  1. Very very hard. I have plenty, many I'd like to move on. (Sell.) Doesn't stop me looking, nor being tempted >> clicky << If link doesn't work ....... £95 in sale!!
  2. I can't ever remember not having a thing for the flip flap sound of a mule slapping up against the bottom of a heel. My mother used to have some sensible height white wedge mules she used to wear in summer. I also remember a beige pair too, but I remember the white ones mostly, though I must be writing about a memory nearly 50 years old. At the time, I must have been younger than 8, because we moved to a different house soon after. Not sure how I was left alone (people not so afraid to leave their children alone for 20 minutes then) but I got the chance to try the mules. I liked wearing them. Several years later, I got the regular opportunity to try them again. Like hh4evr1 I too would stack two wedge heels together, one on top of another, to produce some height. Although I was quite young, I enjoyed wearing them more than should have been possible. In fact it was such a comfortable feeling, I wondered if I should have been born a girl? When I started "dating" girls ('going out' with girls) and having a proper girlfriend, I realised I definitely had the right body.
  3. "Should have gone to Specsavers"? I have fairly conservative tastes. Not keen on stripes, checks or multiple blocks of colour. Enjoy most colours, though not keen on green shoes, though I've tops in almost every shade of green .....
  4. Not only do I like these ..... Not only did Rose Byrne like these ..... But so does one of my hero(ines) Victoria Beckham. Original article >> here <<
  5. Saw these mentioned in an on-line newspaper article. (Link below) Fantasy + heel-less shoes = hooves? You Tube video demo >> << Not office safe! Original link to article >> clicky 2 << These look to be a 'fantasy fashion' accessory that fits right in with current heel-less styles. As the report rightly indicates a disclaimer is included with every (custom) purchase. A great look, but not for me.
  6. I think I've possibly once experienced a bit of obvious reluctance, but nothing like this. I would have assumed the sales girl was maybe 15 years old, but "sales lady" doesn't sound like a junior person at all. Maybe she didn't get out much? I've mentioned only a couple of months ago, a young twenty-something (20/21/22) year old girl assistant, had offered me a pair of high heeled shoes to try on while I was in a busy high street shop. They were labelled UK9 (though same fit every other brands UK8) so there was no doubt who they were for, and she did actually say; "do you want to try them first?" With one shoe in her out-stretched hand, offered at me to take.... Obviously I don't look as 'manly' as I think I do. With a single (recent) exception, I haven't 'dressed up' since about 1989. No need, as I had a busy life (career) that kept my shoulder hard to the millstone. Now, I probably still don't have a need, as I pretty much wear heels whenever an opportunity presents itself. The exception was about 5 months ago, when I met up with someone into REALLY high heels, who said they would be "dressed" when we met at their home. Think I wore a foundation, jersey dress, and a wig I'd owned since around 1985. Plus a pair of knee boots with 5" heels. Was okay, but didn't produce the excitement it once did. As before, it's a means to an end. I'm only tempted to 'dress up' so I can wear some of the more feminine shoe styles I have in the collection, which include some black patent courts with pencil thin heels. I have in mind to wear these somewhere regardless, but it's finding suitable venues. .....
  7. My back was well enough to attempt more hole drilling this evening. Only got another 4 holes done, as picture frame assembly and picture installation was also required. Plus, 2 of the pictures were deemed (by me) to be unsuitable for their planned position, and the last picture still hasn't been found. So 3 holes postponed pending confirmation of revised positions, and locating picture No.7. On the mechanical side ...... Two of the holes were in one side of double skin wall(s). To those outside the UK, most houses built from at least 1955 to maybe 1970 and sometimes later, had two "skins" (layers) of 4" wide brick with a (roughly) 1 to 2 inch air gap between. This was to improve the internal temperature on warm or cold days. [More recently the inner skin is either thermal resistant block, or thermal cladding inside a wooden frame, all covered by 'drywall'.] Due to the energy available from this rotary hammer drill, I drilled completely through two of these inner brick skins. Usually doing this involves time and effort even with a fully charged 18v cordless hammer drill. Took me less than 4 seconds per hole with the SDS drill. Fortunately, the holes were round. [My experience with the 18v cordless and cheap masonry drill bits, typically produces oval or triangular holes.] The holes I made this evening, plugged with the correct size bit of plastic [ie rawlplug] and using a suitable sized screw, had the plug open up and the screw bit in without any rotational movement of the plug at all. Historically, I'd sometimes had to glue the rawlplug in to stop it rotating, or used a better (designed/more expensive) plastic plug. I really am enjoying this tool.
  8. No, so I just had a quick look: And for those who can't see it on ITV Player, she did run across the studio in those heels, then up some stairs ..... And she's 72 years old. I can only dream to do the same at her age!
  9. When I mentioned these originally, they were already out of stock my size; EU41. Unbelievably, while browsing in a Mango at Bluewater, I found a pair - reduced in the sale! Originally priced at £89-99 they were marked down to £59-99. I had a quick try of one in the store, standing, as there were no seats except in the girls changing rooms ..... And while the shoe wasn't a great fit, it was worth a try - I thought. At the till, they went through at £39-99, so even better. Lovely looking shoe ........ Fit wasn't great on the right foot, care of my slightly long middle toe, but the overall feel of them was good. But ....... The left heel had a slightly imperfect finish at the tip: Which could be remedied when they got re-tipped of course..... But the stopper, was the problem with the rear zips. The right one wouldn't do up very easily, but it would do up. The left zip would do up when the shoe was off (and do up easily), but not so with a foot in it? This was a similar problem I had with the Zara boots. (Above). The rear zips just didn't function as well as side zips. Worse, it looks like the reason might be a size 9 had been forced into a small size 8. Nasty looking bulge? It was a nice surprise to find them, but they had to go back. I like a bargain, but equally I like my footwear to at least start off perfect. These were far from that. ......
  10. Just to put a line under this one ..... I ordered and tried the UK 7 in the tall boot. [Got some more stock in, or one was returned?] The calf looks slim on the picture, but 'in the flesh' is too loose for my skinny leg. Fit on the foot was weird too. Felt like different sized boots? Maybe why the'd been returned? Anyway, not keepers. They do still come up around a size large, so an 8 might fit you size 9's out there?
  11. Couple of the judges (including the world class ballerina Darcey Bussell in heels) and the original Strictly It Takes 2 presenter, Claudia Winkleman.
  12. Some from November .... Think she likes those shoes? (And the leather skirt).
  13. Months overdue, but the last of the October pictures .... Zoe with the "man-heels darling" Craig Revel Horwood. And from the Halloween show, one of the Pro dancers wearing 'kinky' metallic boots?
