"Last minute" meeting around the UK?
FastFreddy2 replied to FastFreddy2's topic in Heelbucks chit chat Cafe
You may not have noticed, but "joking" around here, is specifically banned. ( ) I have no idea what 'appropriate' footwear might look like. I'm going to wear something with a heel, because it's a place I will wear a heel to. But, it won't be a stiletto, ONLY because several men wearing them might draw more attention than (say) one person (me) wearing them (as I might usually wear there). That said, the two pairs of stillies I might wear, are quieter than the block heels I intend to wear. -

That would be correct. Or we could walk 10 paces behind? Anyone who is going to look, will be looking at you not the rest of us? Bit like a decoy? Seriously, something quiet(er) I think? In the West End it probably wouldn't matter because of the street noise, but Westfield isn't anything like as noisy, by some margin. 3 or 4 individuals, each wearing a noisy heel, could draw attention? -
Victoria Beckham (a personal fav). "Like". More >> here << Kate Hudson. "Like". More >> here << Miranda Kerr. "Like". More >> here << Kim Kardashian. "Not so much". (Essex girl? http://heels4men.net/uploads/emoticons/default_rolleyes.gif' alt=''>) More >> here <<

"Last minute" meeting around the UK?

Without question, something in black. Probably leather, but can't guarantee. -
Spent the evening going through the options with Mrs Freddy. After 2 hours, she'd given up and started agreeing to anything I showed her. I found some inexpensive two-tap pedestal basins that go with the toilet. I also found cheaper versions of the £118 taps too, as well as a wider range of them. The bottom line isn't just cost, though there is a budget. The new bathroom has to look like it belongs together, not like we used Dr Frankenstein's Bathroom Designs Ltd. Even if we move quickly, we'll be using this stuff for maybe a year. It's got to function, and stay 'fresh' looking. I can't tell you how frustrating it is, not being able to take photographs at the moment, with so much else to do. But soon!

Found these too late to invest. £25 from Jane Norman. >> Here << Sold out of my size in all but white, which is going to be popular this year, apparently. I like a high stiletto court, and these are high. Inexpensive too. Oh well. Silver lining, is not giving a sale to the seemingly unhelpful and sometimes ignorant Jane Norman staff.

Selling Shoes And Boots
FastFreddy2 replied to FastFreddy2's topic in Heels for Men - High Heels for Sale
Escaped the selling drought again. Sold some trousers, and a pair of ankle boots at a price that means I've almost given them away. One less pair anyway. Had a someone ask me to relist a second pair with a Buy-It-Now immediately the auction had ended, but my challenge of 'if you are serious send £1 to cover relisting fees', had the proposal fall over. I've already had money wasted with one tyre-kicker asking the same thing, who didn't then bid on the item, so I was (understandably) reluctant to oblige the same request. Still waiting to get payment for a couple of bits, but yet to see a non-payment, though one of the bidders has some history of this. This is all more evidence of money getting tighter. -
Good to hear from you. Like the avatar.

The Project, mentioned before, has produced some good results. Details and piccies to follow. The bathroom "Plan" took a bit of a nose dive today. When we bought the house, the bathroom was a priority. We (thought we) had two plumbers lined up, in hindsight we actually had none..... So at the time we bought a new bath, and a new toilet/basin suite that came with bath fittings, although the bath wasn't part of the 'cloakroom' suite. We remembered the cloakroom suite was stylish (of course) but hadn't remembered the fittings being that great, so we bought new ones recently. The newer bath taps came with a shower mixer, which the 'suite' ones didn't, and nor would they take a hose attachment either. Finally unpacking the cloakroom suite some 30 months later ..... We are reminded the suite basin is (i) huge, large enough to bathe a small child. [600mm wide x 500mm deep.] And (ii) has a single filler tap arrangement. The £45 replacement basin taps that go with the £99 replacement bath shower mixers, are not a single filler. [Mrs Freddy doesn't like the single filler.] Looking back to the time of purchase, the single filler tap, and non-shower-mixer [non-shower attachment compatible] bath taps weren't a problem, because we were not going to be here after 6 months. The idea was to refurb/remodel in 3-6 months and put the place back on the market. We're still here, and Mrs Freddy has been promised a shower mixer in her new bath. Currently, we have an excess pedestal basin and tap, with excess bath mixers. I can barely lift the sink, so no chance of resale. Worse news is that most basins are single fill now. We also looked for a bath shower mixer in the same style as the 'suite' single tap, and Armitage don't do one. Both sets of newer/replacement taps can be returned. We only (really) need a compatible shower mixer for the bath. Mrs Freddy is unhappy with the single fill basin, but there's precious little about as an alternative. Not a great day here. P.S. Two hours trawling the internet has produced solutions. Either ...... New basin (aka sink) as it seems Ideal Standard do several 'two-tap' basins that might be suitable, as do VitrA. [Okay for me, but Mrs Freddy gets the veto on this.] Or ...... I've managed to find a shower mixer in the same style as the suite taps. New basin and pedestal £75 delivered. Bath shower mixer £118 delivered. Some would say an easy choice?

"Last minute" meeting around the UK?

At the moment, it looks like at least 3 of us will be meeting up. My walking companion, might have the afternoon off, so she can join us? It'll mean I can go to the West End too, though I might not be able to park up until 2.30pm. If we meet at Westfield, we could arrive at 1.30pm if traffic is okay? -
Oddities - Fun And Different Heels You'd Probably Never Wear
FastFreddy2 replied to shyguy's topic in Shoe Critique
I would gladly wear anything from their SS13 collection, though at £345 a pop, an unlikely scenario. Really don't like their FW13 collection. Sorry, but these 3 styles are very poor compared to Vs2R. -
They would pass as mens heels. We see a lot of Chinese here, thanks to the University. Seldom see any in heels, and never high ones. Not seen any Chinese girls able to walk well in an even slightly heeled shoe either? And you're ABSOLUTELY sure, you hadn't spotted 3 unattractive women? ....

I can do the 9th. Won't be the West End unless it's in the evening though. [My friend with the Blue Badge works on Thursdays.] But Westfield White City would be a runner. -

A date that included a Friday would suit me, but Euchrid would find a Monday far easier. I'll have an ask. How definite "could" those dates be? -
Kelly Brook. Glamorous actress, best known for the glamour. Likes to wear a heel when in front of the camera. And these are 'properly' high heels. Loubies. I'm seriously impressed. More >> here <<

I read the Daily Mail On-Line because there's not much detail past the headlines, and there's usually plenty of pictures showing women in heels. They tend to celebs at film Premières, 'Award ceremonies etc etc. They are a bit right wing, so I stay away from the Politics section. If I needed to explain further, it's how I got to include the photo's of Abbey Crouch, shown elsewhere. So, spotted some outfits today, I thought worthy to include here, together with a 4 or 5 word reason. Please leave comments!! Christina Milian (singer apparently) ...... Platforms but stylish look. Seen while trawling through ASOS ...... One of their own styles >> One of ALDO's at ASOS >> United Nude, 'wood' copy? -
Spotted in a shop at a large Mall recently. I thought Barratts, but couldn't find them on their web site, so I might be wrong? But girlie ...... ..... I'd say so.

I remember them, and would still like to own a pair. The ones with the thinner sole sound perfect. If I could be sure a US10 would fit, I'd get a pair shipped over. Sorry to hear about the sprain. Sounds like it put a crimp on all your activities. Hopefully, the pain has gone even if some flexibility has been lost. You're still in much better shape than some folk decades younger. -
Fate dealt me a better hand today. Had cause to visit another M+S Outlet in a different town. Found two pair of the jeans in the style/size I missed out on, and one of them had a 34" inside leg, same price at £6-99. Shockingly poor quality material for a denim jean, but £7 with 34" inside leg in blue ....... ? Also found a black pair of similar design, similar dimensions. No returns so had to try them on in-store too. Young lad looking after the changing room wasn't terrifically motivated, so I wandered in and back out without any query concerning me and girls jeans. They fitted even better than the blue pair, with a slightly more generous cut around the 'family jewels'. Priced at £5, another "no-brainer". So now own another two pairs of heel covering stretch jeans. £12. I've had worse days.

Strange but true ..... Leatherworks could be addressing two segments of the market ...... During my early auction site buying days, I got a pair of ankle boots from this mob. Lovely boots, but smelled like they'd been used as an ashtray. Really unpleasant, and too bad to risk the smell dissipating.

Sorry to hear that. Not that it occurred to me (or probably anyone else) that you might have. Well, it might have crossed my mind ..............
