bit dull? I've yet to see one myself. First hand accounts are always of interest, as are any 'nearly caught' stories.

Some people who have become members might also be a little unsure as to why they are interested in heels, and maybe are a little embarressed about their interest? Why not enjoy the anoniminity of the Forum, and discuss your doubts and fears with like-minded people?

I heard a great story last year at one of the HHp meets. A chap who had been a secret wearer of heels had become miserable with it over the years, thinking his was a completely unnatural desire. Apparently he wept with relief, when he found (thanks to the Internet) that his desire was far from unnatural, and in fact was shared by many other men. :D

I have to admit that until 15 months ago, I too thought the only other men interested in wearing heels were transvestites, and drag queens. Thankfully, I now know better.

So new members, please feel free to contribute. We ALL really do want to hear from you.

  4. Gentlemen,

You are standing outside the virtual shoe shop window and you see the exact pair of shoes you would purchase and wear today.

I think I would need a few goes at this, but since I can't ......

I like the look of a pointed toe, but find an almond shape the more comfortable. So providing it was designed to fit me, a pointed toe boot.

Black leather, with leather stacked heel, in fact not unlike the Harley Davidson boot I already own, but with the leather heel closer to 5" in height. Possibly 4.75", walkable, but a slow walk .... The heel might be slightly angled forward to help with my walk, and not unlike the Western Ranch style. If I'm in a hurry, I would wear flats after all.

Unlike the HD boot, the top of the boot would only come just above the ankle and be fairly tight, providing ankle support.

No platform of any kind, but to come with a well padded footwell. These would be shoes I'd like to be wearing ALL day of course. :D

    .....

  5. Their website is http://www.westernranchboots.net/. I am not sure wether or not they are still in business, but there is contact information on the site. .

Still in business, and "I will ship to anywhere in the world". Chap sounded a bit Greek? [Which might not be news to anyone but me.] I mention this because the two chaps who used to run The Little Shoe Box in London, came from (roughly) the same part of the world as Mr Western Shoes might have?

Didn't have the gumption to enquire about prices..... It won't be the sort of money I'm used to paying, that's for sure. :D

    Better start saving .....

  6. The boots which FastFreddy linked to on Ebay and I bought...

With those trousers, the heel looks practically invisible.

How do you find them to walk in, starting to get easier? I've not ventured anywhere in mine yet, as asphalt will wreck the heeltip in no time at all (though I now have spares) and paving slabs have heel scuffing edges .....

So I'm looking for a restaurant/bar/theatre/cinema/mall that I would be comfortable at, wearing stilletoes. Oxford Street is an obvious one, but the paving there doesn't lend itself to thin heeled shoes or boots.

I've some equally high [4 1/2"] thin-block heeled boots I wear in the West End that are wide enough to keep out of the cracks, but the ones you have look much more .... "expensive"? Even though they may not have been. :D

  7. I think I'm getting to the point of not really caring about other peoples reactions, only those of my family as they are what's important. The friend of my daughters probably has her own issues to be spending her thoughts on, and wouldn't have dwelled on my choice of footwear too long.

Also my girls have seen some of my heels, and my wife has said they were hers but she no longer wears them or that they were an ebay purchase gone wrong and too cheap to bother re-selling. The turnabout was when she borrowed a pair of my boots for a night out and the girls asked what SHE was doing in heels as she normally only wears flats.

    :D

Recent Ebay purchase by any chance?

I entirely agree, the only important opinions/feelings, are those of your immediate family.

As before, good luck with the journey.

  8. As member of High Heel Place, I learned of this website which seems to be a forum specifically for men and their love for high heels. I recognize many familiar names, but for those of you who don't recognize or know of my postings in High Heel Place, I have worn high heels for many, many years. I wear high heels in public every day. I always wear 4" to 6" high heels on a regular basis.I really love wearing high heels and especially in public. I enjoy ALL of the reactions I receive. I hope to post on a regular basis.

Ooooh. I think many here will know you sir! ;-)

I wish I had your nerve Roni ...I'd love to wear heels in public more often but I usually get cold feet ...My girlfriend thinks its ok and even fun but I'm still a chicken

I've said this many times; Often, the thing stopping us doing what we'd like to do, is us. ;-)

You've a head start over many anyway, in that you've a supportive GF.

    Go enjoy. :D

  9. ...... My eldest daughter giggles a bit more, asks me why I'm wearing mums shoes again, I just said that they were comfortable and quick to slip on.

That was the end of the conversation. All went as normal then, no more was said about dad wearing mums shoes.

I'm guessing that would be the reaction of most people to a guy in womens shoes / heels, takes them by surprise and they react, as long as it isn't made into an issue it's soon forgotten. What do you all think?

I think you are being optimistic. :-D

I agree you did all the right stuff, and successfully averted what could have been a catastrophe. If you are going to get 'made', it doesn't want to be by a close family friend who might broadcast your interest should she ever stop being friends with your daughter? :o

If ever your eldest announces she wants to be a detective though, please don't stop her. She plainly has an aptitude for it. :-D

And just to worry you a bit further ..... When a teenager and sometimes finding myself with access to the inner sanctum that was my parents bedroom, I would go over the room with a fine toothcomb, not searching for anything, just being 'child' gauge nosey. It was how I started wearing heels IIRC. I found some of my mums shoes, and tried them on. Which got me to where I am now .....

I think by the time you get 'proper' caught (red-handed caught), your girls will have suspected for some time, and probably, won't be bothered. As long as you're not caught by one of their friends too, because then they might have to excommunicate you publically, to save face....

    Safe journey.

  10. she asked me if I wore mens things

I'm sorry that I'm going to appear a little stupid (which isn't that unusual), and I hope I don't offend, but I don't understand this comment?

If your wife had only ever seen you wearing heels, this comment would make sense. Is that the case?

Without further background to the original remark, asking a man if he wears mens clothes/attire, ought to be obvious by just looking at him? [i accept that I have a rather simple view of the question, but I haven't fully grasped the context yet, hence my needing help. ]

All that aside .... I'd say your wife seems to have completely accepted the 'alternate' you, (or the real you as the rest of us here would understand it?)

I'd say you were a lucky man to have found such a partner. I've had contact with a number of other men heel wearers, who are not as fortunate. Like you I'm inside a relationship where my (few) pleasures in life are understood, but are not shared with the rest of the family. I'm happy with the compromise though. I pretty much get what I want, without the complication of criticism or negative response from anyone I can't choose to ignore.....

  11. Nice! huh?

    Yepppp!

Given the style range, and prices, you fellas in America are spoilt for choice. :-D

Probably just as well I have restricted access. The costs of International Shipping hasn't stopped me acquiring perhaps 10 pairs of boots only (usually) offered to the domestic market in the US. The exchange rate changes due to the UK

  12. What I find strange is that in the early 70's (that would be pre-disco) we could wear boots with stacked heels with no problem. Go to any concert during that era and all the rock stars wore them. Just watch the DVD of "Woodstock" and you will see what I mean. I had boots with 2" heels and a pair with 3" and a small platform. Today boots that are very similar to those are sold as women's footwear.

The 60's were a time of youth testing their new freedoms, borne of financial and moral independance. By the time the 70's had arrived, free thinking and free 'doing' was almost taken for granted. There had never been a time like it (for the general populace) nor will there be such a time again.

Given the French President wearing slightly thicker heels made front page news around the world not long ago, I'd suggest the pendulum is still swinging the wrong way.

  13. Welcome.

It's quite rewarding to see the membership here has now topped 100, and a reasonable percentage of that number are recent joiners. Possibly the site has turned a corner. Or maybe seen one to turn at leastways. :-D

  14. If you see me most days Mr Fred, you should let me know of your whereabouts, be good to meet a like minded soul.

I was of course, referring to White Van Man. :o

But I do get into London some Thursday/Friday evenings to enjoy the lack of congestion charge and late night shopping/browsing. I also visit some Sundays, too, for the same reason.

Today would have seen me at Wood Green for Aldo Outlet (for a boot I saw there 6 weeks ago) and Select (for
