'Wet look' or shiny leggings?

Recommended Posts

That is quite striking. Not exactly blend into the crowd wear, but the look certainly creates a fun vibe for the right casino.

Essential hi-vis wear for those working in sewers and the like.   And I like the natty bag for the gas detector. :D

Her day job may be ‘runway beacon’,

It is still, I think, a fun look for the right occasion. But then I have never been afraid of colour

Not only; "not quite a lady", but someone who has earned a great deal of money from the sex industry, one way or another.

A symptom of our "media" society.

I have no idea why such a seemingly immoral person becomes so wealthy, and gets regular air time on British TV.

Don’t know who she is but she looks like she’s got kind of a Nazi thing going there. Nothing subtle or especially soft and ladylike about the outfit, and not exactly office wear either

Again, no idea who she is. I am not concerned about morals, but lack of talent and being famous for being famous bugs me. Don’t know if this woman is talented or not, but it does seem to me that a lot of nobodies seem to pop up out of nowhere and become obscene rich for...nothing!

Lady Victoria Hervey.

Someone better known for being in a state of partial dress ... In the news recently for being part of a threesome with two other celebrities you probably don't know.

Katie Price aka Jordan.

She is a grafter, and someone who likes 'pretty' hunks.

I am concerned about morals, especially when children are involved. Someone who seeks to be in the limelight as much as she does, ought to be showing themselves to be a good role model, or not be given media attention. There is enough evil in the world already, without encouraging it. She lives in a bubble, and quite likely doesn't understand nor care, how others will be tempted to follow her example.

"Hey look at me. Act like a whore, and get rich!"

Not the lesson children/young people should be taught, especially not her own children. She once published a picture of her (then circa) 10 year old dressed and made up as a sexually active adult. It may be she was 'made up' to be like "mum", but then publish the image? I flat out don't agree with making children look like adults in any situation - ever. It's just not a safe thing to do.

More meds, and off to bed. ;)

If you're looking for good role models for children amongst celebrities you're fighting an uphill battle. I'm sure such people exist but their better qualities are lost in the great swirl of marketing - which is what celebrity is all about; selling things. Music, clothes, shoes, hamburgers, soft drinks, videos etc. If the celebrities happen to be great role models, fine, but that's not why anyone markets them. It might help with the marketing -  a bit - but a lack of morals can easily be overcome by spin and clever PR and a celebrity worshipping culture and press.

Parents have a role to play - a big one, a defining one, I would say.

Whatever Katie Price does, however she gets her kicks and jollies, I couldn't care less.

In terms of children - girls, mainly - made up to look like sexually active adults - agreed, it's repulsive. But again it's down to the parents to take a firm grip and not let celebrities, and marketers raise their children and give them their values.  Sure, pop culture is pervasive, but that can be overcome with thought, care and guidance.

Actually, I think I liked her leather outfit better than these slinky see-throughs. Whatever floats her boat, I guess....

As a reasonably young (impressionable) man, I remember -vividly- reading a magazine article about Vidal Sassoon's eldest daughter Catya. She was living the L.A. dream being wealthy, attractive and owning a family name that made her welcome in all the 'right' places. By the time of the article, she was 15, and already had a drug and alcohol addiction problem. He father was born into "dirt poor" circumstances, was homeless as a child and spent time in an orphanage, was evacuated from London during WWII... I can't imagine a more disparate start to their respective lives. He died at 84, she died at 33 (addiction related illness).

Reading the article all those years ago, drew a conclusion in my mind that while having "everything" might seem attractive, in itself it produces problems poorer folk like me don't have to contend with. At the moment I am again reading about many 'celebrity children' being spotlighted, currently cherished by the sycophantic media who will be the same organisations, that will report every stumble and fall as these children fail later in life. It's quite sickening.

You know that's not an usual comment I see written about her. "Looks better dressed than undressed".

I quite liked the dress in the first picture though. :)

It depends so much on the individual. The father in that Sassoon scenario, born into nothing, could just as easily have died as young, or younger, than his daughter eventually did and of the same sad sordid causes. Many impoverished people from rough backgrounds do just that. Only we never hear about them because they remain obscure. That the old man did not, but founded a business and a fortune, speaks well for his character.

Likewise there are plenty of people born to money who are decent productive citizens and do much with the head start they have been given. They tend not to be the ones living the celebrity lifestyle though, and so we tend not to hear much about them either.

In any event it is down to the individual and the choices they make.

As to the other - the lady in leather - I think it can be said of many, if not most people, however glamorous: that they look better dressed.

If I could be sure you lost it 30 years ago, having seen the sample picture supplied, I'd be asking my sister-in-law who she had to make that outfit with it.

She's much, much bigger now (head like a football) but thirty years ago, I really would be asking her about that picture..... :o

I don't think it was her - but I wouldn't object to laying her on the floor in lieu of the lost DPM.

Someone found some offcuts?

Les Dawson (her dad) will be turning in his grave. Talentless no-hoper, pumped up with fillers and living her life in front of as many cameras as she can get interested. Google tells me, "media whore" is a real thing.

Les Dawson was a much-loved northern comedian, known for his gurning, deliberately mangled piano playing and deadpan delivery of mother-in-law jokes and the like.   I knew he had a daughter but have no knowledge of her activities or whatever talent she may (perhaps) possess.

And may I request that we endeavour to use an adverb in future!   :o

You may request it, but action will depend on whether or not the auto-correct on my iPad will permit such a thing.

Are you saying that your iPad defaults to that erroneous usage and cannot be altered, or manually corrected?   (I don't own an iPad, so am unfamiliar with it.)

There hasn't been a grammar checker designed, that won't allow unique/new additions. "Users" understanding how it is done, not so common.

As to correcting (joke or otherwise), I very much doubt there could be an adverb "trashily", because I fink trash is a noun. And.... anyway .... "dress (or act) trashy" is a colloquial term and as such, grammar checkers don't apply. :P
