  1. Following the recent trend to widen the chat in the Cafe, I wondered how many here ride motorcycles? I come from a family of motorcyclists but was a bit late getting on a big bike myself. I now ride a 1970's Kawasaki as long as it's not raining. Not ultra fast but a lot of fun still with plenty of torque. What do you ride?

  2. For those of you that are a little afraid , embarrassed, or just not confident enough to wear heels in public yet, This is what I have discovered through years of experience. #1, When wearing heels in public, just be you. Don't worry about what anyone else say's or thinks. Don't turn around to see if you are being noticed. Walk with 100% self esteem. Most people don't even notice and if you walk with confidence as if its your everyday lifestyle, most people won't even care and the ones that do, have their own low self esteem and issues anyway. #2 Its like everything else that people see for the 1st time WOW!, But the second and 3rd time the WOW goes away and it becomes "NORMAL" when they see it again. #3 Just something to think about. I own my own in house business with a few employees, Sewing and custom embroidery. The 1st thing I do when I hire a new girl is tell her why all the high heel paraphernalia , little posters, pics, shoe ornaments etc. is hanging around the shop. That's starts the discussion. So far I have had 100% good feedback and actually asked , why aren't I wearing my heels today. Customers don't even notice mush and they really don't care after all, That's not what they are here for. They love my work and could care less about what's on my feet. So to sum it all up, Most people do not care if you wear heels or not and the ones that have a problem with it, Remember, its their problem, not yours. Because if you can't be you, than who can you be? Hope this helps a little.

  3. I brought a pair of ankle boots recently. They have about a 2" cuban heel. I wore them to work afew times and only a few people noticed, mostly ladies. Some of them told me they liked them, while others noticed but said nothing. I also had a man say they were nice boots (first time I've had a man comment positively about my heels). After wearing them afew times I was on my way to work and two boys about 8 years old were in a garden and when I got near asked why I was weating ladies high heels ( they must havr heard me coming). As I was in a rush to get to work I didn't have time for a big discussion I just said they were cowboy boots. They looked at them more closely and one said he liked them and accepted them as cowboy boots.

  4. Just a couple of pics from when I got home, the shoes fit like a glove, and are indeed extremely comfortable, they go well under a pair of jeans and are not "Too" obvious. They cost a bit, but the old adage is true, you get what you pay for!! Now I just need a pair of ankle boots!

  5. Good to hear you're back on track. As for this below Maybe he needed a little reminder that he was in stacking shelves while you were there doing the buying which pays for him to be there stacking shelves. Well handled though :-)

  6. Well Freddy , as you say "He who dares wears heels" I made an entire weekend of heelwearing from my last trip down to London. As I have already regaled you with the tale, I had the Saturday afternoon shopping in High Wycombe and followed this on the Sunday with a quick trip into Uxbridge both for wearing and buying of heels. On the Saturday I wore a pair of size 9EEE black ankle boots by Evans (£5 in the sale), extremely discreet apart from the heel clicking. They have a 3 inch stiletto heel and are very comfy. As I said previously no one even batted an eyelid! I purchased the pair of shoe boots in the last picture in High wycombe and it was these that I wore to Uxbridge the next day. Now here again, whilst not being quite as discreet as the ankle boots, despite having a much lower soundfall, I had no problems wearing these in a busy shopping centre on a Sunday afternoon. On this occassion I did get spotted a couple of times, first by an assistant who was manning the door in Next, she had a good look down at my feet as I walked in and made a point of saying a cheerful goodbye when I left..... she knew and she really didn't care. I then visited Evans and again picked up two bargains in the sale for £10 each. A pair of black calf length 2 1/2 inch kitten heel boots and a pair of brown calf length "Cuban" heel boots (Which were the exact same colour as my leather jacket!... you have got to work that outfit!!) now the sales woman in here was really helpful, especially considering I was already wearing a pair of heels I decided to wear the brown boots for the rest of the day as they went so well with my jacket and the outfit looked spot on. (Under my jeans btw) Now this is where I got spotted the second time and had a trio of "Security" men following me about the shopping centre. Two seemed quite amused but the other was a little off, so I fronted them out with "Is there a problem gentlemen? to which "Mr Offish" responded err no but his colleague winked and said "Nice boots!" I told him that they had several pairs left in Evans if he wanted some and he replied "Not for me.... I'm not brave enough" His colleague by now disappearing rapidly he wished me a pleasant afternoon and wandered off. It is as you say Freddy, as long as you are reasonably discreet and have the to confidence to wear heels it really isn't a problem I now have five new pairs of heels, which are forming my new collection of shoes that actually fit well enough to be worn for an extended period.

  7. Last Friday I was in 5 inch heels from 8 o´clock in the morning to 8 o´clock in the evening. I think I did very fine. Was to a buisness meeting so I had to look good. My 5 inch stilleto heels was just the shoes to wear for an occasion like this. Wearing high heels I not only look smart, I feel important too. People notice me, people seeing me. Being not so tall, wearing heels makes me feel and look taller. Walking to the bus that morning my heels was making a hard clicking sound. Coulden´t walk that fast, my spike heels wasn´t made for fast walking not was my tight skirt. Also had to carry my brief case and my handbag as well. Walkin was ok, standing waiting for the bus was not. Standing in my high heels my feet, my toes took all my body weight. The toe box of my heels was very very slim and tight fitted so standing my toes felt like sardines in a not so roomy box. Furtunatly I haden´t have to stand waiting that long for my bus to come. I was lucky, I was able to found a seat. I sat down beside a girl, about my age. Crossing my legs I saw she looked at my legs, my nylons clad legs and my heels. She smiled, I smiled back. She was wearing a skirt, nylons and heels just like me although my heels was higher. We began to talk. We talked about lots of things. She asked me about my heels. Told me she liked them. I thanked her. Then she saying - smiling "I saw you standing waiting for the bus, you seemed to have a bit of a problem standing in them". I smiled, we both smiled. Told her "yes" it was a bit painful standing in them. The girl understood it but still she told me "those are just very nice heels". I was very proud, very glad and it felt very good to talk to her. I gather if I haden´t wore heels and skirt we probably haven´t start talking at all. More soon.
