  1. Hello there.

How's things? Been getting out much? :-)

I have to admit, I've been getting a bit slack lately..... :-(

Was given the opportunity to go out shopping with heels on last Friday, by herself. [Yep, she suggested it as a way to 'lighten' my mood.] Sadly, impending serious trouble with Companies House (all my own doing ~ or not doing I should say) is getting the better of me. ;)

Just sent a PM by the way.

  2. Really do feel the height with these and is mycomfortable limit on heel height. Just another 0.7mm and I can't cope for long. Shame they were not made the next size up.

The bigshoeboutique website links Barratts and Priceless larger offerings together (as they are part of the Stylo group).

Always worth checking the site regularly as their stock is constantly changing. I hope the administrators do keep this lot going as it is a wonderful source of shoes that not only fit, but are not the fetish offerings usually served up.

    Simon.

I've noticed the hieght thing too. Good, innit? ;) Think shyguy got to enjoy a similar experience with some boots he bought off Ebay a short while ago. (From Garage Shoes originally, though these would have been nearly

  3. Item now listed again. (NOT re-listed using old advert).

Rather oddly, I got a system remark; "Thanks for putting up your first **** listing." Odd, because I thought it was my second?

Internet selling company Technical Support was worthless. 3 emails sent, one directly to the guy in charge of Searches. And the final outcome? "Sorry it took so long, but as the listing is now closed, we can't help."

Anyway, the new ad can be found with a regular search. :-) So whatever I did wrong first time around, I didn't make the same mistake(s) again.

1 pair listed, only about 20 to go .... :-(

    ....

  4. It does. and the counter starts at 1 when you preview your advert!

Great! :-) So the only person who saw the listing, would have been me!

Gonna be re-listing them sometime later today. I'll try putting less information in the "index" fields......

Initial response from the discussion forum .... Put anything pertinent in the title. The other fields (size, colour, shoe type) are unreliable at best. :-(

  5. I've not noticed a price difference between Internet and shop prices with Priceless. I have noticed the shop labelling is behind the Internet pricing, right up until you get to the till .... ;) :-)

I'll try to visit one of the shops this week. I get as much time as I like to browse..... Herself is a bit 'precious' about shoe shops. Historically, if the shop didn't sell Faith, Carvela, or KG, then she wouldn't even try them on. It's only been about 3 months since I managed to get her to try some Aldo shoes for fit. I didn't do too badly, as she left with 2 pairs. ;) [Well, two pairs for her..... And one pair for me! :)]

If I remember >> mine have a 4 1/2" heel << hers both with 4" heels. :-( There's a lot to be said for the Camden Outlet store. ;)

  6. Do NOT use those pictures here again on our website.

I did wonder about those .....

And I'm not trying to defend the breach or offer an excuse (the original deletion should have been understood after all), but for some reason PM's aren't advised by either pop-up (or email IIRC)?

I sent a PM to a fellow member here, and it was missed for almost a month. His reply to me was missed for a couple of days for the same reason?

Just a word to the wise .... (Guv'nor)

  7. Can't help but wonder if Priceless and Payless are related in some way. The Priceless web-site has some similarities with the way the Payless site looked a couple of updates back.

    Well spotted that man!

Here in the UK we have a well known company called Payless DIY >> homepage << who had a trading history that would have taken precident over the US company with the same name if they tried to set up a business here. Barratts did or does own Priceless here. Not sure how that all works out regarding Payless in the US??

Priceless recently went into Administration, and many of the shops in the chain closed. Fortunately for me, there's a branch not too far away I have access to. In fact, it was a pair of their boots that got me back into wearing heels Jan 2008. I put them on, and practically kept them on for 2 weeks solid. I'd worn them out in another couple of weeks ..... Fortunately I'd had the foresight to get another pair during that period, which set the routine for my subsequent buying style. I have very few 'singles', and at least one style I've 5 identical pairs.

Fortunately, I've made a point of NOT counting the cost of my shoe habit. :( Must be well over

  8. I didn't share my interest, only with you guys, who make me feel better.

Your English is very good, you are easily understood.

I for one am pleased you feel better coming here to chat to the rest of us. This is a great site for discussing problems, and sharing everyday issues with liking heels.

If you struggle to describe the shoes you like, perhaps you can link some photo's instead?

  9. Not everyone likes cheap/inexpensive shoes, but I find them very rewarding. My feet seem to fit into just about every style (a notable exception being Louboutins -thankfully), so I have success with most shoes and boots I like.

Recently I bought a couple of pairs of black PU stilletoe courts from Select that I think look wonderful.

  10. Women really do know how to play us don't they? lol.

    Yes.

I did try again to get a further comment, but it only went as far as; "I was pleased you (me) could see what it would take to make me happier."

Were I cynical ..... :( ...... I might choose to translate that as "I'm glad you finally realise what your role is, in my world." But she's a great person with a good word to say about everyone - just about, so I've no need to be cynical. I do get the impression I feel like I've found something new and interesting, and herself thinks I should have understood The Rules from the first day I could speak. :(

  11. The story so far .....

I've re-written my query and included some further detail. Like, for example ..... What criteria will find the shoes, and what additional criteria will exclude them.

Including the colour 'black' in a search, excludes them .... 'Stilletoe' excludes them too.

Mindful they are black stilletoes, sorta makes a targeted search pointless. Or put another way, they're effectively hidden.

Response late today; "It's being passed to our Technical Team". I think the listing has 3 days to run. Wonder if I'll have an answer before I have to pay again to have them relisted?

  12. Hmmm.

Not having much luck with Plan A.

As reported I'd put some shoes back on that well known Internet auction place. Listing took a little massaging because when doing a search on the fields I'd completed; Like Size 7, Black, Heels, etc etc. The listing didn't appear.

"Okay" thought I, I'll make everything as standard as possible, and replicate the data fields of other products that did come up on my search. An example would be size, I'd put "UK 7 - EU41" which is non-standard given the options originally offered. So I put the size to "UK 7" which was one of the listed options.

First 12 hours, and now 24 hours later, despite plenty of time given for the 'indexing' to sort itself out, a Size 7 search doesn't find my shoes. Nor in fact does a search that includes "Black". So two days into my seven, anyone actually searching for a shoe like the one I've got on offer, won't find it if they specify the correct colour. And that's something I do EVERY time I do a search, to keep my results as pertinent to my buying choice as I can.

I've just sent off a second 'help' message to the Auction Support Team. Hopefully they'll actually read what I write this time...... Their initial response to it can't be found in a search was; "it's there." Well I know it's there, I can see it. But can anyone else? - is the issue. And if they are searching for Black + Heels, the answer is "no they can't".

Frustrating? You bet. No wonder it took me a year to start this.....

  13. Well, I got herself to read the last two posts.

There was a re-assuring sigh, and a finger moved in a circular motion indicating the paragraph below.

There is no such thing as a nagging wife, rather a husband that does not do as he is asked. That might seem as if I am under the thumb, but it works for me and I also believe in taking away reason for complaints, then, when I want something, I just get it, it does not stir up any other nagging arguments or issues.

And I heard the words: "You can try that any time you like."

Mindful this girls waaay smarter than me, I have to say I was expecting something a little more ..... intellectual? :(

    ....

  14. A very interesting and thoughtful post, if I may say.

So much so, I think I'm going to make a point of getting Mrs Freddy to read it, to see if I can't get a womans response? Certainly there's a concept there I've half seen, but now perhaps fully recognise.

She may not want me in heels all the time, but would wonder what the hell was wrong with me if I stopped watching them on ebay or buying them for her. I was pleasantly surprised the other week when I said I was going to wear some heels, when she said, good, thats what they are for! as if they were a waste of time just being in the wardrobe.

My mother encourages me no end with this. She regularly asks if I've been out in them, and when I respond "yes", it's always "Good for you." If fact she doesn't understand why I don't wear them all the time. At 80 years old, she's a little past caring what the rest of the world thinks .... :(

My wife knows a day out from our home town will get me in heels, so she quite often suggests a visit to a shopping mall (which she wants) will have the suggestion "and you could wear heels" ... (something I want) tacked on the end of the comment. No flies on this one. :o

She prefers me to wear - and this seems odd writing it - more masculine styles. Put another way, anything that doesn't have a stilletoe. I now have a number of what might pass for cowboy boots, and more recently I've been wearing these. Two pairs are easy to get on and off so they are suitable for quickly removing to try on other (heeled) shoes if we are out.

One Sunday afternoon last summer, we were parked just off Oxford Street on our way to the West End stores. I was undecided whether to wear 'safe' block heels or some slightly more attractive blade heels. [For me, 'attractive' could mean slimmer heel, higher heel, or more difficult to walk in heel. These blade heels had 2 out of three possible strikes.] Some of my reservation was the slimmer heel being a more obvious 'tell' to what I had on my feet.

To most it might at best seem like backhanded encouragement, her comment to me went something like; "If you can wear them anywhere, you can wear them here. People will be too busy to notice you." After hearing her comment, I wore the more attractive blades .....

In my relationship, I think there is now some resignation - by us both - to the fact I've not only into heels for my partner, but for myself also. I may have believed my heel wearing days were over, but plainly they weren't. And it now looks like this time they're here to stay. Well as long as my bones and muscles can cope. It would be wrong to say my partner enjoys me wearing heels, but she seems to enjoy the person I become when wearing them. Probably a coincidence since I wear them during non-work periods when we can relax a bit, but I'm not unhappy with the association. :(

  15. Finally, after more than a year 'preparing' myself, I've gotten around to advertising something for sale on the Internet. As it happens, a pair of shoes I don't want, that rather oddly are my most recent purchase. :( [i often work backwards...]

I've found buying on the Internet to be a bit of a mixed experience. Provided I'm getting a 'fixed feature' product, or a branded product I've seen before, it's a bit of a lottery. Sure - we win many more than we lose, or the idea wouldn't have worked .... But the duff 'uns really do cause heartache, for me at least.

After some initial success with ASOS, and some PU ankle boots (as worn to the HHp 2008 World Meet), everything else from them has gone back, at some expense. Frustrating because the return address is only 10 miles from my front door :o and they only take postal returns.

Buying shoes is becoming less of a nightmare, as I'm starting to find out what brands fit, and what brands over or under size. Consistently worst is Schuh, who think their 8 should match everyone elses 7. :( Twice now, their products have gone back or been resold for the sizing problem.

Anyway, I've gotten some experience now, at putting something up for sale. Hopefully, all the other pairs (about 6 of mine, and perhaps 10 of hers) will be up for sale soon.

More space for the next batch!

  16. Street (photo) shots of heels, can be a bit of an emotive subject, so I'll try to post about this with some sensitivity.....

In my 'defence' - though I don't personally think I need one - I don't usually keep these photo's as the quality is often questionable. I don't reproduce them with recognisable faces shown either. And lastly, I'll happily photograph any situation, not just heels, so I don't consider it "perving".

    To the post .....

Last year I got so fed up with trying to take street photo's with my phone, I treated myself to a [

  17. Google's spiders are picking up on this thread.

I don't think hit rate has anything to do with it although word count might -- as certain keywords are mentioned more often on a site, Google will increase the score for ads pertaining to those keywords.

That rings true. The recent attacks from spammers listed long lines of keywords.

  18. Im just a 24 y/o masculine guy who like to wear high heels and stockings, and nobody knows that...

Firstly, welcome to the site.

I'd say you've found a good place to talk about your interest. Many here (if not all) are masculine fellas who like wearing high heels. :(

Some too will use hose from time to time, like myself. :(

    Care to tell us more?

Not shared your interest with a girl-friend perhaps?

What styles of shoes do you like?

Where do you wear them, when you do wear them?

We would all be interested to share/swap stories with you.

  19. Well that's weird ....

Usually the ads that Google offers on the site are shoe based. Net-a-Porter, and Heelzsohigh being two memorable (and obvious) advertisers.

One motorcycle thread, and we now have 4 motorcycle training ads greet us instead? If 'hits' dictate the advert stream, this thread must be getting a LOT of attention.

How clever are these content robots?

OOPs, spoke too soon. Back to Barratts ....
