Ran Out Of Courage

Recommended Posts

So I had taken my boots (from this thread Boots from Yellow Shoes) with me. Actually drove a bit with them on my feet, wasn't too bad but I'd need more practice. So I parked my car and wanted to go to a shoe store. I did take a few steps outside my car in the parking lot but I had to cross a pretty wide road to reach the store and with lots of people there, I chickened out. Maybe another time.

"A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." -- Confucius

Before I went daytime public, I spent a lot of time walking in desolate areas, at night.

It wasn't unusual (at the time) for me to walk a couple of miles a week in heels. The intention was respond to my long suppressed need to enjoy wearing them, and to help me become proficient in heels so as to not draw attention. It was months before I went out in daylight.

Was worth the wait though ..... wink.gifcool.gif

I did it. I went to a big department store, located in a mall but it had dedicated entrances. I put my on ankle boots in the car, crossed the parking and entered. Browsed a bit between the racks of clothing. Picked a couple items and went in line to pay at the cash.

All in all, uneventful. It was great !!

Congratulation on wearing your ankle boots in public. Most people are too busy to notice what other are wearing. The more I wore mine the more confident I became. I have had the odd comment or snigger, but it doesn't put me off.

So I did it again. Went to the department store wearing my black somewhat skinny jeans meaning that the bottom of the jeans bunched up at the top of the heels, so they were VERY visible. Didn't stay long, but browsed a bit and certainly used the tiled store alley a lot more. I believe a few people noticed but only one woman, who was already looking at the floor while walking and looked up a bit when she heard the clicking on the heels, she she the heels, gazed up and just as I passed her I actually saw the question marks in her eyes and she started to turn her head around.

Baby steps, but I think I'll slow down. Since I don't have full approval of my wife, it would be bad to be caught in public.

Below was how visible the boots were.

Well I think further congratulations are in order, well done sir! cool.gif

Not quite sure why you did so little to hide the heel [no wider jeans, or none with a flare maybe] but you've gone further than me in respect of daylight/public heeling. ohmy.gifbiggrin.gif

Had I gone out in such a way, I doubt I would have been able to carry it off. Fear [although I'm not sure what of] would have kept me in the closest toilet to were I left the car. Even in Oxford Street, or Westfield [stratford] which are about the busiest places I've been, wearing visible high heels would probably be a challenge I'm not ready for. Sure my heels can be seen briefly when I stride forward, but otherwise they "stay in the closet" under my jeans or trousers. wink.gif

I'm impressed. Actually, jealous and impressed. tongue.gif

Dunno about slowing down though, seems you've raced ahead already?

Getting busted by your wife, well that's a good reason to move with a little more care. wink.gif In the big outside world, 'escape' is only as far as your car. At home, no escape possible. huh.gif And them women folk seem to have the ability to remember detail and circumstance several light years away from anything us men folk are typically capable of. Upsetting your spouse over wearing high heels, really is the last thing any of would consider a step in the right direction. [sorry, couldn't resist the pun.]

If you haven't already, maybe you should 'sound out' the good lady's possible response to you going out in heels while you're being discreet about you wearing them? [Meaning, while wearing longer/wider jeans. biggrin.gif] Who knows, were she to witness how little folk are interested in what you're doing, maybe you could have an escort [her] from time to time?

I think I've mentioned before, the three women I've been out in public with, would be less inclined to go out with me were I in stripper heels. None of them are that keen anyway, but they will go out with me in heels almost anytime, provided I'm discreet. That means longer jeans/trousers, and no noisy heels. [No steel tips on heels.] Not anywhere in daylight at least. dry.gif

Would you have thought, even 6 months ago, you'd be out in public wearing high heels?

You've certainly moved forward. cool.gif

I was at work and took an extended lunch for some errands. Since I was passing by the mall and the boots were still in my car, I stopped. It wasn't planned ahead of time.

Hence the slowing down...

Maybe eventually, but even if she knows about my interest for heels and sometimes lets me try her heels when they are new, I don't think going out with me in heels would fly. It was my birthday recently and I did have a pair of Pleaser's Seduce boots in my wishlist :)

Not me. :)

Maybe in another 6 six months, I may be asking, "Who thought your wife would be agreeable to walking out with you in [modest] heels?"

A phrase I learned not very long ago, is; "If you don't ask, you don't get." Usually pointed at salesmen when asking for a discount, but it's fair advice for any situation really. Of course there are ways of asking. wink.gif

My first all day out in heels with Mrs Freddy, came from me taking her to an exhibition she was very keen to attend. I went under sufferance, but made the day completely enjoyable for her. [Lunch and dinner out, 3 hours in an exhibition supposedly taking everyone else 45 minutes......]

But I went there in heels, with Mrs Freddy's blessing. A day neither of us will forget. cool.gif

Anyway, little steps, eh? smile.gif
